Right click speaker icon, bottom right on task bar.
select Sounds/audio
select recording tab,
Right click your mic,
check Set default
and Set default for communication
then restart game,

in privacy i checked and last time the game accessed the mic was in 2023
and its allowed to activate it
arma 3 has full access into firewall just in case
Firewall has nothing to do with mic, also its best pratice to disable incoming traffic to it, unless you host server for friends.
Maybe battleye is blocking driver.
Start game, but keep launcher open,
in the battleye tab, see if it gives any messages

try this, for a fun little experiment. Go into editor, spawn a single dude, on top bar press "Play", select "Play in multiplayer (MP)", press OK, select role and press OK again, then try to talk

VoN uses a separate connection to the main game iirc, do you have any firewall or antivirus settings that might be blocking it?

FYI, a bunch of Lambs AI mods do not play well with Antistasi Ultimate (or Community Mod for that matter) Probably not related, but you might reconsider/test it.

when i get to the antistasi menu with saves, this error shows up and after pressing OK i throws me back to the role selection screen, here are the mods i got on

Likely the ACE DLL is still blocked by battleye, you'll have to disable BE for now until they fix whatever the problem is

Everything is working fine except you can't loot dead AI properly, mostly magazines and grenades can't be looted for some reason, they're only lootable if you equip the container it was in or drop it on the floor, then you can loot the magazines/grenades like normal.
I bet it's the mod load order or one of the mods is fucking with it but I can't tell what and it seems to be basically the same mod load order for all the other Antistasi servers I've hosted in the past..

Lately (since yeasterday) my game randomly crashes and it gives me a message in battle eye about blocking TFAR =

Using Host Havoc or Nitrado and TFAR doesn't work its been set up in TS3 server and moves us into the TFAR channel when entering the server but we cant hear anything in game even though the TS3 overlay shows it trying to transmit any ideas

Spawned one through Zeus and there was no issues there
Can't be sure with ultimate, but normally Antistasi is just a local setUnitLoadout.
Actually ultimate must be somewhat different because we don't use those O/B units anymore. Like every east/west unit is created with the same empty base unit and then filled with setUnitLoadout.
That always happens to me with certain units in the campaigns with no mods loaded. The weird part is it always and only happens with AI that were killed by a script and not a bullet. It might have to do with some sort of simulation being off. PhysX awake and related stuff being turned off for bodies maybe, but I have no idea.
Not loading the same mods I guess.

Loaded arma 3 up today, was having issues with the game hard freezing when loading up a world, so I removed some mods and now the game cooks my GPU on every launch, removed all mods, verified files, still does this. The game is unplayable everything else works on my computer so it's not my computer having the issue

it was the gpu artifacting, and i took my pc apart, cleaned it all out, put it together and its all working fine for now

Certain things will just push the GPU in the right area to cause the fault (if it is a hardware problem)

You need to make your own Zeus mission I think. IIRC you can't use mods in that one. When you make a Zeus mission, you choose if the Zeus can use stuff from mods or only the base game.

place the zeus module down, and edit it's properties, there's a section which dictates what modules you are allowed to load

i have a wierd issue where ive repackaged some opensource assets that are no longer being maintained and was part of a larger total conversion mod (with permission ofcourse) as we just needed some of the custom buildings, i put the pbos in the mod and resigned them with my bikey however on the server with verify signatures on it says that they are not signed by a key recognised by the server even though the bisigns are there and the key is there, is this because they were allready prebuilt pbos?
I'd guess you didn't give the server the right key
no i looked it has the right key, my build process creates a new private key with the current git tag version names so the bisigns are all V5 and the key is also V5
Are you certain that you are giving the public key to the server?
And are you certain that the public key from the public/private key pair is in the accepted keys folder for the server?
yes, i double checked everything and its only the prebuilt pbos that i resigned that are throwing the error my own pbos that were built and signed rather than just copied and signed arent giving errors for the key

If you do, then just build and sign from source files might be easier

There is no Zeus tab.
You need a lot more than just that. Here are the steps. I will not tell you how to do them because you can find out that on your own.
- Go to the terrain you want
- Place down the characters you want
- Set them as playable
- Set the correct respawn type
- Place the Zeus game logic
- Place the Game Master module
- Set up the Game Master settings
- Set up the composition level in the description.ext to allow scripts

I have been carrying on this too long and i cant for sake of me figure this out. I'm trying to pack my shit in a pbo file but addon builder doesn't like that and gives me the result code 1 all the dam time. I have check this this text up and down and around the town to have nothing pop up as a error, i need help before i go to sleep.

hey there, was wondering if anyone could help me out, im getting a circular addon dependency error in arma 3 and have no clue what to do. ive reinstalled the game, tried disabling each mod to see what if one was causing it, verified files, reinstalled mods, all that stuff. i have the zip with the lastest crash report if need be. thanks in advance :)
You can't get rid of a circular dependency problem unless you remove all of the mods in the dependency chain. And Arma won't tell you what they are, so good luck with that.
Either reduce to a known-good set and add stuff gradually, or use binary search methods to isolate the bad group.
I'm experiencing a really weird bug with ace loaded. When I have ace loaded specifically, I cannot enter nor exit vehicles. Both the scroll wheel menu and ace menu do not have a get in option, and when i start in a vehicle, the same is true and i also cannot eject. all keys are binded, the vehicle is not locked, basically everything i can think of is working and this only happens when ace is loaded

Figured out it was ace, and all the ace dependent mods I had installed. Still dont really understand why its throwing that error though or how to fix it :(

presumably its one of these, but i've not actually seen this kind of error message before
as for this, .rpt refers to arma's log files and they're usually quite handy for figuring out certain issues, so you might need to find them later

To share an rpt log here, please use a website like https://pastebin.com/ (Set expiry time to 1 week or less) to upload the full log, that way the people helping you can take a look at it and try to figure out the problem you're having together with you.

At least for official servers, why do half of them disappear in game server browser after you join and leave a game and the other half dissapear after you join and leave another server?
Hey i have a Probblem , my Launcher is stuck in "Starting Steam Service" , i cant add Local Mods / Local Mods cant get loaded , i reinstalled Steam , Arma 3 and deleted the "Arma 3 Launcher" Folder. Still the Same Problem , any idea to fix that ?
ASnyone know how to fix the problem where when I try to open my guys arsenal through ace or BI arsenal, it changes my guys uniform and vest and everything as soon as it opens?

The file from unpacking would be a .paa, not a .tga
You need to convert it with TexView2 beforehand
If you are trying to build a mod, your paths to a3 might be mucked up
Using either mikero's tools for P drive setup, or using hemtt configured is recommended
the paths are fine as the rvmats all load fine i just didnt realise i had to convert the paa into a tga
Just be aware, if you want it to use vanilla as a dependency, it should be using a paa, since all of the vanilla pbos use paa for all (or nearly all) texture and image files
I think all that's required in that case is to change the path to point to the .paa instead of pointing to a .tga that you have to create

The paths were fine, the only thing it couldn't fine was the tgas because they didn't exist in the folders
Tgas should not exist. The game internally uses. Paa.
And any tga you might have should get converted to PAA when you pack the pbo (assuming right tools/workflow) ((pbo manager is not the right tool))
I don't use pbomanager, I use armake and armake2 with a power shell acript, it was looking for tgas as they were hard linked in some of the P3Ds

Yeah it all seems to be working now that I've added the tgas to the include folder, I had never experienced tga's before so was a little confused on if something had gone wrong when unpacking the game data
Unpacked data normally gets referenced as .paa in all vanilla files as like I said, the original tga should not get packed into the pbo.
One reason to reference tga can be the automated conversion that happens on binarization and that one can skip the manual conversion if the tga still gets re exported from original texturing project.
Also Object Builder viewport can draw tga and png if they are assigned on a model.

For some reason locking on when in helicopters is wildly inconsistent for me. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. Does anyone know what might be causing that?
I have an Issue where my game defaults to very low textures. I can fix it temporarily by changing sampling but it reverts back in a few min and even then im stuck to standard. I had access to higher textures before just don't know why it doesn't work now. The textures also don't load in til my very close to them for some reason.

Probably means that the game thinks it doesn't have enough VRAM.

GPU drivers only report a half gig of dedicated memory and Arma doesn't like that.

A3 doesn't need much of a GPU so you can use any old crap. A 1060 is fine.

You are likely also able to increase the max vram available in your BIOS to use more ram(you'll have to look it up in your motherboard manual), but performance will still be pretty bad
So ive used the default "User" profile to make missions and after realizing I cant rename it, I made a new profile, which now uses a different default mission location.
Ive tried changing the profile location parameter to the default my documents/arma 3 directory but it didnt seem to do anything
only temporary solution I can think of is just copying all of the old missions to the new user
The main profile is in Documents\Arma 3. The secondary profiles are in Documents\Arma 3 - Other profiles\PROFILENAME. You are better off moving the files that are important to you, to the other folder and rename them to the new profilename (like thise files ending in .arma3profile) Or whichever are saved in the other folders.
The main profile is simply based off of your Windows/Operating system username. Can't change that.

That error basically means something broke
I get it semi-randomly when closing the game, very occasionally other times
All you can really do is check rpt, check modlist (broken mods can cause it far more often), and send report as the last resort.

All I can think of is running out of ram, and Arma crashing.
You could try a different malloc, if ram is the issue, any of the default ones or mimalloc might work better. Not certain at all though
You can upload the report/crash files, as mentioned in that bot response and the screenshot you posted, to the bohemia Interactive Feedback tracker site. Then the devs perhaps can tell you (the next working day at the soonest) what in particular caused the crash. Only they are able to decode those crash dumps.
Though I do remember someone having a similar experience of the game crashing only on 64bit and not on 32-bit.

Steam might not allow downloading of content while you have a game running (the launcher), you could try either closing the launcher and trying, try to force start it from the downloads page of Steam, or enable the setting that allows you to download while in game

got a strange problem. With last update on dev-branch all maps in eden editor are blocked and need to buy a DLC (free maps like Altis and VR also need it). All files were checked by Steam and game started without mods

Depending on where you got that System32 folder content from, you might have infected your system if you downloaded that somewhere suspicious from the web. I would ask someone else with a working system to use the Microsoft website to download the installation media to USB.
But since you are very new at this tech stuff, I do suggest you leave that reinstalling of Windows to professionals like a repair shop. They can probably also save your personal documents before doing a full system wipe.

Don't know if I'll have any luck but worth a shot, currently trying to host a server for a small group of friends. When I try to do a server through arma 3 direct they can't find it and when I try to do a nitrado server I can't get any missions that I set up to work, I'm running out of ideas and curious to see if anyone can help
Former is normal unless you're experienced in port forwarding. Latter is normal for Nitrado.

Make sure to port forward the entire UDP port range 2302-2306 to your hosting computer.
And make sure Arma 3 (client for localhosting and Arma 3 server if you use a dedicated server) can receive traffic from the internet through your firewall. (Windows Defender firewall: allow public network access)
That means you didnt forward correctly. Since you two are behind same router, you can join each other without the need for forwarding

There's an issue that the modlist can't fit in the space available to transmit it if the modlist is too large
If it's possible, sharing a mod preset is the most reliable workaround, though optional mods aren't shown without extra effort

On a dedicated server you can increase steamProtocolMaxDataSize to work around it.

there are no magic boosts so only thing you can do is fiddle with the graphics settings

We get a regular trickle of people with extremely low A3 frame rates in #hardware_vs_arma and never found a reason. Windows reinstall probably works.

since this performance update I have issues, never had them before that - low FPS, stuttering - before things run fine, what did they do to the game?! (did not chance any of the settings I have been using for years now and did not update anything else or install anything new)

no nothing of the sort, did not make any changes to the settings either
noticed it yesterday but more so today, up to the point of checking on here if there is anything I am missing or have to do
try a brand new game profile, and/or autodetect settings?
do not have such a powerful computer but things ran pretty well

Hi guys, our clan concluded two events today, one with 50+ people and second with 20 people, both sessions had problems with disappearing assets (a tank disappeared and could not be spawned via Zeus - vanished from the listings as well), invisible trees and assets. On top of that, one of the scenarios was set up in a jungle and it seems like grass cutters caused massive desync and/or FPS drops for more than two thirds of the people
will give the autodetect a spin and see if it helps, otherwise play around with the settings (but from what I can tell those settings did not really change, i.e. there are no new options in there, at least as far as I can tell)
Both scenarios were simple Zeus setups with basic respawns. Running light modpack used before, the second was heavy modded and had more performance issues (jungle one)
We have played both scenarios in the past without issues, they were only slightly modified (scenery evolution, some assets were moved and locations populated by AIs)
@glass grove There are some cases (no HT, <16 cores) where it may help a lot to reduce cpuCount slightly.

It's trivial but it doesn't matter unless you have a CPU that matches that description.
Unless you know what your CPU is you won't know what to set it to.

has anyone had any issues connecting to servers since the latest update? i can connect to the server from direct connect, i get to a loading screen where i see "$my_user connecting" (and can see other people joining/leaving), but it never actually puts me in the lobby
other people are able to join just fine, though. it's a modded server, but i've connected to this specific server with this specific version of the modpack just fine as recently as monday. no network changes on either side since. validated game files

wondering if maybe it's a network issue, but i can still direct connect to my desired server/it shows up in the direct connect browser after putting the IP in/i can get to the load screen and there's clearly traffic passing since i see people joining/leaving
not running any software firewall on my pc, and no changes to my router firewall
also, neither the server nor i are running battleye

Hello, i am having an issue where the only way I can join my friend's server is through the launcher, and we are using the cold war mobilization DLC, but when I join his server, it automatically disables the DLC in the DLC tab, the game mode we are running is Antistasi and we really want to play. Anyone know how to fix this?
It automatically disables the DLC, what is "it"? Launcher? Do you press "unload please" button or something?

Is the server definitely using the DLC and not the compat patch?
That doesn't (shouldn't) really matter because it is 1:1 file
Yeah but I can imagine the client disabling the DLC if it's not advertised on the mod list
More likely whatever weirdness stops you from joining through the server browser and not the launcher
Hello i am having issues with the radar where i cant lock any targets using r, it only work while looking at the target and pressing r and it doesnt matter if im on a ground vehicle or helo/ jet
Downloaded ACE3 along with a bunch of other mods and i keep getting this error which ultimately makes the game close. I looked it up and saw lots of people with the same issue but couldn't find any specific fix
So i use AZERTY keyboard but the game does not care about this and just shows whatever QWERTY button matches that layout. Is there a technical reason as to why this can't be fixed?

Yes, i have launched the game with both buttons, and it isn’t showing up. When i am about to enter the password to join my friends server, the “Play with mods & DLC’s” switched to “Play with mods” And I can’t join from the in-game server browser as it immediately disconnects me when I join.

how comes, that on the client side without any mods, going to multiplayer results into 151494 into .rpt file after 30 min of playing in there which didn't happen before, there are no mods on the client side

That honestly doesn't look like a (C)DLC issue but something on the server's end. Can you join an official GM server?

Your crash is because a sound failed to load, probably because generally something went wrong with loading. I've fixed it for future
Have been seeing something similar since a profiling update, now running 2.20
Players join, cannot press the OK button, and eventually are kicked for Battleye: Query Timeout if they do not disconnect by themselves
The same players have no faults reported with their battleye, cannot solve it by reinstalling battleye/changing port/restarting/any usual solutions
This happens inconsistently between multiple servers, pointing to it not being a client-sided battleye fault, but the culprit is pretty much always a much higher traffic server
What can I do to gather information to solve this?
Their BattlEye is not connecting.. They could try reinstalling their local BattlEye client

How and in what order are the mods loaded? Do all players have the mods in the same order?
Can't say much on the order of clients as figuring out what 100s of people have is difficult, but the server is keyed so all mods are the same and it's the same list we have been using for about 6 months with no changes.
