Anyone know the height of infantry, jeeps, supply trucks and the BMPs in meters???
infantry I think was 1.8 m. When AR first came out I was testing rangefinding on stream and made a little video about.
I have no idea about the height of vics though, I guess you could try and measure it based off the height of a dude in game. The way I'm doing it probably isn't the correct way to do all this ranging stuff but later I went into the editor and actually measured and the numbers came out really close.

It was labelled “early access” and “pre alpha” and they have consistently been treating it like that, no hype built either
it is not a scam, you can try contacting BI directly for a refund if that is what you want
imagine asking for refund when they didn't even bought the game
Well it was stated that there would be 12 months of support (early access) and then should be full release. Obviously this is subject to change, all depends on if they run into problems or not.
Currently on xbox their seems to be too little gamaster servers available as they are mostly all filled. Is it possible for the arma developers to add both modded and vanilla servers as we seemed to have no empty servers for being game master.
We can evaluate activity/server needs, but we will likely never add “modded” official servers.
Guess the merge can't come soon enough; would love to have the problem of full servers rather than empty!
That makes sense so I am assuming thats where pc crossplay comes into play. To allow xbox users to use mods on unofficial multiplayer servers?

Yes so Playstation probably has to only wait for the full release, Session did the same thing game preview on xbox/steam Playstation's version is coming Sept 22nd which is launch day for the full release. Obviously this is a different game developer but I'd assume the same to happen.

I don't think PS owners will have to wait extra time after full launch on xbox. Is what I was getting at.

I've had this issue on xbox as well in a gamemaster server with my friend. Spawned some ai and we were in the btr. If I recall it looked like the rounds get through the turret and around the turret ring and the periscope on the front of the vehicle. Sometimes the sides too

Whilst the game is in early access can we expect to see new weapons and weapon accessories I.e optics, on the official servers? Or will we have to wait for private servers and use community mods?
I think most of this is confirmed as in the works. However recall the time period the game is set In officially. Late 80s the m1 abrams only just came into service so the tech available is fairly limited
I was thinking more along the lines of say bolt action snipers, shotguns, smgs. Rather than just the assault rifl, lmg, dmr, pistol we have now

still having issues with key binds. anything about a possible fix for the keys that are hard bound and can't be changed (like caps lock for VON toggle)? currently having issue with my right mouse button. regardless of what action i bind it to, it seems to be activating my proximity chat. whether i have it set to default ADS, or as i prefer Jump, it also activates my speak function and locks it in the open setting.. quite annoying.

Most likely to keep the file small and code to set the keybinds fast, because it only has to modify the binds which are different compared to the ones already known.
You could argue that just having all keybinds in there would be faster (since it doesn't need to update), but in that case it would break if new keybinds were added or if mods add additional keybinds.
well, why don't we have access to all actions? nothing would break if a new action is added if nothing gets bound to it.
but with hard locked binds like "talk over radio" bound as (double caps), it seems to have broken something, as other keys that are not bound to that action are now activating it.
why have we yet to have an option in the control settings to (clear all binds). i'm having a hard time understanding such decisions on BIS's part here.
before i couldn't play a game for more than 20sec at time without getting disconnected, now i can't play at all because the binds are messed up and doing multiple actions regardless of what i bind or unbind.. kind of getting frustrated here.
i'm sure there is a file that can be edited in the workbench app that could possibly fix the problem, but the shear silence from BIS is really depressing.

so, while in-game. going through the options/controls, clicking on the "talk over radio" toggel bind, it seems to have bound everything i tried to bind to it, it just didn't update the call out in-game.. so it still says it's only bound to CapsLock as a double click, but in the userinput file, there are 20+ binds linked to it
if BIS would be involved it would be a completely different game, or simulator for that matter 
But all jokes aside, I get the problem of not being able to rebind all actions and I agree this needs to be implemented. And looking at the feedback tracker all your issues are being reported, and based on my knowledge of Enfusion not a big issue to do either.
Just keep in mind it's in early access and things like this can only be fixed when people report it through the correct channels, and will be worked on when more pressing issues are fixed.

Till 1) BI manages to find and fix all issues around connectivity and 2) people help them with structural feedback regarding their disconnects.
Most disconnects seem to happen at random. And its been two months since release and its still an issue. Although I do see kicks happen when people start a vote, and the vote fails they still get booted

Reforger is not available for Playstation, and it's not confirmed yet that it will be. Although I do expect it will come to the PS5 after early access has ended.

Keep in mind that the PS4 is almost 10 years old, so I doubt the hardware will be able to give a pleasant experience playing Arma Reforger, especially when modern hardware already has some issues with it (and I'm talking about game PC's, not even consoles, which are already downgraded)

You can already download the server files and set up your own server just like in a3

A single law is enough if you are close. If it doesn't burn then you will kill the crew.

Yeah sometimes. I always find myself getting dropped at the worst time. Like today when I was attacking the enemy base, grabbed a radio from the MHQ, got kicked, came back in, no radios left and my body was gone. So I walked 600m to the base. Got to the outside. Team won the game. Frankly I think Conflict is really anti-climatic. Which makes me think that maybe I'm better off getting Squad next time it's on sale.

It will be announced in a few, but this week's update will unfortunately be pushed to the next. Some last minute issues we discovered that we want to resolve first before publishing to the stable branch.
One silver lining is that this means another week of fixes and tweak's in one large update for next week.

It is a fair question... because for me even after all the patches I still crash 70% of my games
maybe because people want to play other things beside the basic reforger gamemode of conflict...
I don't think so because of those at least 10.000 initial buyers, very few where able to fully experience Conflict without crashes and most just left without even getting a taste for it (Left before the servers where fixed). I don't know if the refunds were so high or that the initial buyers are waiting for a bigger patch than just server fixes...
It is just weird that so many guys here state that the game is now working just fine for them yet the number of players is steadily on the decline... something doesn't add up
k let me tell you want to hear, reforger is a bad game, bi is lazy, we should all just uninstall the game.
That is not what I want to hear... I want to hear what trully happened to those initial buyers and why aren't them coming back? There are three answers that I can think of:
- Servers are not yet really fixed like many people claim and that is also my experience because I keep having crashes
- The refunds were incredibly high so those "returning players" are never really going to return.
- Players are waiting for a more meaningful content update
Those are the three options I can think off...
And please please don't uninstall the game! We need more players! 😉
I bought the game first day, I only have 10 / 15 hours in the game, right now reforger is theologically incredible, but gameplay wise, I have played this since arma 2 so its not that interesting.
I also think a lot of consumers are dumb, so they see WOW new arma game. Its going to be just like arma 3 which I bought 2 years ago, its going to be so great... then they install the game, get confused by the lack of content and refund the game

we dont need "more players" we need more mods, more content, more conflict features, more community created game modes, arma life, etc etc
I have always wanted that the Arma 3 devs officially ported some popular mods like enhanced movement and that is what Reforger gave me. I am happy about that but not happy about how more blurry everything is at a distance compared to just how sharp Arma 3 is. In the 500 meters or less range everything looks photo realistic in Reforger but looking past 1.000 meters everything becomes far blurrier than even Arma 3. It is an issue that also happens in DayZ so it is an Enfusion think. No matter my settings Arma 3 still looks sharper long range.

Without players who is going to fill those game modes and modded servers? Remember that if Arma Reforger life takes 50 players that means that there are only 150 players for the other game modes and mods left.... we do need more players

Reforger is probably now on the DayZ path of getting players slowly and steadily over a long period of time. For some reason modding was never big on DayZ and so the game relied on official devs content to bring back old players and also new players but hopefully with all the new tools Reforger is different

I have over 10 years in Unity and Enfusion is in many ways better than it (in many ways its also not, but still)
It is the renderer then... it makes objects and units super sharp in close proximity but far blurrier long range where you need those extra pixels to make up friendly from foe...
I also have about 4 years arma 3 modding experience and its by far the worst thing Ive developed for
so reforger and A4 has that going for it
I think in time as various modders (from in and out of the arma community) realize that, the content will only accelerate and multiply

I have save/load working in my game mode in MP, its possible for modders to do it

At the height there were 300 people using them at once. Now that's down to about 30
Need the AI to be smart for me. All they do now is run at you and sometimes try to shoot at you through buildings.
So much for a "huge" modding community. Reforger is in full blown doa red alert indeed...
Everytime I get behind buildings, and I mean several walls past the Ai unit, the ai unit would just continue firing at me as if it could see me. I always thought it was an overblown/exaggerated suppression feature but perhaps it is a bug...
Someone posted a video a week or two ago of the AI tracking another AI through the floor and wall of a building and trying to shoot him. The AI he was targeting made several turns that he seemed to follow and shouldn't have been able to know about.
Are you just using the basic saveload component? My conflict remix mission is currently not saving and never really got a solid confirmation if its just me or not.

the saveload component on its own doesnt do anything, you have to provide a SCR_MissionStruct
and manually say what to save, and then manually respawn etc on load

I wanted to spawn on someone at hornbeam valley, waited for the timer to run out, reselected the person I wanted to spawn on, made sure their icon had the white lines around it and everything, I was spawned at levie

Thanks for clarifying, I know this issue is known, but I'll have to confirm when it's likely to be patched. From my knowledge the issue sometimes lies with clicking the map vs using keyboard (A/D), where the latter will spawn you correctly. I'll see what I can find out.

I play on Xbox so I don't have the option to scroll through spawn points using A/D, however I've noticed it seems to happen regardless of if I click on the point manually or select it through the list

I'd like to know if there are plans to include custom poses/stances in Reforger or Arma 4 like the options we have in Arma 3 with ctrl + wasd. I think it's a great feature and I would miss it a lot if it isn't going to be included.

Really? I might have missed it. Only the speed with scroll wheel, which i think some people will not like but I do a lot. The only other game that I remember doing this was sniper elite 1. Does ctrl + scroll wheel adjust height? I miss being able to adjust to the sides like when checking corners or going prone to the sides and being able to roll. Me and my team used it a lot especially when playing escape and going out of the prison with only a pistol.

Why no tracked vehicles on the road map? Not trying to be an ass hole but I think there’s no reason to add ambulances:/ I rather see the M113 and the BRDM-2 then for Russias IFV to face off against the lav-25 the BMP-1 or 2. Just makes a lot more sense not gonna lie and then Moders can use your track system and work on manny cool tracked vehicles instead of having all the Moders work on there own tracks and take alot more time .. :l
Expect the ambulances to be prefabs for the existing vehicles, not completely new vehicles.

It's far too early to make any statement on Arma 4. As for disconnect issues, we are resolving those and addressing them as we find them with Reforger.

Question. Could the effects mod be added into the gamemastermode? Feel like it would be a great edition into vanila gamemaster. Simple fire effects, artillery and smoke can go miles for immersion

It has been quite often ruini g ops on xbox. Id say 3-3/4 times. A group of trolls would spawn in game and team kill, killing themselves/stopping for a moment to restet their ban kill count or timer, whichever is being used.
Is there any way in the future that trolls can be prevented or delt with? In general and in game.

I think you guys may have got less flack had the roadmap been out at release. I know when I bought it I was surprised AI couldn't drive given how that is a fundamental Arma feature. Having it on the roadmap would have been an indicator that it wasnt in yet. But I was also surprised by the lack of listen servers and integrated mission editor which aren't on the roadmap and those are also fundamental Arma elements to me. So maybe you would have got less sales from having it out too.

Your display mode in-game affects your fps, mouse latency when moving around in every game. I hope Bohemia they will add **fullscreen ** option in display mode selection so some people will have a better experience in Arma Reforger and Arma 4

To enable cross-play they first need to enable it in the game (so both PC and Xbox need an update), and so does the server (which should be at the same time as the PC update).
After that the servers need a change in settings for cross-play to be enabled.
Although I'm not sure if cross-play will be available already, since it means that future updates will require to be at the same time on PC and consoles (to prevent version mismatching). Otherwise PC/Server is updated and consoles can't play for 1-2 days because it has no update yet.

I have a problem with my Arma Reforger.
I can't launch my Arma and i don't know why.
And region tbh, I'm in the PNW and servers are slim always maybe 1-3 32pl servers have a decent amount of players, and then there's like 2-4 16pl servers going with decent player counts. That said there are like 15+ servers that are 100% empty most of the time. I think player counts will start to rise after the ground support update is out imo.

Instead of distinct standing positions, you can use Ctrl+mouse wheel to interpolate between stance heights seamlessly, adjustable prone and lower crouch stances are missing however. Additionally, left and right stance positions are also missing

As of today servers can be configured to support PC-and-Xbox-in-the-same-match, albeit Xbox players do not yet have keyboard/mouse (KB/M) support
If console players want to play with PC players it's their problem to not have KBM 
Most FPS games don't have cross-play for this exact reasons, because without KBM you're always in the negative. Unless some aim-assist gets implemented, but then it's unfair for the PC players.
FOR NOW (not having KB/M)... although from what I recall some console-designed/ported-to-PC games will add aim assist as an option when a controller is plugged in

I assume the ambulances will carry medical supplies that you can grab, but what other functions will there be involving them 🤔 there are medical tents. Maybe that's more for the mods and custom RP servers.

its all fairly basic stuff like do's and don'ts and do you really need this in your script instead of something simple
the vast majority will follow vanilla content as it is available on pc (since modding happens on pc anyways). Will see how many will spend their free time to cater to a different crowd than PC (and where they cannot really test themselves). In theory things should work more or less the same until xbox limit is reached (and that limit is left to be seen)
I saw a "platform hardware" under workbench > options > game project > engine. There is no pc & xbox option though. 🤷♂️

You have to rent a server, than enable crossplay on the server script. And add in the mods manually to the sever. Best spot for questions about that is over on the #reforger_servers group of real helpful folk over there.

The Game EULA targets the content created within the game, so does not include modding that are created via the Tools and shared on the workshop. The services (e.g. Workshop) have their own texts that supersede or complete the game EULA. I'm still trying to work on getting a clear legal explanation for the community written up to explain those differences of Game EULA, Tools EULA, and Workshop ToU.
I'd assume refuse to answer as it was asking in June and none of the people I asked have gotten responses. Most likely as they figure out the correct legal jargon to answer with.

Hey guys! Will they release something similar to the ED3N editor for Reforger? I dont think I have seen anything confirming either way but I have not been following religiously. I am aware of the Enfusion engine tool but its far more complicated than ED3N was.

Correct, it came in mid-February 2016, almost three years after Arma 3 went public (Early Access) in early March 2013... however before that there was still a version of the classic 2D editor for which a bunch of A2 knowledge still carried over

yes, I can rebind keys, its just that I want a certain action you need to HOLD the keys instead of just press. I cant remember on top of my head the default settings that use this. like HOLD R or something
no you cant, since you have the option to cancel with those interactions by releasing
i think the only options they have are toggle options are for the sight
There is one for underbarrel GL. Press V to change fire mod, HOLD V to change to UGL... I just thought I can use the HOLD keys for other things also

Long time Arma fan here, will buy A4 on the PC. This time round I bought AR on Xbox. Since DayZ on Xbox feels quite smooth and responsive on the Enfusion engine, is this what Bohemia are aiming for with AR on the Xbox? It feels a little too clunky and laggy right now (I get its a Game Preview).
DayZ doesn't use Enfusion technically. It's a RV-Enfusion hybrid.
Maybe the feeling is there because AR can't hold a steady 60 FPS on XB, yet.

One can only apply ideas from different games, not performance, right? 🙂
The game is still Early Access with plenty of various performance bottlenecks. By the time it reaches it's final release version it is quite possible its framerate is more stable.
On the other hand, some people might find things clunky because certain animations are too long, can't be interrupted, or because of how fast characters move relative to their animations. Also, different people have different expectations and perceive things in an unique way.
Without you going a bit more into detail it's somewhat difficult to assess what exactly might be wrong (therefore a more complex answer).
Its fine, a longer answer isn’t necessary. I was merely commenting on the fact the other game has the same devs, and that if they made necessary amendments to Enfusion which improved FPS and stability then they might want to follow the same route this time round. That would probably be difficult to implement and not cause weird visual glitches like floating trees. There are some trenches on Everon already I think though... that or they're only there in Conflict but I assume they're always there

yea, game isn't that far in yet, my advice is too just tell them to go to said location, attack/defend, and you decide if they won or defeat
they might not even put those in either, they might make it so the map has a marker on the area that you need to go too, but you may have to navigate via the map and not a onscreen marker

Try lower some settings... if it still locked at 60fps, then it's not normal. I can get up to 80fps in certain condition(s). Normally I got around 50-55
There is a way but it is glitched. You go to game master, hit dpad left(scenarios), press a and then hold Y(brings up a wheel where you can place objective markers). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t

For modded servers, do I have to meticulously download all mods and arrange them or will servers just prompt what I need and download them?

I don't know about NVDIA, but AMD has certain settings that can set minimum FPS and/or max FPS and can be profiled to particular games

Part of the reason may be that the two big changes for A3 from the launcher (Steam Workshop integration for mod setup and the server browser allowing automatic mod setup) are now integrated in-game

Nope, that's what Arma 4 is for... this was announced during the reveal stream to be a testbed for that. To elaborate on Jakerod's answer to your questions:
- The Mi-8MT (this designation was used by Arma 2's ChDKZ version of the Mi-8/Mi-17) and UH-1H (last seen in A2: OA) will arrive in next year's Air Assault update. They will be represented in
mounted machine gunconfigurations and use aStandard helicopter flight model, however there's been no promise of the AI being able to pilot these helicopters, although I expect that they'll be able to act as both gunners and passengers. - Later next year (I presume before July 2023) in the Final Strike update both Arma 2's 2B14 and M252 will return, both of which the AI will be able to operate; these are

I should warn that the above descriptions of the two helicopters and two mortars are based on a roadmap (https://reforger.armaplatform.com/news/roadmap) which represents what the devs 'know' that they can deliver before the game leaves Early Access; I believe that almost nothing that's not on here should be considered 'promised'.
Which admittedly does mean that dedicated attack helicopters, tracked ground vehicles, watercraft, and fixed-wing aircraft are not guaranteed to ever be officially released...
Well if fixed wing aircraft are not in reforger then lets hope they are in arma 4!!

Why did you guys go back to being able to walk through bushes? I feel like you haven't been able to do that since Arma 2 if not Armed Assault. Seems like a weird choice since the center of bushes aren't easy to get through and at the very least should slow you down.

More for #reforger_workbench I think. But you should be able to duplicate a file to your mod for editing by right clicking on it in workbench.

I hoped Arma would never be released on consoles in general, but excluding one for no reasons doesn't make sense at all.
That said; PS is most likely getting an AR release (based on source code available), and cross-play suggests all combinations of platforms.
So my educated guess is that the PS will be included in cross-play with/against Xbox and PC.

Moving the game to an ssd worked for someone in our discord.
Also, I left the game when I got this error, got back a day later and it started working for some reason.

you would be surprised how much people use the helicopter and how effectively they use it. it's great but still bugged af
My limited experience once they added the helicopter was I, as a Soviet player, was able to take sectors all the way up to Tyrone and take it before I ever saw a BLUFOR player. And my first encounter with BLUFOR players was a helicopter flying overhead firing into the Tyrone camp and hitting nothing. And I think they had more players on their team than us.

Your first mistake is playing as the ivans. on the blue side while waiting for the helies to spawn we be having pistol duels, boxing matches and fight club is open 24/7 at the airfield. sometime if we have a large group the pilot will take us sight seeing to one of the small islands. as a skeleton crew we fly about and hunt for any lone unsuspected btr.
and the most fun starts when we have a good pilot like klumpi or carlos flying, then we start some serious assaults on points with them dropping the infantry and then providing air support. looks cool af.
And that's one of the reasons why I've stopped playing on the server. It's not fun taking 90% of the island unopposed. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the server was full but it seems like the player count on it dropped off at least when I play.
The day crossplay launched for Xbox I had 3 games in a row essentially uncontested all the way to the end because the US team was too busy trying to fly helicopters instead of doing anything else. The first game we didn't see a single American until we were taking their HQ and even then it was just the bots
if you were playing with mods then that's also why there were less players
the PBS server is always popated. it's full at gmt evening even hough they run mods.

I actually expected stuff like this to happen, although with Steam it should be able to not auto-update the server (but requires you to manually do it each time).
And it shouldn't stop the stop, update and restart it automatically anyway, but I guess the crashes also apply to the server.

Same applies to mods;~~ you can disable auto-update in Steam, so they won't be updated~~ (not sure how this would work on Xbox though, since I'm sure it will automatically update everything when the mod is required on the server, or even on start-up).

I've noticed some bullets hit the enemy's rifle if his carring it across his chest. Especially with FIA rpk guys. I can watch shells of teammates hit the guys rpk and bounce off.
