It can happen that you accidentallly move it out of view from the map. Beyond the borders. I have found no other solution than to save/stop the game. Shut down. Open my profilename.arma3profile with a text editor, and remove the class text related to the compass. Save it and restart the game.

You normally go into 3rd person by pressing enter in your numpad (you can change it in the keybindings), and for mods… what arma game are you playing?

if you mean to play multiplayer you dont need to worry about mods

you will need to use whatever the server uses

You need to port forward in the router for the UDP ports mentioned in the Arma Bot response (after Sticky Joe message). Or rely on UPnP if your router supports that. Often it doesn't/ignores it.

Second you need to allow incomming traffic for Arma 3 from the internet through your firewall.

As for the IP, the one your friends would need to know if they direct connect to you. That cannot be found in the Windows setting. Despite what others claim to tell you. If you did the first thing above correct (UDP portrange 2302-2306) then it should be found in the Arma Launcher serverbrowser after a while when your friend looks you up in there (assuming the server is running and has a recognisable name). No need to tell your friend the IP as it would show you the IP of your router's Internet side.
In your routers configuration menu you might also find an address named as Internet address, or WAN address. That is your home address/postal code on the internet.

However, there are still potential reasons why this might fail and your friends being unable to connect. That is unfortunately due to your internet provider having a certain kind of network setup that causes things to go the wrong way, or packets being blocked. Not much you can do about that. But try the above first.

Hi! It could be your keybinds since you remapped after reinstalling Windows make sure your missile lock and sensor controls are set properly. Also, check that Master Arm is on, you're in air to ground mode, and using the right sensor (like TGP or radar) to lock targets. Some missiles need to be within a certain range and have a clear line of sight to lock. There might've been updates that changed how targeting works too, so it’s worth checking patch notes. Does anyone have any major connection issues to arma? I'm able to play other games at around 70-80 ping, but with arma im consistently clocking 200-300+ ping. 1. Arma Reforger does not have the Eden editor, but it has the Game Master (Zeus) mods, which can save (at best horrible) missions and the Enfusion tools. You can make mission with the Enfusion tools that are (I think) similar to what you can make in Eden, but it's really complicated and difficult.
2. For PC, Reforger is only on Steam.
3. What do you mean custom modes? Like missions? Arma 3 is probably better, but you can do it in both.

you can self host a server through multiplayer > server browser > host server. iirc you'll need ports 2302-2306 forwarded. it's also possible to run a LAN server through a service like hamachi, if that's a route you want to go down. once the server is up, they can find it in the "friends" tab provided you are online on steam, and they are friends with you. Hey just wondering. I'm trying to make a scenario in gamemaster to play with my friends on. The map I'm using has been downloaded from the workshop as a mod(Kunar). However, for some reason my save files won't appear when I click the "load" icon to reload my saves after I've gotten back on. If I hit the "Save As" button, it saves it, but the file won't pop up. I would say that is preferable. there is a mod that turns back vanilla entries but its not really recommeneded to play vanilla campaigns with the CDLCs or mods

Hello there. I am facing some problems with Arma 3. It is related to brightness. The roads and almost everything in the game is too bright to the point it is just blindingly white. Any idea how to fix this? I tried changing the values of gamma, brightness, contrast, and saturation, but I can see any change. Not really, the GL has an around 300m range so if you want to truly overwatch use the M249, M60 or a Sniper

If you want some more ranged capabilities but still assault then GL is good

i mean, it's going to depend on what you want more out of the game, because arma is much more freeform in its core structure - people can make missions and have players adhere to their guidelines and restraints but that isn't the universal experience. ready or not at its core is centered around each map having a specific set of objectives each time

arma's map objectives change depending on what you're doing with who on what scenario

Sniper gameplay and long-term immersive play, definitely Arma.
You're not getting sniping in ready or not on its short distance, nor much immersion on the small/fast matches.

In Arma you can get laying on overwatch with sniper + spotter for hours, supporting and communicating with the other teams on the ground, while constantly keeping your head on a swivel for your flanks and back.
But you need to find a group to play in that style

Hey, so I already asked previously about the horrible internet issues I'm having with arma reforger, and since then I've upgraded my internet plan to see if it would fix it and the ping remains the same as the last plan. I'm starting to think there is some issue with my game itself. Does anyone else keep being prevented from playing multiplayer due to having constant 200+ ping? When I played reforger on console it would be like 80 ping per server(really good connection), and yet STILL on pc I can't play or host servers with my friends due to horrible connection. Other games play just fine with really good connection, but with arma reforger I have no clue as to why I have high ping. My hardware on my pc can run the game just fine, I have no clue why arma is being this way. If there is anyone that knows how to fix high ping for arma please let me know.

didnt read everything but maybe look up for opening the ports of refoger, that for sure would help a little bit if its struggling only on arma, im not the best on this things, but trying could help, do your research only for the ports and see

So I had a few question regarding making a patch mod that is dependent on the RHS status quo, and content pack 1 & 2. I mainly just don’t wanna end up in hot water with you guys by doing something wrong. Should I be worried about being copyrighted or since I’m not using them to sell or taking ownership of the artwork should I even worry? And lastly just wanted to make sure you guys were okay with me making the mod in general. I don’t wanna step on anybody toes. I appreciate you reaching back out buddy.

Pretty sure it keeps the profile data, but make a copy yourself if you're worried. It's not that large.

Depends on how big the scenario saves are. 😉 I've had saves of 60 MB for Pilgrimage. "Stranded on Malden" saves are 95 MB a pop.
