Hi, I’ve been really pleased with Comet so far — everything runs smoothly with almost no glitches. However, I’ve noticed one issue while using Facebook Marketplace. When I have around 17–19 tabs open, sending messages becomes extremely slow, with typing delays of up to 10 seconds. I’ve tested the same setup in Firefox and didn’t experience this issue. Additionally, some videos, particularly on YouTube, can lag or fail to play with multiple tabs open, though this doesn’t happen consistently and might be on my end.

If even one of these I could get a response for that’d be great! Also yes I have tried adjusting the tab loading to maximum or minimum and that has made 0 difference that I could tell for either issue.

Perplexity's constant need for Cloudflare verification is so annoying.
I was using the Comet assistant, finally finished typing a long-ass prompt, and it just didn't work. There was absolutely no notification telling me I needed to verify, and this situation happens at least once a day.
I had to open a completely new window to get verified, and then re-type the entire prompt all over again.

I'm relieved to see that there is a way to rename threads using the website UI, but I had not noticed how this could be accomplished at first. I had been overlooking it due to the current website UI design. The Edit icon only appears when hovering the thread name in the settings menu and is not labeled other than with a tooltip on hovering the small Edit icon itself. The ideal solution would be to add a "Rename" option to each thread's respective options menu in the Library (where the Delete option already exists). Alternatively or in addition to this, add a "Rename" option to the Settings menu near the Delete option at the bottom of the menu.

I was referring to an AI summary title of the said chat, automatically. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, etc.. all do this. It’s quite helpful!

Quick Guide: Fixing threads not showing up in Perplexity Spaces apps (desktop/mobile)

If you create or add a thread to a Space and you only see it on the web (not in the desktop or mobile app), follow these steps:

Delete or disconnect the incomplete thread (if possible).

Re-add the thread manually from the app where it’s missing (mobile or PC).

Refresh the Space and check if it syncs across all your devices.

This error often happens when a thread isn’t fully saved while creating a Space. The workaround forces proper sync across platforms.

It’s not exactly a new idea — I’ve been talking about using Google Lens–type tools for a while since they make it easy to copy text or search for products directly. I’ve used both Google and Microsoft browsers, but I feel that Perplexity’s adaptation is better. It gives a smoother experience, which is why it has become my go-to browser now. I know there is a way to use Google. But I prefer to search with Perplexity but most of the time I search I word, it gets me the top result and that's it. No need to keep the chat for that, mixed with the longer discussions.

on macOS the input field doesn't follow guideline. It continues to flash the text cursor even if the app isn't currently in-focus. This is non-standard behavior and frustrating when you glance over and try to type, only to cause inputs in another app.

Also it seems to take considerably longer to load longer conversations with the desktop app than with the mobile app, or fail to fully load.

On occasion the conversation only loads the first two responses and then fails silently.

I am moved from google chrome to comet weeks ago, and my experience is awesome with comet, and i like that all functionalities in chrome is also available in comet.

But, I usually use many devices, when i tried to setup on additional device (Windows), i found that my comet data is not synced with my perplexity account (like what chrome do) and i have to import everything again, despite that i have new saved passwords and bookmarks in comet it left with using chrome on my other devices.

I have some issues with the perplexity on the desktop app for Mac. On longer conversations (I'm developing a movie script and separately a website) it starts becoming really slow and then crashing. When I check memory usage it is up to 67G!!!

Feature Request: Assistant Window "Always On" Toggle

Hi team! I'd like to suggest adding a toggle option to keep the Comet Assistant window always visible/pinned.

Currently, when I close the assistant window, I need to manually reopen it each time by clicking the Assistant icon. It would be great to have an ON/OFF toggle setting that allows the assistant window to:

• Stay open persistently across page navigation
• Auto-open when the browser starts

Feature suggestion. In place of Perplexity doing a full file management system. How about a google drive integration that lets users upload to folders (perplexity/[Space]/filename.md ) in a consistent way. In this way we can create collections of output from projects (Spaces) with multiple threads.
This would allow a significant file management option for users and avoid much of the complexity of building one inside perplexity itself.
Definitely, the biggest issue I have with perplexity, is finding files created in threads. I can’t find the thread, and if I do I can’t find the file.

I should be able to select the model via the options menu under preferences while using Comet, but the button just takes me to a new chat window. I have the max subscription.
(The menu option is under the Preferences tab. Under the subheading "Artificial Intelligence." The line item is called "Model." The button is labeled "Choose Here".)
REQUEST: Change this button to "Select Model", and make it the same dropdown list that appears when a user clicks the "Rewrite" button. the functionality there already exists perfectly, please apply the same to the preferences menu within Comet.

Also, can you please add a feedback channel for Comet specifically? (this is just a bonus ask, but I LOVE your browser and myself and others may have some valuable feedback.) I use Comet exclusively now on both windows and MacOS, I'm confident in saying it is my favorite browser by far.

Please add functionality to automatically share context and information across threads within a Perplexity Space. Currently, every time I create a new thread, I have to re-explain everything from scratch, including:

It would greatly improve the Space functionality and user experience if the AI could automatically retain and reference information from previous threads within the same Space. This would eliminate repetitive explanations and make the workflow much more efficient.

Two questions... 1) Is there a way to turn off animations like these on Comet's site that play all at once? The assistant says not without messing around with dev tools. and 2) Is there a way to adjust text size in the Assistant sidebar? None of the text settings in Settings change the sidebar. On a 32" screen I need it to be half the size it is. So I'm using the browser at my desk and stepping back three feet to read the sidebar.

You can import bookmarks and such if that's what you mean. If you're signed into your google account and have the settings on to sync what you want synced, then it should show up anywhere you're signed into that google account.

I just wasted an hour trying to find the personalization section on the MacOS app where you introduce yourself and give the AI background information. I rarely use the website and forgot that that was even an option. Asking the AI was no help as it kept leading me down menu paths that didn't exist. If the aim is to not have redundancy and centralize account settings at one location, why not have the link go to your accounts page (https://www.perplexity.ai/account/details) on the website where there are significantly more settings you can adjust.

The help documentation (https://www.perplexity.ai/help-center/en/articles/10352990-account-settings) also was confusing as it did not reference differences between apps and website user experiences. As many companies are poor at updating thier online documentation, I interpreted the mismatch as that.

Not a rage post, just calling out a pattern I'm seeing.

Perplexity Pro access keeps getting switched on and off even though my Revolut perk is still active. No warnings, no clear reason, nothing in my usage that violates TOS. It feels like automated systems are tripping over each other and users get rug pulled out of nowhere.

If we're meant to rely on Perplexity daily, there needs to be transparency or at least stability with partnered perks. Right now it just feels random and frustrating.

I noticed that when using the Assistant mode in the sidebar, there is currently no option to switch between different AI models. Could you please consider adding the Model Selection feature to this mode?

This has been an issue for months. If you argue with Perplexity enough it will eventually say "The files I created are NOT actually stored anywhere you can access them directly." You might be able to get some of the files by scrolling back through the conversation, clicking on the download button and selecting "All Assets" each time. Maybe.

Is there something going on with Claude Sonnet 4.5 with Thinking Enabled? I've used it numerous times last week with my custom instruction prompt I've built but ever since this past weekend it seems like something is broken. Its no longer consistently using thinking blocks. The reasoning seems severely degraded. i have to contsntly correct its output which is lowing down my work considerably.

While I am overall excited about Perplexity with Comet, and even asked how I can provide a glowing review, and I will do so, some significant issues became apparent, preventing a full switch.

1. Browser freezes and crashes:
   Frequently freezes and crashes, despite changing acceleration and memory settings. The PC is fine. Also, many times, typing is very slow to render.
   This is a pretty significant issue.

2. The copyright restrictions make it nearly impossible to use the Sonar model.
   I cannot use my sources to even provide cited excerpts in my work. Perplexity refuses to. I cannot check the correct retrieval of textbook contents. I cannot pull up freely available lyrics.
   This is an immensely significant issue, as switching the model solves it, but it is extremely inconvenient for studying, work, or leisure.

3. When I enter a tracking number and ask to track it, Comet just shows my Amazon tracking information. Any search engine would detect the code and go to the carrier's website to track. This is very important, as Amazon does not have precise tracking data for external carriers.

4. Lack of extension support on Android (critical to use the browser, I use Edge Canary specifically for extensions).

5. Lack of a form-filling assistant on Android.

6. Spaces are not intuitive to set up, unlike Grok Projects or GPT.

7. Lack of general guidelines or connected memory is annoying, but if otherwise the model provides correct responses, even if I have to attach general instructions, it is fine.

Perplexity is so close to being a good app, yet has some obvious FRUSTRATING ANNOYING problems that I can't believe are still there. It's almost as if the devs are not eating their own dog food.

On Mac Desktop, I do CMD-+ (plus or minus) to make font size larger or smaller -- NOTHING HAPPENS. This is unlike every other single Mac app on my machine.

-- There should be a button right there in the app where I can type this feedback and send it to the team, without having to go through the RIDICULOUS run-around of the Discord link, which leads me into a loop to nowhere, telling me I have to "claim" my account. Then when I put my email/password, it refuses to allow me to claim it, saying that it "already exists".
WHY am I sitting here doing this, trying to figure this out, just so I can give you valuable feedback to help you? How long must I push through this friction just to give you information that you surely desire, that you should have put a button directly on the app in the first place allowing me to simply send you the feedback.

BTW I am a regular user of Perplexity and I am constantly installing it onto my friends' phones and laptops. I think the product is of value. I could easily replace it by building my own workflow with local models that do exactly what I want. But I prefer, with limited time, to support the Perplexity product which has been useful to me, and to give deserved value to the people who work on it.

1. When I start a new thread, the app prevents me from pasting an image. I am forced to go back to home if I want to paste an image. Why the difference? Annoying. If I can paste an image in the home thread, I should be able to paste an image in a New thread, there should be no difference. It's an easy fix, and a huge annoyance/frustration as a user. Which makes me question whether the developers are even using the product because HOW can they not be running into this issue the same as I am?

2. The ability to open multiple Perplexity windows simultaneously, side-by-side. This is again, a standard, normal behavior for any other app. See iMessage for example, or any web browser. In fact, I am forced to use Perplexity in the web browser just so I can have another window side-by-side and not be forced to narrowly myopically focus on a single window, which I must ditch anytime I want to open a separate thread. Why so difficult?

How can a product be so good, yet have these obvious annoying frustrating problems, that I can't imagine the developers aren't running into on a daily basis, unless they simply aren't using their own software / eating their own dog food. It like you're DRIVING me to have to put up my own research bot when I would rather pay you.

There is nothing more annoying than when I have clear obvious valuable feedback to give you, that will only benefit you, but meanwhile I get the run-around with a knowledge base search asking me if that "fixed my problem" -- as though I am the one with the problem -- when I am only trying to notify you of information that clearly you would desire, and that most users do not even care to bother to give to you.

Finally, consider that I would happily use a local model (via Ollama) such as hf.co/unsloth/GLM-4.7-Flash-GGUF:Q8_K_XL -- which would drop your inferencing costs to ZERO...
...And I would STILL happily pay you the monthly recurring for a quality product that fixes these issues.

Not every user is on that level, I understand. But over time, that's where things will tend to go, and you can still have a place for yourselves regardless. You might even consider getting out ahead of it -- after all, giving us that option, even if only actually used by power users, will only serve to reduce your inferencing costs.

Conversely, if the product itself continues to be frustrating/annoying on easily fixable points, I would eventually just spin up a workflow locally and eliminate the need for Perplexity forever. But I am reticent to do that because there is so much quality in your product that I would honestly rather just use it and pay you, which you deserve!

Okay, it was such a hassle to actually get into this Discord so I could finally get a message sent directly to you, which was why I finally took the time/effort to type up all of my thoughts. I hope this helps the company. I might check back later, but I don't even need a response. Windows client stuck on “Shortcuts” / Comet screen – no way back
I’m using the Perplexity Pro client on Windows and I’m running into a really frustrating behavior:

When I click on “Shortcuts” in the client, it opens a new view that tries to get me to download or use Comet. In that screen I cannot find any clear “Back” button or way to return to the normal Perplexity chat view inside the client.

If I close and reopen the client, it starts again in this Comet/Shortcuts screen instead of my usual view, so the only reliable way out right now is to kill the process via Task Manager. That makes the client quite annoying to use.

What I would expect:

A clear Back/Close action to return to the main chat view.

An option to disable this Comet/download promo entirely.

The client should not reopen stuck on this screen after restart.

Realizing I already have Comet installed anyway.

I use Perplexity AI quite a lot for research. It has its pros and cons but generally is a very useful and powerful tool. I noticed a change in Pro Search last night, and this morning I have an email telling me about the latest 'improvements'. My initial observation was that in response to a fairly detailed search question (or engineered prompt) after several minutes 'thinking' and dozens of listed 'sources', it produced just one rather limited paragraph. So I then had to push it to expand on that paragraph, whereupon it did a lot more 'thinking' before producing what I was expecting in the first place.

I am hoping that it will have improved on some of its recent formatting output glitches, which have been a frustrating waste of time on several occasions.

No mention of addressing one of its biggest weaknesses in being unable to return to the 'workspace' to develop and continue a search from a previous day. Apparently, it can't even read and ingest its own output from the thread it created. This needs fixing.

It then got quite hung upon producing output in 'markdown format' then telling me how to convert it to docx, before eventually just doing it for me.

hello, I am used to Brave Browser on mac where Command+B opens and closes the "Assistant" with no problem. I tried to set the same keyboard shortcut on Comet, the problem is that it opens the assistant but can't close it when it's focused on the typing field (probably because it thinks i wanna make the text bold or something which doesn't make sense in the Assistant) so I have to click somewhere else first and than I can use Command+B to close it, so I can't use my favourite shortcut because of this and I'm stuck with Option+A

Some languages (Arabic, Hebrew) are RTL and not working well with reponses here, when you detec RTL you need to align all to right and make the text RTL, so if you have english it will show in the right place, like what i marked in arrow in this case. (. , ) will also show in end of sentence that way

And in general Hebrew language should be improved - some sentences are using non-existent words and don't make much sense. I believe Claude does better job in that

I am an active Comet user and I really enjoy the experience. However, there is one UI feature that is very important to me and currently missing: the ability to use tabs in a vertical layout.

In particular:

I often have many tabs open at the same time, and managing them in a horizontal bar at the top becomes difficult.

Vertical tabs make much more efficient use of space when I use the browser in a narrow window (for example, when I split my screen in half).

Long tab titles are much easier to read, organize, and search through with vertical tabs.

So my feature request for Comet is:

A built‑in option for a vertical tab bar.

Ideally, it would be pinnable, resizable, and support tab grouping.

If possible, even an experimental flag or setting to enable this would already be very helpful.

I’d like to make Comet the core of my daily workflow, and vertical tabs are a critical feature for me in that regard. I would really appreciate it if you could consider this. I’m also happy to provide more feedback or join any testing if needed.

Hi! I’d like to request a feature for Comet on desktop.
Currently, when I type in the address bar:

• Enter sends the query to Perplexity
• Shift+Enter sends the query to Google
  I’d love to have a setting to invert this (Enter → Google, Shift+Enter → Perplexity) or even fully customize these shortcuts.
  This would better fit my workflow, since most of the time I want regular Google results with Enter and only use Perplexity when needed.

Hallucinations are a function of information availability. I guess Hebrew is nlt frequently present in training data likely same for Claude. Did you try switching the models in Perplexity?

I found a serious usability issue with Computer credit management. Right now, paused Computer tasks can resume automatically when new credits become available, but there does not seem to be a clear per-task pause/disable control. That creates a real problem because I want some Computer tasks to keep running, while I want others paused indefinitely without deleting them or risking automatic credit drain on the next billing cycle.
This should be a basic control:
• Pause one specific Computer task/thread.
• Keep other Computer tasks active.
• Prevent that paused task from auto-resuming when monthly credits refresh or new credits are added.
• Show a clear status like Active, Paused, Auto-resume off, or Archived.
• Add a per-thread spending limit or confirmation before a paused task can resume and consume credits again.
Right now this feels unintuitive and expensive, because disabling auto-refill is not enough if a paused task can still wake back up when the next credit cycle hits. Please add a true per-thread pause/hold state so users can preserve work without risking automatic credit burn.

I have often reached a point with a thread where over the course of long deliberations I am at a sweet spot where all context has been established and replies are beautifully informed. At this point it becomes akin to a race against context window to maximise the value I get out of the AI before its answers begin to degrade and I have to try and summarise and start-over, which takes time and usually loses some of the richness of the previous context established through active exploration and deliberation.

The ability to freeze a thread at this sweet spot and then branch off it to my hearts content would be such a time-saver for me and I'm sure plenty of other users. Something akin to this already occurs when sharing the thread with someone else but the ability to do it myself, easily would be so damn helpful

No “default model” feature in Spaces — Claude Sonnet 4.6 must be manually selected every single time for each new message/thread. The selection doesn’t persist.
Complex tasks (legal research, document planning, multi-step reasoning) are practically unusable in Pro Spaces — the model resets to Sonar/Grok, resulting in hallucinations and incorrect answers.,

Hi, I’m a Perplexity Pro user and I’ve run into a problem with model selection and support access.

Until today, I was able to reliably use the Claude Extended Thinking (Claude Code Thinking) style model by selecting it in the UI, and it would effectively behave as my default. Starting today (April 1, 2026, JST), every time I send a query, the model automatically switches back to “Best” for the next input, even within the same thread.

I checked my Settings, but my Settings page only shows:

Appearance (Theme, Answer font)

Settings (Language, Preferred answer language, Auto-suggestions)

Artificial Intelligence (Image generation model, Video generation model, AI data retention)
There is no option anywhere to set or persist a default text model, and I also no longer see the Intercom support entry in Settings, even though I am on Pro.
I’ve already emailed [e-mail] with details, but I wanted to report this here as well, since it started just today and might be related to a recent UI or backend change.
Could you please:

Confirm whether removing the default text model setting and the Intercom entry from Settings is intentional or a bug for Pro users, and

Let me know if there is any current way to keep Claude Extended Thinking (Claude Code Thinking) selected by default, instead of having it reset to “Best” after each query?

I’m a heavy Perplexity Computer user working primarily on Windows desktop, in both Google Chrome and the Comet browser.

In an earlier version of the Computer UI, I relied on the split‑pane layout where the full list of my tasks stayed visible on the left and the active conversation for the selected task was on the right. That made it very fast to juggle multiple long‑running tasks and switch between them without losing context.

In the current design, the left side only shows navigation. To see my tasks, I have to go back or open the Tasks view, then re‑open the task I was just working in. This adds several extra clicks every time I switch tasks and significantly slows down my workflow.

I’d love to see either:
– the original two‑pane layout restored, or
– an option/toggle for a “power‑user” view with a persistent task list alongside the active task.

For users running many Computer tasks at once, this change feels like a regression in usability. I’d really appreciate a way to get that persistent task list experience back on desktop (Chrome and Comet).

Actually, there was a specification change (a significant reduction in usage and frequency) around February 4th.
The main changes are as follows:
All of these use a rolling window system with no reset.

• Pro Search: 600 times daily → 200 times weekly (1 recovery every 50.4 minutes)
• Research: 600 times daily → 20 times monthly (1 recovery every 36 hours)
• Labs (renamed "Create Files and Apps"): 50 times monthly → 25 times monthly → disappeared again about 3 days ago (likely a specification change)

You cannot check the remaining number from the UI, so please check the internal status using the following endpoint (moderators have also provided instructions).

My MacBook laptop is my daily driver, but I purchased a Mac Mini to initially run OpenClaw, which (for me) turned out to be too much of a maintenance headache. I would really like to use PPC on my laptop for its access to local apps, but also have some tasks that are running on the Mac Mini that survive when the laptop is shut down. To do this, PPC needs to run on both devices and be able to designate which platform skills and schedules run on each.

I have to think that many people in my situation would invest in the Max plan if we could use both machines this way.

I tried running PPC on both devices, but the skills and tasks get confused as to which device is supposted to run, causing issues when the Mini, for example, needs files and apps that are on the laptop, so I had to uninstall PPC from the Mini.

I'd really appreciate it if we could opt-out of having Perplexity in the menu bar. There's already a keyboard shortcut to open a new thread at any time w/o the app being active, and it just takes up previous menu bar space.

Perplexity on Mac keeps telling me to upgrade to Computer, but the website says I'm on the waiting list. Am I doing something wrong? Just wanted to say how god awful your PC web UI is, on top of constant annoying popups/ads in the way trying to push new features that feels on par with some shady pirate site or heavy data collection site. Now you force phone number verification even for paid pro users out of nowhere lmao when no other reputable AI site does this, even major crypto exchanges 2fa through phone number is optional, not forced - clearly you're just doing this for even more data collection to sell. Every UI update seems to be more annoying and worse than the last, now you've added distracting animated thread text with an animation style I haven't seen since 2005 era web days.

Imagine trying to do serious work and having this popup TWICE over a few minutes directly above the chat box obscuring the AI output, having to close obnoxious popups all the time when you're a paid customer lmao.

I've literally never seen any legit site have this kind of behavior of constantly shilling, promoting and nagging paid users with popups and distractions... ONE time per day for the first few days of a new feature is reasonable, this is already comedy tier bad, how often and how long this has been going on for.

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue where ChatGPT won’t load in Comet, but it loads normally in other places like Google Chrome and the ChatGPT iPhone app.

In Comet, chatgpt.com keeps showing:

Here’s what I already tried:

Reloaded the ChatGPT tab multiple times.
Opened ChatGPT in a fresh Comet tab.
Tried Comet incognito mode.
Turned off Comet’s ad/tracker blocking for chatgpt.com.
Turned off graphics acceleration in Comet and relaunched the browser.
Checked Comet updates. It says Comet is up to date.
Disabled several ChatGPT/AI-related extensions that might inject into the page, including MetaPrompt, NoteGPT, Promptly, Monica, and OrangeMonkey.
Cleared chatgpt.com site data/cookies in Comet.
Even after all of that, ChatGPT still does not load in Comet and keeps crashing with Error code 11. But the same ChatGPT account works fine in Chrome and on my iPhone app.

Has anyone else faced this with Comet? Is this a known Comet/Chromium renderer issue or something specific to ChatGPT in Comet?

• selectable transcription modes: fast / accurate / local-private / punctuation-heavy / journal / evidence-grade
• preserve raw audio + transcript pair for user-approved bug reports
• a "clean up transcript before submit" step
• custom vocabulary / personal dictionary (names, products, jargon — perplexity, mobx, notion, ux-ui.ai, beau baker, casey, red rocks austin, etc.)

eval set i'd push on

• long freeform dictation
• bug reports dictated out loud
• proper nouns + brand names
• emotional / spiritual language where tone matters
• technical and code-ish terms
• multi-topic prompts with mid-sentence corrections

voice should be a first-class input layer, not a lossy preprocessor.

I’m disappointed with the new Mac app and miss the old one.

1. There is no option to configure different shortcuts for asking questions and interacting with the computer; you can only choose one.
2. I want the Perplexity window to open immediately after I ask a question, rather than running in the background and notifying me or suddenly appearing (as with the “after completion” setting). At the very least, I would like the option to choose this behaviour, as it is a significant pain point and something I miss from the old app.

I am quite new to it and do not have much experience, but building up knowledge on how to use it. I have it installed on my iPhone and MacBook, and I am really pleased with the quality of the answers.

One issue I encountered is that on the computer, the MacBook app does not display the downloadable file as expected when instructed to build a file to be downloaded. It does appear on the iPhone version, but not on the MacBook.

I've been having a problem with my Perplexity App opening up on my Windows PC. Most of the time, it opens with just a blank Window. I close it, reopen and the same. Every so often, it'll open up properly when my PC first starts up. Here's an image of what Im describing. Ive even tried to uninstall and install the app

I’ve been having this same issue. My workaround is to rewrite the answer and choose “best” for the model. You may also need to click on a separate thread, then reopen the thread you want in order to see the results. It’s annoying, but it works for me.

Previously I was able to use Perplexity with DEVONthink, Obsidian, NotePlan and other local MCP servers but the new one can only do remote MCP from the looks of it which feels like a big step back

Hope this is not final and local MCP is coming back. Right now that leaves only Claude as the only Desktop app that can use local MCP servers that aren't remote
