I believe the ambulance allows soldiers who are conscious to move to an ambulance and be treated before they do actually loose consciousness.

Yes. Some aspects of the game, have been/are broken. If it's your mod downloads, usually people around here delete the mod if it shows in mod manager and retry the download, maybe restart the game too after deleting and before retrying the mod download. Also I hear people in-game claiming not having your Xbox on wifi but rather wired helps if you're on console.

It happened when the server was almost full, and when it was at 50% capacity, so I don't think the number of players effect it.

Well as Marko mentioned this error happens when client fails to establish connection to the server
Basically you as client tried to connect to the server but that server did not respond to you and you ran out of time which you have to connect to the server before it throws this error. Server did not respond in that time window so you got this error.
If it takes few times before you manage to connect then it could be some temporary issue 
For example that server is so slow that it did not manage to respond to you before you ran out of time. but with this few data we can just guess.
You could try to ping machine on which that server is running (you can find its IP in server browser) or even traceroute to see if there is some issue between you and it but if there is none and you were able to connect to the server after few tries then it would be probably some issue with that server.
You could also try to connect to any empty server to see if it has also issues or if it is just those on which there are some players.
hey guys, seriously thinking of picking up Reforger but have a few questions. is the game in a playable state? can i join a server and enjoy vanilla or is it straight to mods? hows the playerbase? etc etc
of course its in a playable state. unless you ask any of the haters on here. Some people consider the smallest detail being wrong making the game "unplayable." Thats just downright ridiculous to me! Nobody can tell you if you'll enjoy it or not, thats up to you to decide.

You wont get arma3 amount of vanilla assets, more like 10% of it.
Its more MP pvp oriented, however PVE and GM (Zeus) communities exists as well.
Singleplayer is limited to tutorial, more or less.
Ingame editor doesn't exist.
Game is enjoyable, if you can see past few bugs and glitches, and as mentioned above connection and game stability is not 100%

there's no loot in vanilla, you must be talking about a mod
Ok so if I added vergys military equipment mod or MME( modern military equipment) mods, Does it automatically add the spawn locations, or would I need to add spawn locations in when using the base map everon?
there are no spawn locations for gear (in vanilla). If you add the mod the items will be available in the factions arsenal. I believe I've seen a loot spawner mod but no idea how it works.
Yeah I've had a little look at one loot spawner mod, but looks like it is a placeable oven that has a lootspawn incorporated into it.

afaik It's vertical fov so 90 is actually 120

I think the easiest is to middle mouse button click on the weapon and then drag it there (in inventory)

Any plans to make movement through bush and shrubbery be impeded a little bit? Currently moving through shrubs/bushes only make rustling noises. Hoping it will reduce speed also. For foot and also for vehicles.
So from my problem yesterday with regards to attaching attachments. I just watched a video on YT and the guy is dragging stuff around In inventory, which is normal from Arma, but I can't left clicking on something and dragging it does nothing, and I can't see anything In the controls that might be non binded.

LOD popping/texture loading is CPU/RAM thing or GPU/VRAM thing?
It's connected, what doesn't fit in VRAM is in RAM or on disk, the CPU controls what will be displayed and how it will look. In particular, this is a matter of the engine, which should properly prepare the 3D scene.

To add to that only 2001 UDP is needed 17777 is a2s and not needed for normal operation, only if you want to use a2s. For listen servers (ingame host) you dont need it.

There’s mod helicopters. Chinook, Blackhawk, little bird and Apache. They all got no sound after the update

Nitrado is ease of accesd and simple. Its slow to stop/start/reset. Its also not the best when it comes to power of the server. I have one for my group bc i got it 40% off for the year at 24 slot. Its a good server to have i keep it private and on abraham island for training and bct. I would mention it has limitations which other server companies dont, just take my word for it.
Gtx is my main server of 64, nice bc you can upgrade ram cpu memory etc. ive maxed it out. Not playing any games here, pun intended. Hella smooth and stable. And you get alot more freedom with your server. Mods always work with gtx. Its also 130/month at max and 64, yearly is cheaper but i hope theres an additional discount around holidays...

Network View Distance: 500
Do the enfusion database and persistence need to be in there? Distances seem fine idk if the 500 network view is too low, maybe try 700. Cant remember the minimum.

Both hard knock and everon life have scenario ids youll find in the website for arma reforger workshop. Just click the scenario tab. Id try one then the other with all mods in the script as normal and see if it works, if not then can be assured the mods arent compatible with nitrado

Im sure theres a way to view files for error codes to see what the issue is but ive never did that with notrado
Try removing the mods and moving back to gm eden scenario id and see if it starts.
Also when you update scenario id with mods you may need to go to gen settings and make sure the proper scenario id is selected...

I cant enable it, on the workshop page it gives me the option to download it, it shows up in my mod manager and anytime i try to install it immedietly fails
if I try to download it, it softlocks my game and I have to restart, since all the options for exiting or cancelling get grayed out

I wish they were a little more open about their update timelines because I run a group that’s like 40$ a month to uprun a server on arma reforger and it’s just every major updates screws it up and I feel like I’m paying 40$ for nothing
It's an entire month and theyre not based out of France. There's more than likely going to be at least a minor update.
The game master wheel breaking every few minutes is more then a minor update for dedicated game masters tho

Lmao especially when I have a big group of people in my server that constantly ask if the server is ready and stuff lmao but I will give kudos to the modders fixing everything pretty dang fast
Some of us really try to be ready by push to stable from exp branch, and that is often quite stressful! But the payout is glorious when your server fills up on update day because you were ready for it and everyone else just started trying to fix their mods. Another reason dependencies are not ideal, I hate waiting on others.
Really once the redline mods get fixed and the game master wheel and some server performance related issues are fixed I’ll be happy as a mf and will get everything up and rolling for sure.
I just want -loadSaveFile to work EVERY time the server comes back up after a restart/crash like it did in 0.9.8, not most of the time. That just don't cut it, Im tired of hearing "Our HQ is gone again! or "There's no spawn points!""

Since the new update for Reforger Xbox GM is bugged with the GM wheel not showing up. Will I be able to fix that and finally properly GM for my guys if I plugged in a keyboard and mouse to my Xbox?
i dont play on xbox, but ive heard people talking about how this bug isnt an issue for them since they use keyboard and mouse for xbox. i dont have this issue on pc either, so yes, i think it should fix it.

I can confirm it works now!! However for whatever reason now that it’s all plugged in the controller can work GM just fine. Any how, worth the $25 for a wireless keyboard/mouse.

Oh my bad, replied to the wrong comment. Ya I plugged the USB to the mouse and keyboard and it works now. Not sure how or why I can use the controller GM now but I can. Keyboard is also nice to have now too tho. I feel hardly any recoil and feels smoother ish

Okay so what I'm saying is have people play the updated version. Like you. Then report anything BIG, stuff that you know is gonna draw crouds. Then fix it and save the smaller bugs to be fixed later

Problem is you cannot test everything. It's a sandbox game
On their server hardware, with their server settings and their test steps everything may be fine.
But then you have a community server change ONE setting to one that wasn't tested.
Or run some hardware that causes a lag at a specific point.
Or instead of first clicking on a unit and then an object in GM, first click on an object and then a unit.
Or or or or..
And even all that is without mods.

as far as I know there are more crashes coming from vanilla features on my modded servers than from mods
still depends how those vanilla features are being used, but since the software is built in a way that it provides no useful crash logs a lot of the time, modders aren't really equipped to deal with it

@gloomy locust Severs are trash rn but that seems like a you issue, try resetting your Xbox or cache and try again. It could also be a specific mod your using also

anyone know if a weight system is in the pipeline. it really is just hard to have any fun defending when you just have to sit inside, because if you decide to peek through a window you just take a 40mm or rpg to the face. even if you do kill them, they just respawn on the radioman in the bush but thats a whole other problem
What hardware is allowing the PlayStation 5 to be better optimized for Arma Reforger, than the series x?
Hardware isn't my forte, I'm mainly speaking from personal opinion because I played my BIL's Series X, played MWII, DayZ, and BOCW and for me, the PS5 just felt smoother and faster. It literally takes me five minutes to download MW2 and it's packs, the damn thing feels like a PC on its own most of the time, but I could easily be wrong about it supporting Arma, but it supports DayZ much better than Xbox in my experience

Stalker devs keep to their so called "silent agree" position (you can check Steam Workshop for hundreds if not thousands of stalker-based mods for different games, aswell as moddb platform etc.) and I see no point bothering them until BI gives any further details

I don't know much about ARMA community and its modding but since Reforge is basically DayZ on steroids there shouldn't be any problems in porting assets that are already made for DayZ. I know that because I'm into DayZ modding and I know people are using Reforge Workbench for adapting stalker animations for DayZ (DayZ's Workbench is like an early pre-alpha of Reforge's and has same functionality but very limited). As for buildings, if you have collision geometry you basically have everything. So it is unclear if people are just not interested at the moment or if BI implemented restrictions.
Porting assets yeah, but still the engine is a mess and the documentation for modders is basically nonexistent and/or quickly becoming obsolete, so as with turbulent time periods in games that release mod support it takes years for an ecosystem to come where big projects (Think the galaxies mod for A3) are viable. I don’t know how many assets are in stalker tho
Comparing to DayZ official modding documentation Reforge has a f library. And as for number of stalker assets, the number is huge. There is a whole ecosystem and plenty of people are buying DayZ only to play some stalker, because those two games mix up very well.

I have a serious problem. I was accused of using racial slurs that I never used. The server admin showed me some logs with my name showing that it was written and linked to my ID. But I have never written anything like that. There are some acronyms like "lol", that I just do not use. Moreover, on the screens it looks as if the messages were written by at least two different persons, but it's all assigned to my ID. How is it possible?
Just regular game master and my keybinds are fine. It fixed itself for a little bit then went right back to doing it when we changed up the map

I think the main major problem with this is that you need to head over to a crate of your faction and save your loadout again once you reconnect in conflict, otherwise if you die you'll have to head back to main base and build your loadout and save it again. (it definitely does help though and I would rather servers switch it on than not)

They did alter things in the vehicle workshop after griefers were blowing up a car inside of the vehicle spawn.

What i did, is play local, make mission, exit and save.
Then locate save file, upload the .json file to server.
Use cli param to load saved file, and load same scenario.

Question is there a mod out there with a lot of audio bites? I’m a gm for my group and having been interested trying to add more audio bites for dramatic effects and the like. I’m solely on Xbox and have no clue how to start modding even if I could on a laptop. I’ve got a few audio bites if someone’s able to put them in. I’m looking for afghan related content. Commands, shouts/screaming from civilians, mortar launching from the tube, prayer singing, chatter, ect.
AFAIK the only way that could work is to have that sound tied to an object (speaker/radio/etc) and place that object in GM. the only mod with any similar is Game Master FX which has an air raid siren
Mind you, only four or five commands were promised in last year's roadmap... the Field Manual mentions only a few more
i cant say i have sniped an enemy from that range but i have pummeled them with the PK at that range, i have hit vehicles on arland map from training base cliff to the dirt road near lighthouse south of moss hill
default server view distance is 1600, I've sniped people from 1000 meters before no problem

the only problem at that range is that most of the character doesnt render at that distance due to LODs, so you'd have floating shirts or legs without torsos, makes it harder to PID
I usually use the modded barrett m82 with explosive rounds at this distance because it doesnt matter which body part I hit, I'm doing really well with it
those rounds make it easier as you can blast people behind cover too
For us on console we can not render players past 700-800 meters it seems and vehicles past maybe a 1000. Small vehicles like the UAZ drops out of render a little bit closer then the trucks do. Often players are just a pair of floating hands and feet when getting close to a 600-700m distance, depends on the clothing they wear it seems😄 i would like to see a change to this as i am sure my series X has no problem rendering further than that as it runs the game buttery smooth on the low graphic setting. I dont know about the series S though.
The render distance and render quality of players does seem to be optic dependent.
I can spot a player with my 12x binoculars and then swap to my M21 with fully zomed 9X scope and the player does not render, back to binoculars and i see him just fine😄 PC players has an enourmous advantage in that regard.

No gamemaster control after dying as AI? (Xbox)
Already posted this in the Reddit, I just wanted to see if you guys had any answers.
I’m creating a scenario in GameMaster (exclusively offline/solo, me vs AI). If I begin controlling one of the AI units and then die, when I go back to gamemaster, many features are restricted - such as my context menu and advanced unit ordering.
Other than spawning in new entities, all I’m allowed to do is select existing units and order them with the basic “move” command which is binded to my “Y” key. Obviously this restricts me from controlling any more AI, altering their properties, ordering them to defend, etc.
I’m certain I’m just doing something wrong as I’ve played around with the spawning mechanics, and figured out that I could respawn after placing a “player entity” and using the “player respawn” menu.
However, once I switch back to the gamemaster, if I want to then at the very least take control of, say a machine gunner after I die as a sniper on a different squad, I have no way of doing so. It’s pretty frustrating but I come from arma 3 Eden editor so I could just be trying to do something the game simply doesn’t allow yet.

A serious technical error in the game that leads to the program crashing. If the program continued, you would see really weird things on the screen and it would gradually lead to the crash of the whole device, which you would have to restart

Probably the reason why they are using BTRs is because they don’t want to show off the tracked vehicles till arma 4

BTRs were pretty standard APC in every branch, it was mainly used as mule/mobile medium machine gun platform.
Commander was supposed to be a squad leader of motorized squad, it didnt have dedicated vehicle commander.
And yes, i do belive that tracked vehicles are omitted on purpose, as to save stuff for full arma title.
82nd didn't use lav,s until 1991 the gulf war. And it was only for a breif duration . The lav,s were merely a handfull of loaners from the usmc because they had been scrapping the m551 Sheridan light tank. They only had enough to equip a single scout platoon. Then it all got sent back.
And if it was the intention was soviet era vdv rather than a generic infantry unit they would have included the paratrooper derivative of the ak74 , the aks74 , and bi would have kept the blue striped undershirts for the player models maybe even thrown in the blue beret.

You dont get a good story in the shoes of gi joe where you rush to take the hill with your platoon, half of your squad mates die, and next day you go take another hill.

I think that would be a more captivating portrayal of war though, that really only a game like arma could do

that's another thing. when you free roam theres nothing to see. Theres entire front lines drawn on the map but no fights are happening along it when you wander. obviously it would be too taxing to have them going all at once but you could generate AI within a certain range
or at least random patrols and units

There is ofc room for improvement. But then again, game wants you to complete an objective, and due to resource saving and optimal preformance, they didnt bother to put stuff too far from the objective.

maybe my memory is faded, but i recall Operation arrowhead basically being a steamrool campaign. that even if you screw up its just a matter of delaying victory becuase its a 1st world army steamrolling some 3rd world tinpot army. that victory all but guarnateed.

i notice on average that a US squad will kill an entire Soviet squad with around 2-3 remaining, US squads are bigger though
US teams are usally much bigger but a skilled russian can take down a lot of yanks, i once crashed into 3 yanks and turned them into a roadblock. Got like 8 kills with that
i was refering to the AI but i agree, when it comes to the russians they are superior at close quarters, Americans at longer ranges each team needs to play to their factions strengths

my experience varies. ive had enough games where soviets were incompetent and getting steamrolled by americans.
yeah has to do with the fact the AK's can be fired in automatic. that and you can stick larger rpk mags into them. maybe this close range advantage will be somewhat reduced when the US team gets the "m16a2 carbine"
What i dislike about the soviet team though IS how thier chest rigs or webbing doesn't hold as much gear as Alice system does. I think the soviet team is forced to be more reliant on backbacks then the US team. Not that it stops people from being overloaded rambos on the us team, trying to take a alice backpack sticking 30 spare magazines and dozens of spare 40mm nades.

tbh its even a good thing the cold war setting is late enough to allow for the liftchik chest rigs existing. because imagine being limited to just the old leather style webbing from the m69 pattern uniforms that are included in the armament section.. are very underwhelming in thier capacity. the standard rifleman harness of that setup only allowed me to carry 4 spare AK mags and 1 frag.
the litchick standard loadout is 6 mags, and can store 2 frags and 2 smokes, and has enough space to stuff in a 7th 30 round magazine
the standard alice rifleman spawns with 6 mags 2 frags and 2 smokes
but has enough space for me to stuff an additional 6 magazines
which is kinda weird considering the standard Alice 3d model harness only has 2 M16 mag pouches which IRL are only supposed to have 3 mags each, but i guess the rest magazines are stuff into the small pack in the rear of the alice belt?
becuse for example the Alice grenadier vest limits you to 16 40mm nades quantiy it has irl. even though from a qunatiy pov you still have space in that setup for other stuff like magazines ,smokes or frags etc

You use it for other things too, like figuring out distance for long range Marksman shots, and stuff

The other is your Elevation for distance
In arma 3 they were just blank scopes right? without any measurements

So the guy who aims the thing aims bearing 030 - roughly North by Northeast - and points the barrel 1652 mils upwards, and puts in two rings of Charge Propellant

there is a 81 and 82mm mortar in the roadmap. Given the Americans used 81mm's I will presume the mortar question for the us side is the M252. It was serviced in the 80s and has a max range of nearly 6Km

it depends. whether mortars are only an emplacement buildable with supplies like a 50 cal with sandbags or if its something you can carry in a backpack and assemble/ setup on the field

with how arma 3's system works i just hopped in a 105 i placed on everon, and "close range" artillery map mode allowed me to engage just before end of the airfield when i was placed at 1 end of Airfield by saint phillipe. at max distance i could actually outrange everon. and its islands lol.

Pbs imo isnt a good server, community in there has always sucked. Pbs has tons of griefers and its even worse than official. SAW ger/eu was a good server but its dead now. Right now there isnt any good server
