If you can kill them all without any risk of getting shot yourself, or when they pose a threat to someone else; take them out.
Otherwise let them pass and find a better (safer) position to take them out if needed.

ehm.... so i managed to make a mission with the Liberty as my HQ, i was able to get a supply drop of infantry to the Helipad and all was looking good, but when i commanded them to mount up in the speedboat all i got was "Negative" ad infinitum. Now they are just glitching all over the boat :<

When you are new to the game, mods are the last thing you should try. Better is to learn how vanilla game works first. Then make up your own mind what you like changed.

official servers though use no mods so they are good way to get started with MP
but there is also the single player campaign and tutorials that you should play first

Arma is definitely alot of fun, if you manage to find a community, or just a server that you’d enjoy playing on, be it vanilla arma, or modded, and get together with other people. As long as it’s something you want to do, then I can guarantee it’s worth getting, it’s all up to your own playstyle, but there’s alot of potential to what you can do in this game, and the modding is basically infinite.

you can't pilot, drive, or gun DLC vehicles. You can use DLC weapons or clothes or vests and such gear, but you will have watermarks on screen. You can ride DLC vehicles as passengers.

@placid spoke If I'm the one doing it for the A3 accounts, I use vanilla game (no mods), Splendid Camera, and a lot of patience unless there is a specific reason not to. Most of the time I just ask the team if they could toss me for a solution in those cases. But I won't say I haven't used the Supporter to easily look up animation names quickly for a preview. 😅 But on my personal stuff, I do use it.

Depends on the server. If the server says you have to own some MODs, you'll have to install the MODs. If the server doesn't say, you don't need to. But basically, you'll need to get MODs if your friends has a weapon or equipment from an MOD, or maybe a vehicle, or whatever

I have a website running on nginx since half a decade ago and never had to lift a finger to keep it working. That's just the minimum I expect these days. I know it's not a normal expectation for non open source software, and that's exactly why I'm mostly just using open source these days.

That's not the point. Teamspeak works fine, but they choose to add some artificial limitations that serve no real purpose beyond annoying people. I can't even imagine how dumb people must feel if they actually pay for software and still face those issues. I'd rather deal with buggy open source software where I at least know the bugs are unintentional.
(Also yes, arma does need to be more optimized.)

Hard to say depends on the setting you want.
I'd recommend using mods, they are free

You don't need any DLC's to be able to play the game or do whatever you want.
DLC's only add some additional content for you to use (without limiting you from joining servers, except for terrains).
