I somehow managed to activate a spooky function. I'm not sure whether it's related to the Comet browser, but I must have used a keystroke or invoked Perplexity's voice assistant fully in the background. I have no active Perplexity windows app. I have none of the Comet browsers tab which shows a microphone sign for listening. The assistant is closed, the voice assistant in both browser windows is also not active, but Perplexity voice assistant was constantly listening in the background and interfering in any voice interaction I did. Could not talk to my neighbor, here in the office because Perplexity always thought it was talking to him, and I have not found any switch or command window to control this background voice assistant. Even closing the Comet browsers all together left the Perplexity voice assistant active in the background. Only canceling and deleting all the Perplexity related processes finally got this voice assistant shut down.

Anybody an idea on how I invoked it and how I can control it in the future?

Yes, I talked to it. I even asked it to confirm that it's the Perplexity voice assistant, and I asked it, "I can shut it down?" And then it tried to guide me to a browser and said, "Probably I'm running in a browser tab, and you need to find the tab with the mic and you can shut me down there." I told him that I have closed all the browser windows and I have the standalone Perplexity app closed as well, and there is no standalone Perplexity voice mode app on Windows too as far as I know. And it was not able to shut it down via voice. The voice assistant confirmed that it could stop answering but not stop listening. Until I re-invoked it, and my only option was to look in the process windows and I shut down all the Perplexity running tasks, and that was the only way I could get rid of it. And I have no idea how I invoked it. I use a lot of keyboard commands for different things, and I must have invoked it probably via keyboard command, but could not find any place anywhere to have a control window to make it stop.

After each individual item, I have to instruct it again to add the next. The shopping cart was 12 items long. That was 12 manual requests to continue the task.

I'll be honest, and I've tried it myself. The free tiers are not the same as the actual Pro $20/month tier. Perplexity caps the accounts on the free $200 tiers.

With the free ones from carriers etc. The token limit is reduced. The LLM will likely say no to doing the tasks. And the output rates are limited, can't do coding etx.

I tested carrier ones and confirm my pro vs carrier gives very different results 100% of the time.

#☄️│comet-general Not sure whether it's obvious for everybody, but I discovered a very neat feature/functionality which is already included in Comet and I was not aware about having seen this in the Google Chrome browser.

It's the fact that if you are using multiple windows of Comet where you have opened different tabs in different groups and you have positioned them on your screens according to a certain layout, when you exit Comet via the exit function (which you can find in the top right dropdown menu next to your small personal icon) and you start Comet again, it will start and open all the windows and all the tabs with all the groups exactly how you left them.

I used to close the different windows via the X on the top right and I needed then to manually re-arrange the windows and open additional Comet WIndows, open the Groups, arrange them on the screens, etc. And by using the exit function in the evening, starting COmet restores everything back to where you left of... fantastic.
