drones dont listen to UAV terminal commands in multiplayer. anyone know a fix?

and there is obv only the NATO terminal and not a USAF terminal

yeah not really much can be done to debug if mod or mods are breaking vanilla behavior except turn off some and try again

but if i open ace interaction and then press enter (with ace interaction open) it goes to 3rd person

hey, playing on an Antistasi Plus server at the moment, one of my friends cant interact with anything but his inventory. We are all running the same mods and versions(?) but it still doesnt work, any ideas?
i cant interact with anything via middle mouse button, i am playing an antiastasi plus mod server with my friends and this didnt happen prior to yesterday which we fixed by reloading arma and my friend running the server had to update a mod, which might have fixed it. we have checked we had the same mods and have tried it when my other friend runs the server where it still doesnt work, please help

That sort of thing's almost always a version mismatch though. Trouble is when people run localhost there's no signature checks, so it loads up fine and then the client code bugs out because it's not getting what it expected.
In 3.3 community I added a server version check on the client because I was sick of dealing with these on every update :P

Someone please help me out, Everytime I open the game the launcher crashes and then immediately reopens only then to immediately crash in a constant loop. The game is unplayable and the answers I got here and other arma communities have not worked
it crashed when you open the game or when you open launcher?
there should be an option in launcher's parameter tab to exits launcher when game is started.
Hello. How can I handle mods that share a bikey? For example, Animate and ragdoll on command share a bikey, but only Animate is being loaded onto the server. From the clients perspective, it looks like it allows ragdoll on command to be loaded, but it will just cause them to be kicked when trying to join.

Still having the issue of drones not listening to the left ctrl + left click commands through Uav terminal. terminal is on the correct team/side. Not a mod issue because it works on editor, just not multiplayer. looked up and seems to be an issue.

Usually you just have to tell people not to load certain mods if they're in optionals. It's a common issue with ACE stuff.

I have an issue with connecting to my friend's game. Everytime he hosts a session, I'm unable to see it in the server browser or be able to connect to it through his steam profile.
That's normal for Arma. Networking requires effort and luck.
Any failsafes to take with helping connect? I was able to do it once, but now it's just telling me off

And yeah, it's the hoster who has to set stuff up. No-one else can do anything.

Morning all, having a weird issue happening. I can't see the ability to configure game or addon options at all. I'm playing the Operation Cobra ALiVE mission with extra mods. I can get the options so show when in editor, but when i'm in server and logged in as admin, the options completely disappear.
is there a way to use a #command to for the addon options GUI to appear? or even debug?
I guess you tried clicking the arrow to the right of Game options and it didn't work?
then it's either IFA or Alive breaking it, you would have to check unloading which one brings the menu back and then hope that either team will make a fix

You're right. New routers do not work with UPNP ArmA. I kept an old router (12 years old) and UPNP ArmA3 works on it. I connect it to the new router and it works.

Ask the creator of ragdoll to make a seperate bikey signage of it. This is not preventable if the sharing of bikeys remain.
Hello ive been having a problem with my arma 3 multiplayers games. When a player dies they respawn on their body, i've made sure that the respawn position was set in a place where i intended and made sure that in the multiplayer menu, that spawn was set in Respawn on Custom Position

Having an issue where during large firefights, I lose sound on my weapons. Anyone know what's causing this?

If there are a lot of sound effects in progress then you can run out of channels and then it's just dropping effects randomly.

The profile has maxSamplesPlayed=96; in it, but I have no idea whether that is a valid thing to change.
Do you know what the name of the file where that is located please?
Default profile is in Documents\Arma 3\. Others are in Documents\Arma 3 - other profiles\. Filename will be [profilename].arma3profile. Shut down Arma before editing.
And make a backup before you mangle it.

Usually a gear itself is not. If a Mods adds their own attributes, it causes more of the load time

If you made the mission on eden did you adjust the respawn timer cause if it is on 0 that can cause people insta respawning on their bodies

In that case you'd want to run the game with -debug parameter. And then check RPT for a calltrace

It causes lag to gcam also in certain cases, indeed may were forced to remove it to cancel lag...( also consider gcam has never been updated so that might be the problem also eheh )
Again CBA is not the part of the fault, a Mod how uses CBA is the part of the fault
So puttin -debug in launch parameters would help finding the problem?

Is there even something there where you want suppressive fire? (at those trees on along the road in front of the heli? I guess the AI figured there were actuall enemy units where it decided to fire to. (hard to say what it actually does with such a narrow view of just part of your screen. (rotate your phone camera to wide view)

Well, not if you use the -nologs parameter when starting the game/server.
i dont think -nologs is on by default so most people shouldnt have that enabled unless you specifically want to make life miserable and not know what is breaking

I meant, turn the mod off to isolate it as the cause. If it didn't change this error spam, then it probably wasn't the cause and can be re-enabled. But perhaps better to leave it out alltogether while testing. Less is more (progress towards the answer)
To me it looks like you were trying to take a screenshot ( from how the units are placed) does the error actually effect you in any way besides the black box being in eden if not you probs can simply ignore it as well as there are a bunch of errors that can happen that dont really affect anything
In Eden you cannot disable the error message box
And indeed if the intention here is just to take a screenshot why you would want to have a lot of Mods that does only affect the gameplay
Yes i know i've experienced a couple of them but some of the errors shouldn't affect any static objects with simulation disabled so if he can enter into scenario without issue he should be fine and it will save him time trying to find said mod that is giving off the error
as i dont know what mods he has loaded i cant say but from the screenshot i saw he had custom map/unit-assets/and probs other stuff for better visuals

But the default settings should be under respawn setting custom location, and checking select respawn position and show respawn counter and on the module for respawn giving the correct side you are playing ie bluefor, opfor, independent not leaving it on leading side

If a mod is broken and author won't fix it, it should not be used. Simple as that
Im not saying to fully ignore them but to check if the error affects your performance or gives you any issues if an error shows up but doesnt affect performance or anything critical then I ignore it if there is performance or any sort of issue then do every single step to identify and fix it

On the other hand, a mod having easily-replicable script errors is not a sign of quality :P

And as someone else mentioned, I've noticed a decrease in FPS...that would not happen time ago in the same map (Majan). And no, that error box does not affect the game meaning it crashes or something else. Just won't go away and would stay in the middle of the screen 4ever...

Your first CBA removePerFrameHandler error comes from BloodSplatter mod.

I have this weird bug in Zeus where I see other player's name as Player 1, Player 2 instead of their actual name. This bug started recently and now happens every time I switch to zeus. Only I am facing this bug and no one else. Tried it with mods and without mods. Have verified game games multiple times but it still is there.

I am having mic issues in ARMA3 and Teamspeak, is it possible the upgrade to Win 11 has done this?
My issue is that push to talk is not working in game or teamspeak (both run simultaneously) since the upgrade to Win 11 last year. I've checked profiles and hotkeys in TeamSpeak and even resorted to remapping push to talk (ARMA) back to default. No luck for either.
If it is just for Arma 3, it sounds like just your mic is not set default in Win... but in both TS?

is bad performance with arma just something you have to learn to live with? i’ve tweaked a lot of settings in line with the wiki and a couple videos and nothing seems to really help.
i’m using a 5800x and a 3060 ti and just can’t seem to get decent performance above 40-50 ish on any decent map (i.e. the new dlc)
yes. All you can do is lower view distance, play without shadows and OC your CPU and RAM if it it's possible.
more than 40 fps is already decent performance, Normandy is a densely detailed map.

if you are on a resolution lower than 4k and have budget, you could go for Ryzen 7 7800X3D which iirc has a very good performance in A3. GPU doesn't really matter

if you know the original ticket on feedback tracker that reported the zeus gunner issue you could post your bypass there, hopefully someone from the dev team may be able to incorporate it into future versions of A3

now I just have to figure out how to convince LGSM to add a startup option to change that, because we have 3 servers on one box and they're all using the same profile.

I had to fix a lot of people's setups where they got the wrong end of the stick and put CfgDifficultyPresets in server.cfg.

You need separate profiles anyway if you're playing game modes with any persistence, so you'll likely need to sort that out regardless.
I mean i personally use forcedifficulty = custom cause more than once i've accidentaly booted missions on wrong difficulty 😅

Nope, custom difficulty settings are defined in the profile used by the server. But the server config file can contain a line to tell it needs to be the customized settings.
hello, ive recently rented a server and i cant seem for the life of me figure out how to start the actual mission, im in the lobby and everytime i press "ok" noting happens and it gives me this error "tracks/' is not a class ('duration' accessed)"
everything seems to be working fine the mods are loading but i dunno how to start it
If I add any mods to my game and try to launch it tells me "missing dependency" but it always has been this way and it loaded

Do you mean running the 32-bit Arma executable? I don't see why the 64 bit executable would cause problems with loading mods. I'd say the 32-bit one can use less memory so would be having issues earlier. But do a Steam verify of the game to be sure.
If the game says you need missing mod dependencies, then you need the missing mods to continue with that. Mods don't work if the foundation for them isn't laid. Simple as that.

it is usually good to test whatever mods you add one by one
mod being released does not mean it is made in a way it works with other mods or even alone

a friend and i are working on ACE settings for missions and there's an issue with the uncon. When getting shot anywhere it drops you to the ground as though you're uncon but you can still see, similar to a lot of vanilla uncon scripts that you find on servers, anyone know what's up with this?

we kinda can't help you if you have "quite a lot mods" and Workshop has more than 10, no one will go through all of it just to guess what you are using.
unload mods that you don't need, or just leave cup and see if issue persists. If it doesn't, add mods one by one until it gets broken again and you will learn the culprit

well last mods I used that broke uniform rvmats was RS Rain Textures and the other one adding blood on uniforms, don't remember its name. If you're using them, ditch thhem and see what happens.

if you have any critical data there you can give it to an expert to try and restore at least some of it.
You can try to workaround it by convincing windows to mark the bad sector and then repairing the files in steam, but it'll probably get worse.

A] you may have installed the game on slow drive (usb hdd for example), only fix for this would be to install game on fast drive like internal SSD
B] you have subscribed to tons of compositions and they keep refreshing at the background causing load issues, fix would be to unsub from unnecessary compositions

Arma will also jitter pretty badly if you're short on memory, but that clears up once you shut stuff down.

if you have them loaded once you play the mission they should work
From what I see is the server fails at the mission init, doesn't say why it does that, but sometimes if you just wait at the role select screen for a little while (max 5 mins go make yourself a coffee or something) and then press continue and load into the mission as it gives the server some time to figure stuff out for itself (this isnt a guaranteed fix but it can work)
I removed some mods and it fixed it (CUP Core and Dependencies, Blastcore, and a few others)
Yeah sometimes with a lot of mods them loading and antistasi booting at the same time can cause crashes like that
what i can suggest is keep client side mods like blastcore off the server as you only need them on the client

It‘s weird, since I reinstalled my arma server on windows server 2019, I get the error message that an addon requires A3_character_f, which in my understanding is a standard pbo. That error obviously prevents us from loading any mission. I already checked the gamefiles. Any ideas?
no, it doesn't. It's a erroneous error message that's present literally everywhere and doesn't prevent anything

Having an issue with some land vehicles, mainly tanks, continuously playing their full revv'd engine sounds - even when parked with engine off. Sound updates correctly once I exit vehicle and jump back in.
Could someone point me in the right direction? We are using JSRS sound mod and RHS comp.

No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches.a3_character_f' is different error, that's likely blocking. And is most likely caused by broken mod or mission, because arma doesn't have patch or PBO of that name

It goes in the debug console, which is the black box that comes up when you press escape.
And it's UI stuff, so local exec. Whether it works is another matter.
Anyone able to help with why my friend is not able to connect to my server? I've opened my ports(i'm pretty sure), i've even tried UPnP, we've tried with and without mods, and it still says connection failed, and when he hosts his server doesn't even show up, so i'm assuming that's a port forwarding issue
"I'm pretty sure" .... So post some examples of what you did put in there. You may not have done it correctly. We can't tell. UPnP doesn't always work. It must be enabled in the router for it to respond to setting the checkmark. Often it isn't by default.
But then in the end you might still have a kind of internet connection through your router by the internet service provider that prevents you from being able to port forward anyway. And there are hardly any ways to diagnose if that is the case.

Does someone know what could be the problem? When i try to load into my mission it allows me to select a role. And after ive done that it loads for around 30seconds and then "Wait for host" pops up. Then it throws me into a different loading screen and just sit stuck there. Ive tried removing as many mods as possible and the dedicated server runs as little mods as possible.
After save/load sectorControl doesnt work, I decide just switch owner of sector by a script, but its not a proccess as default, now its just a switch between sides of sector

If you make the mission lets say with three mods one of them being something as simple as no stamina then the server will need all three aswell

Okay heres the RPT
What i did was i launched the game with the modlist i used for the mission, Joined the server and then it booted me to "Wait for Host". Then it kicked me to Stratis loading screen (Which is not the correct map) and then i closed the game.
When you log into your server did you select the correct mission before picking a role or did you go straight into role select cause from the rpt it looks like server loaded stratis and just before you restarted it loaded the scp mission
In the server.cfg i have it to open the SCP mission but it dosent open it, So i login and select it via #missions
Okay with the ammount of mods you have it could be that the server simply doesnt have enough time to initialize everything before you try and start the mission
This is not guaranteed to work but once you have selected a role just sit on the role select screen for a couple of mins give the server time to load and then press continue
I tried that, I let my PC sit afk for around 12hrs and still dident work

But Ive loaded the mission with a smaller modpack and im using that modpack for the server, mission and my PC. Gonna see if that works

Explain more about what mission/scenario this occurs in. What mods you used for it. Basically it shows the code is bad. Regardless if it was a mod or scenario that caused it, it should be considered dead and not be used. Or at least tell the creator of it that you encountered this so they may be able to fix it in the future. If you didn't write that code, then you can't fix it.

My friend has issues where weapon sounds from RHS AFRF cut short, like ~ 0.1ms of sound plays then it cuts, when firing any weapon from that mod or mods that derive from it.
Any ideas on how to remedy that?
Hi I'm having some audio issues mid game where all my A3 sounds stops working and I can't get it reworking. I'm using an Astro A50 wireless headset and the station is connected via a USB port. I've tried refreshing audio sources, turning off and on the headset, taking out and plugging back in the headset station base none of the previous things have fixed my arma 3 audio issues. Any ideas what else I can do?

But currently we cannot handcuff anyone, in the log the server say Scripting command 'switchmove' is not allowed to be remotely executed whenever we try to handcuff someone

Missions acquire false dependencies of any mod that was loaded when they were saved. You can load it in editor and resave to work around that, although if there are real dependencies then you may have issues.

in the log the server is crying about users trying to remoteexec the "switchmove" command
if the remote exec is supposed to be "Allow all" by default, then it means that something is changeing it to something else and causes issues

The ace balistics show us the range card information when it comes to the scope (Mildots/zeroing) issue it doesn't let us do the 0.1 mod instead it does the 50 by 50 modification as well wind doesn't work.

Scope you are using in your screenshot is not in mildots, its in meters, hence it says 350m (meters). You are using simple zeroing, there is option to disable that in settings.

I'd need some help with server hosting, no matter what i do be it port foward or enabling UPNP on my router settings my friends can't see the server
The server port forwards fine and it all looks fine, but people can't see the server

Basically a second layer of NAT imposed on you by your ISP.
How do i check that
Go into your router config, find your WAN IP address.
If it's in a reserved IP range then it's CGNAT. If it's the same as your externally visible IP (eg. google "what's my IP") then it's not.
If only i could find my WAN IP

Not sure where else to go so this the last place imm go until I just straight up buy a new key of arma. So I can not join any servers. Like none. No Vanilla and cant join the server I own for my unit. Im not sure what could be causing the issue. What happens is if the server is creating a game, it will get to the point where you can see the map (you know as your loading in) but it stays there. I can type and all that but it will not go to the screen where I can choose a job. And sometimes if the game is going, it will take me to the job screen but there will be no jobs to even choose. So if anyone else has had this type of issue, help would be very much appreciated.
My game keeps crashing with "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" anyone got any ideas?

first rule of debugging is turn off all mods.
next check out the BIwiki pages for unusual process exit and that particular access violation
it is unfortunately very common one and can be caused by many things
also if you have USB headset you cat check out the pinned messages for a bug related to them

Hello, after downloading addons called Scion Empire and sci-fi plus, it did something to my game where i cant put any infantry down

but when i put back mods that arn't even related to the new mods that caused this to happen

I figured out, its the drone counter suite mod

Verify your game and make sure you dont have any mods loaded/ if you are joining your server and it is giving you an empty role select that is likely a missing dependency on the server aka the server doesnt have all the mods it needs for the mission

I'm having trouble with armor vehicles, particularly those in the RHS pack. If it has an AI crew, there are no issues. However if two players are operating, say, a BMD, and the driver hops out BEFORE the gunner, the armor piece launches itself into lower earth orbit

The B_IONS missing something says the Author is CarBomber9000, which I can't find any record of whatsoever in order to track down whatever mod it was that's making the Ion Helicopter disappear, that might be associated with the Cargo_Post (Rusty) and Long Green Sandbag disappearances that've corrupted my save from this morning.

Broken mods simply need to be disabled. If author can't be found to fix them, not really much that can be realistically done.
How to track down a mod that seems to have disappeared entirely without any mod list interaction; logged on after building this mission and somehow my mods changed and 3 primary assets from the mission up and disappeared from the editor asset lists, and only one gives a mod error to track stating B_IONS by CarBomber9000, who I can find no record of. Then there's the rusty cargo posts and long green sandbags that have disappeared as well, the sandbags I had the code name for and Bing AI tracked it down to supposedly being from Extended Base, which I actually do have enabled, so it's a deadend trying to figure out where the conflict on that one is.
Is there a way to spit out all the mods involved in a mission's making?
Got a guy who reports that they are getting a texture warning pop-up on their server recently using a feature in a mod that was not happening in the past (the feature has not changed for years). The warning is: Warning Message: Can not create source for procedural texture - probably badly formed texture name: "#(argb,8,8,3)color(0,0,0,1)"#(argb,8,8,3)color(0,0,0,1)" Anyone see anything obvious in this? Texture looks fine based on perusal of the Biki page on procedural textures...
I remember hearing about close enough error message with CUP humvees or something like that. And at that time it was indeed caused by badly formed procedure texture string

00005 is very common/non specific error im afraid and while some mod could perhaps lead to it, it is usually something else causing it
you can test if the game runs normally without mods in same situation you were in but it might not really be easily reproducible
there is a wiki page about unusual process exits in Arma and I recall there are some common reasons and possible fixes listed for 00005 there too

also there is a chance its related to USB audio if you are using some audio device that is connected with any kind of USB connection

Arma's just basic UDP spam. Doesn't usually struggle more than any other game.
i guess just my shitty luck..
Some servers might be set quite strict, but unless you have 300 ping to the US I doubt you'd have that general a problem.
It's connecting, just dropping out later. Some ISPs used to put low priority on UDP but that'd hurt other games too.
I don't think they bother these days because games are lower traffic than youtube.
its connecting. it stays connected just fine in the role assignment sceen. itll stay connected in the respawn screen but the second i jump into the game, 10 seconds later, im getting dropped

I'm trying to spawn in a napalm bomb in front of a player once they enter a trigger. I tested it with a vanilla GBU:

Which works perfectly, it spawns a GBU 50m in front and 20m above the player. But when I change the class name to Prairie Fire napalm, as per https://wiki.sogpf.com/index.php/CfgWeapons_Vehicle_Weapons:

Nothing spawns, and there is no explosion, which leads me to believe the class name is wrong. Any idea what might be the problem?

ditch the space after first quote mark, there is no reason for it to exist there. And it doesn't do anything because you are spawning a weapon not an actual munition. vn_bomb_750_blu1b_fb_ammo should be the correct classname

tried verifying my game as well as reinstalling the mod to my pc and the server with no luck
You loaded a mod in your client that the server does not consider allowed. Or you forgot to add the mod's (bi)key file to the server's keys folder.
There is nothing that needs reinstalling. The key files of mods don't get placed automatically where they need to go. Unless you use a rented server management environment of certain companies that have that automated.

Howdy! I'm hosting a dedicated server on my machine and it works in vanilla. There is a character limit on the shortcut "Target" argument line so I'm trying to use a -par (Arma 3 startup parameters file). Sadly the entire thing seems to not work as the config doesn't work. How do I use -par files?
Is it just not loading?
You can just startup with a batch file to dodge the character limit instead.
Do you use OperaGX?
parameter files should work but I haven't tried it personally.
