I have a question for anybody who's got a good grasp of the way the mechanics work in this game, when I use a specific combination of mods, ace, spearhead 1944, ifa3, and faces of war,
In my earlier months of learning this game and scenario editor I remember trying to play a mission with these four mods present and two things happened, 2 errors;
1.cfg/errorvehicle_dest_effects - cause game to crash upon tank destruction?
2.Cfg_somethingsomething_max_turret_rot_speed - affected ai's ability to aim or fire static weapon emplacements (mortar,mg,howitzer, flak36)
(general description sorry I couldn't remember exact error messages)
So just to clarify I ended up fixing issue 2 with a couple of compatibility patches but my question is I just want to understand what the conflicts were. I've concluded that error 1: is a connection between ifa3 and spe tanks and how they receive damage. Error number two is a bit more ambiguous, however I can confirm that the air goes away whenever Ace is not present. So I believe it's something to do with the way Ace effects turret rotation possibly?
@quaint jewel someone recommended I post this and see if you'd be willing to take a look at it

my mac can run arma at 120fps, but the limitations on the mac versions are rlly annoying
could be that BE does not support it, not sure how deep it nests itself in the system. Does it work if you uncheck battleye in the launcher?

might be worth it to write an email to battleye then regarding support for Whisky environment. Or if game developers are supposed to do it, post in #linux_mac_branch. Not sure who handles the compatibility in this case.
And I guess for the timebeing you'll have to stick to proton or any other derivative that works.

Keep getting this error when trying to restart reforger and arma3. I have redownloaded it and reinstalled battleeye 4 times and the problem persists. Has anyone ran into this issue?
So I have a player who has a very unusual problem, and I am trying to determine what might be the cause.
We have ACE loaded, but this player, for whatever reason, does not seem to suffer from ACE damage. It's this particular player who is desynced and while other players will take damage this player will not. On their screen, supposedly, they are still losing blood and taking damage. But I have a plugin with Zeus that shows them taking no wounds, and when I check their ACE damage directly, surely enough, no wounds.
Really, what I am trying to figure out is if there is a client-side mod or a replacement PBO/DLL/whatever for ACE that cheats and allows you to just not take damage when ACE is loaded.
Are you running a dedicated server with signature verification?

To fix said error I had to completely reinstall windows, I tried reinstalling steam and to no avail it didn’t work.

It seems like Battleye has suddenly started blocking all .dlls that were previously registered as being OK.
E.g. ace .dlls (like advanced ballistics, clipboard etc)
But also memory allocators that have been registered for over a year like mimalloc_v212.dll

after a reinstallation i suddenly got rare and random short black screens, only last a second or two, completely black, no hud - nothing, and it goes back to normal after this

Whut? Makes no sense what you write there. If it is supposed to be a IPv4 address then there should be dots/periods in between those digits. You make them look like a port number which makes no sense.
If changing the DNS server address in your network settings fixed Reforger Battleye issues then it just meanst Google DNS is quicker than your ISP DNS server updating their database of IPs. It should only be a temporary thing.
and another question, for some reason my server when i spawn items/weapons within side containers it spawns tens of 1000s instead of whatever number i typed in, it does not matter if i use local or global exec, any way to stop this?
"Same mods as before and never had a problem" means nothing. Mods can get updated. And mods can interfere with each other. At the very least, list those mods you are using. Otherwise it is a guessing game.
Also, specify the command. Maybe there is a variable type cast issue in your SQF.

directx 11 is no such thing, its bundled with windows so, system repair needed. dx9 redist is useless to attempt to reinstall in general unless it somehow completely got unregistered or something.

idk, make sure its well seated, well plugged, drivers are all correct, see if the issue persists on a separate instllation with all the needed dependencies installed, try downgrading the driver, get it checked via warranty rma if yyou have that

If this happened in a brand new laptop (mine), and after investigation I learned that this issue started after Microsoft made an update with stricter timing on hardware drivers doing their thing, I figured it was worth a shot. And it works since then. Haven't had that error since.

Adjust the ACE medical settings in Addon Settings. Like threshold for unconcious. But if you get hit by high caliber bullets, you bite the dust quickly. It's the way it is.
If you disable TDR and the GPU drivers do hang, it won't come back. That's about it.
Increasing the timeout is preferable to disabling it entirely.

Hmmm, on linux and with proton, proton GE, and native, the game crashes while heavily modded stating it's unable to initialize DXGI. This doesn't happen with the same preset and parameters on Windows.
Without mods the game works just fine.

also tried this command twice:

instead of creating a box, it created a bunch which started exploding and flying everywhere

I don't know which debug console you're using. The stock one has a button with a clock symbol that you can press to run a performance check on a command. It does this by running it thousands of times.
If you just click "local", there shouldn't be any visible effect and the command will simply run once.
That box that pops up with a time & run count is from the perf test. Which you do not want.

i probably had a typo in the first few times i tried spawning stuff, so at some point when i corrected my typo i pressed the performance test button
then it worked, and i thought you had to select the mode: i.e. server exec, global, local and then press that button

you will need to test it without other mods to see if its a problem in the mod or problem with combining it with some mods you got

So after an arma reinstall, three full modpack reinstalls, changing load order plus checking with parameters on and off on profiling branch I seem to be stuck with a very persistant issue.
As stands I can't seen to be able to get past the pre-lobby loading screen (loading bar not even showing, arma taking 0% cpu usage, esc instantly brings me back to the server browser,
only getting a connecting message in chat box, no connected message shown but I do see others connecting and making a connection to the server in the chat)
Oddly enough this only happens when I try to connect to my units server (even tried without mods and it did not even give me anything about missing mods/content)
Other servers both modded and unmodded I have no issue.
As stands I seem to be the only one with this issue from my unit and I'm really hoping someone might have a clue.

Mission PBO was ran on a friend's pc aswell to test and I had no issue connecting and loading in to that
Normally in the rpt file I should get the Starting mission: line but as shown in the shared rpt file, that just doesnt want to occur

Turns out it was some type of setting in arma 3 launcher, I reset my launcher settings and it has magically begun to work? , wasnt expecting that because I had already wiped my cache and profiles

Currently having an issue with my MILSIM Server, I recently added a New Modpack to the Server and the Server has been stuck in the "Waiting Status" I automatically thought it was a mod issue until I unloaded all the mods and realised the Mission was still not working, coming to realise there was an issue with mission in particular I believe.
I tried loading on an Empty Map with no assests (modded map) and it loaded so there's something in particular wrong with my Training Grounds Mission but the only thing being returned in the RPT is this missing addon, which never used to appear and doesn't have any correlation to the mods so I am wondering how I could fix my mission file or whatever this problem may be as I couldn't find anything on threads online?
That tiny screenshot is not going to help much. Upload the entire RPT file so others can read the important parts.
I think I may of figured it out, I found what that addon is calling from, it's from a particular mod so I am removing all assets and the mod from the mission file to see if I get a successful load, wait one!
Looks like there is a missing dependanct for some mod. Or the mod you think is there, is empty or partially downloaded.
I didn't realise I could unbinarize the SQM file so that showed me so much info I needed
Removed the Mod and the addons it was looking for in the SQM, for some reason it wasn't automatically removing it after uninstalling both client and server end. Back up and working!
I still have this bug where after I exit a scenario or campaign where I have saves I don't get the resume , continue or load save option. I tried reinstalling the game and stuff but it didn't fix anything.
All my scenarios also don't have the little boxes in them usually which indicate that you have saves in that mission
is the video about first or second issue? When you finish a scenario, all saves are deleted.
regarding the 2nd one I think it's been like that for quite some time now with Steam missions, don't remember if they are missing a proper key or something or just a compatibility issue, but all the missions you played through will be marked with a mouse icon on Workshop.

I mean I also have the same issue if I save the mission while playing, then exit the game and go back in I can't resume the mission

and do you alt-f4 or exit the game with all the proper buttons? There's also a chance that the saves simply break, but you can make them appear manually with some messing around in the Document files.

20mb is a pretty big save so it's possible Arma just kills the process before the file is created

I mean you probably could write your own cmd file and have it run automatically on windows start or whatever, but it's type of scripting I don't know anything tbh.
the cause was never found
it could be related to the Windows version, system language, your in-game name, weird symbols within hte scenario. It's not consistent for everybody

it probably was a cmd or bat file, but I don't know powershell, cant' write it for you. If you make an account on Forums you could post a request somewhere, there definitely are people who either have this backed up or can make one from scratch

Can you show the path to that folder with these files? It there "Onedrive" mentioned anywere in that path? Onedrive tends to disrupt saving of files in your profile.

But did you notice you have a space character in your Arma 3 profile "Finn%20" means "Finn ". Don't know if that is related though. Might be harmless.

I've got a problem with updating my scenario. When I go through EDEN to publish the update in the "Workshop Scenario Management" screen it says it's unpublished but it's clearly in my workshop and public? Any idea what causes this and how to fix it?

turn the FSAA to max and see if it changes anything.

In the video it's distant houses through a scope, and it's varying per frame. I guess some tiny amount of sway is enough for that.

Hi, I'm brand new and using Ace for wind and the like. I'm aware it has a new healing system, I got to the point of checking my limbs for injuries and nothing showed as injured. But I was moving incredibly slowly and had a cross indicator underneath my grenade count. Is this a bug or am I missing something.

Hey been having a problem and cant seem to find a solution. Created a mission for me and 2 friends, anytime they enter a vehicle they cannot exit without being teleported back into the vehicle. after exiting they see themselves as having exited the vehicle whereas noone else see them. if they change seats using the ACE menu their models are duplicated. When they are teleported back in, on thier screen they are headlocked and cannot look around. Hope someone else has seen a fix for this ty much
You are probably overburdened with weight. Loose some pounds.

The bar under your grenade count is your stamina. And a cross would imply something is at it's limit or nothing left. So that would be the most logical explanation. But I will admit, I cannot reproduce that image in my game. But maybe that is because I didn't have enough heavy items at hand (fresh start of Antistasi Community mod)
If you are hurt, or was before, I suppose that could put a temporary limit on your stamina.
isn't the cross an indication you're wounded? Could be damage done through a mod that does not support ACE medical.
And I wasn't hurt in my test, so yeah maybe some body damage was left somehow in your situation.
Hey guys, seem to be having a weird freezing issue whenever I try to enter the bootcamp training mission. The moment I click on it, it freezes and my PC seems to not be able to do any input's, so am having to hard reset the PC every time. Weirdly some of the single player campaigns seem to work through. Any help would be much appreciated.

idk if this is the right place to ask, but some vehicles from RHSUSAF (Some MRAPs and some CARs), are currently getting disabled (engine 100% damage and body 90%), by a few shots in the side, if not 1 shot often

My buddy and I ran into an issue last night in a multiplayer mission that I made for the two of us. After some amount of time when he would exit a vehicle I would still see him in the vehicle but on his screen he was running around. The only was to get everything back to normal was if he died and he would respawn but the same thing would happen if we got back into any vehicle. I’ve never seen this happen before so any help figuring out what it could be would be great

Sorry for the late response. The AI will follow us around on missions since they are still in the squad, and if they get shot during the mission they respawn and run back. As far as I can tell it's a fully fleshed Arma AI with the only exception being that they don't seem to shoot at enemies.

Alt F4 is a down right kill instant. Like in Task Manager. So any files the game has open might not get closed properly. One would expect the game to open mods only as read-only. But better be safe and close properly. Unless there is no other way and stuff hangs.

Yeah. I had A3 on 2 accounts and when I switched between them Steam would delete mods that were not subscribed to on the other account

I think you shouldn't mess with that setting, just remove it and check then.
Only edge cases should modify this setting.
This was reduced due to some players having infinite loading screens upon connecting. It was mentioned as potential fix by Dwarden.
Safe to say, we didnt have inf loading screens since. But given that they appear at seemingly random, could also just have been luck.
Also, in exact same configuration it worked, until today.
But anyhow. I put it back to 1400 and hope inf loading screens dont start appearing again

Did anyone notice connection issues after the 2.18 update? My connection does not even appear in the servers connection or .rpt log. Did not change anything to my config/server/firewall. Also tried to host a plain a3 server without any configuration and a fresh install in an empty directory. Before the update i was able to connect just fine.
I tried disabling battleye - same issue.
If you are on 2.18, but the server isn't updated yet, then it won't work regardless.

I play on the Mike Force Bro Nation servers. After today’s update, my game freezes when accessing the servers, and I can only restart my PC using the Task Manager. I tried vanilla servers, and I managed not to freeze. I reinstalled Arma, the DLC, verified the Steam cache, removed mods, and tried every solution I could find online. I didn’t receive any ban or other warnings. I need help. Thanks.

@fading pulsar Since 2.18, if you have many mods. The network packet that sends you the list of mods and dlcs on the server (you see them in server browser, bottom right), can go right up ot 1300 bytes + some headers. I don't remember how large the headers are, might be 76 bytes, random number from my head.
This packet size, does not consider the server configured maxPacketSize to keep it self smaller than that. So if its larger, the server will just not send it out, and server doesn't appear in server browser
Looked it up, its 52.
so maxPacketSize 1352, should start working. While 1351 doesn't.
This will be fixed but it means the modlist will just be cut off

It was an ancient bug report from 2021 😄 It was even an issue in vanilla due to the number of DLCs.
I tracked it down.
Server is trying to send a 1300 size message. It adds headers to it making it 1352 bytes. The maximum possible size is 1248
When trying to actually send the packet out, it detects that it violates the max size, and just drops the packet. Not even a log message about it.
I'm making it cut off when its too large. And I shall add a log message for when a packet gets dropped 😄

we use ovh with the game dedicated firewall btw. Worked before the update so i see no reason why it should no longer work after. Edge Firewall is deactivated right now. Also game firewall should not affect the connection while no attack is incoming

ok, everything runs normal until 10 seconds after your soldier and background appears, everything freeze and only way i manage to gain control of pc is cntl alt sup and close app with task manager, sometimes just restart pc
I only use enhanced movement mod, I even try run server without mods and same happened. I tried vanilla server and it run without issue. Also tried other Mike Force servers, the officials and same happened. The problem is with mike force, I tested solo missions on prairie fire and no issues.

Well, it seems that getting into main menu settings, go to each option (VIDEO, AUDIO, CONTROLS and GAME) press cancel and accessing the mike force servers allows me to play, but when I close the game and return without doing these steps then I freeze and crash. My question is, How do i fix this without going to the previous mentioned steps?
when trying to reinstall direct x from the website it did nothing i merely used the one that arma provided and that seemed to fix the problem (the one at the top of the photo)
After repeating this press cancel on each settings and joining several times the server, it seems to be working normal again, also i set my RAM speed to my max permited, IDK if this helped too. Thanks for helping me dealing with this, see you on the field.

His existing player character must be setDamage 1'd, or killed some other way, so it restarts the respawn screen
Has anyone noticed certain missions won't finish loading after the new game update? Specially related with being logged as admin? I got a mission that was working fine on monday but now after 4h of testing, I've realized, if I log in as admin, the mission never goes past the loading screen into the briefing, however the very moment I alt+f4, it pushes the rest of the players into the game normally. This has never happened before, and as said, the same untouched mission worked fine on monday. After that I can rejoin the server normally and then login once ingame without issue. But it's really annoying to organize an MP game.
This is on windows dedicated server, both normal and profiling.exe doesn't seem to change this behaviour.
Other missions load fine and another player if logged as admin seems to have the same behaviour. The mission worked normally 2 days ago though, so I guess something must have changed since the patch on the game's end
I've also noticed if I don't log in and just vote for the mission, or log in, select the mission, logout, and launch it, the mission seems to load normally.

So I am now having a problem since this update all my mods now crash me

To fix it I had to reinstall all of my mods
And noebj don't crash
Then you need to make sure your server and mods are updated to the latest version

Then check what precedes the crash in the RPT log file.
Maybe a mod wasn't fixed yet since the update and you will need to exclude that one.
Then upload the crash report with .mdmp file to the feedback tracker so the devs can analyse it.

Hi ! Since the update, I've got a bug with my game, my game is launching fine but it freeze when i tried to open the arsenal, the editor or try to start a mission (and i can't do anything after except Shutdown my game). I tried with and without mod, with and without Battleye, I verify integrity of game files and nothing is missing.
Since the update I'm getting a lot of reports of players gear disappearing from their dead bodies, and also when logging back in after a restart, doesn't happen every time but is now happening a lot, I know this could happen in the past but was very rare but since update seems more common, Anyone know what's up?
People are suggesting the profiling build got bricked by new update... Also heavy server desync issues are encountering

Hmm no for me its diffrent. We cant login in lobby (neither passworded nor paswordless). If we load into the current mission (server has autoinit and persistent set), and then login, it works just fine. You can return to lobby and run admin commands normally

We have a player, who gets signature failure for a mod (LAMBS_RPG), it aint server related as other ppl join just fine.
What we tried:
- repairing mod
- reinstaling mod (both unsub and delete from drive)
- verifying game cache
- sending mod files directly to him, so he could unpack it
- completely deleting arma3 with all mods and reinstalling it.
None of that appears to work.
Also that mod didnt update since january. He was able to play with us last week.

Anyone else having issues after A3 last update? My friend was trying to play with me, but, after waiting a lot to get the game running and joining my server, he got it on like 10fps at best, and freezing permanently. He's got an old office laptop so it's always low performance for him. But this time it was absolutely unplayable. I asked him to look for the .rpt file in case it says something useful.

Arma generates a .rpt log file each time it's run, which contains a lot of information like the loaded mods, or any errors that appear, this log file can be very useful for troubleshooting problems.
To get to your RPT files press Windows+R and enter %localappdata%/Arma 3

To share an rpt log here, please use a website like https://pastebin.com/ (Set expiry time to 1 week or less) to upload the full log, that way the people helping you can take a look at it and try to figure out the problem you're having together with you.

It was due to server cfg -> disableChannels[] = {..., {3,true,true}, ...};
But within the mission there was a script that enabled channel 3, hence i could login from there.
However its wierd, as once you load into the mission, and login there, once you go back to lobby, you may be able to run commands (at least one) then its disabled again.
If you enable #monitor while ingame, you can constantly run commands if you go back to lobby, while #monitor is displaying output.
RE: #arma3_troubleshooting message
Our group had the same issue, we found a workaround for it. Instead of joining the server through the ingame direct connect we used the launcher server browser, then select the "Setup DLCs and Mods and Join".
It's weird though since it only happened for about half of us, the other half were fine.

Hi, guy im having this wierd issue with tables. They randomly moving in z axis. Simple obejct and simulation didn't help. It even fixes it self randomly on server and then again broke. Even on my picture you can see one table is placed normaly.

After about 10-20 seconds of respawning the uninform and vest disappears, also logging in with them missing too, I know this is a old problem but since update it's happening to players multiple times per gaming session since the update rather than the once or twice as year before update.
IIRC it was at least reported and if there is a hotfix it's #perf_prof_branch

Anyone here been having significant issues with any mods that hook into ACE? IE ACE compat mods for other mods, as an example. It seems like all of them are just broken to all hell. For whatever reason, the server we're using is returning an error that whatever addon in ACE that's being called upon by the compat mods, just does not exist.

In most cases these days, the ACE compat mods are built into ACE and automatically loaded when you load the related mods/DLC.
What usually happens is that people run extra mods or CDLC and ACE throws errors as a result.

Hello, so there's a scenario that sometimes loads as it is suppose to do, but often (I can't deduce why) doesn't load as normal
this is when it doesn't work, you can select the map (and this layout above can appear with any of the maps I select in the server options and it should load the spawn points for the chosen map) I've asked the creator why this happens and, quote "It's an old scenario with the scripts written in an older syntax and sometimes it doesn't function right"
Given that I have played this scenario more times than I could count, I assume the older syntax does function correctly sometimes (xddd). Is there anything I can do to make this work every time. I have no understanding of how arma operates (coding/files etc etc) so I don't know just how naive I am when it comes to fixing a problem like this; I just want the scenario to work each time, can I fix this on my end or are there usual tips/tricks to deduce what causes the syntax to function incorrectly? Me and a buddy of mine in a unit were playing an operation when we noticed that most sounds when you aren't directly facing them fade out to an almost (in most cases if not silent) un-noticeable, I tested vanilla base game and it has the same issue. Anyone talk about this at all?
When I refresh the audio all the sounds become 2d until I respawn.

Has anyone else been experiencing issues with mags disappearing after reloading? One of my communities has been vigorously testing trying to narrow down the cause but haven't had much luck yet, it seems incredibly inconsistent
We verified it occurs across 2 different modsets, and got confirmation from another community confirmed it also applied with their modset (though we dont know the specifics of theirs). Ever since the latest patch on oct 8th anytime i launch arma 3 through steam i receive this error.
I have re-installed the package twice. I have also verified my game files. Using the the legacy branch to roll back to the previous update fixes the issue, it working leads me to believe the c++ package is not the issue so idk what else to do.
I even tried deleting the dll and verifying and that did not fix it either

I could be wrong but I think this is related to a server looking for an object that has since been deleted (bodies, vehicles, entities) or cleaned up

It's best to get to the source of the information for the mod you have an issue with first. So the mod creator. We don't know the details about all existing mods. If it is about how to enable/install them in the game, then here should be good.
I've discovered the issues with my framerate underperforming for my specs. Whenever any sort of action happens, like explosions or even just a smoke grenade, my GPU usage goes from around 60-70% usage to maybe 20-30% and my framerate tanks (with no change to my CPU usage or clock speed). I have no idea why it does that or if there's any solutions, but if there is I'd love some help

Can't turn off "autonomous" and "allow lights" in UAV terminal, I simply cannot uncheck the check boxes. Tested without mods, in the editor, with no scripts - same effect. Verified game files - same effect. Changed profile - same effect. Really don't want to uninstall. Used to work fine.

How are you hosting it? Usually in the place where the server profiles are stored.
And assuming you are not using the -noLogs startup parameter. Otherwise there is nothing worthy of note in it. And you are out of luck figuring this out.

I don't know where TADST puts it. (which is quite old and outdated actually, people use FASTER thesedays) It must create a folder somewhere and put the arma3profile file for the server somewhere. You could search for that. Or anything .rpt
