I've used the Chrome "install app" feature on two of my systems (Windows 11 and MacOS). If I create a thread in Perplexity on Windows, it won't sync over to my MacOS Perplexity app. Same goes for mobile, all threads seem to be treated as if they were local to the device. Hey guys is it just me that think that this platform is now very strict when it comes to censorship. Words that have even a slightly negative connotation are censored by the AI (whether it's OpenAI, Claude, or a local LLM trained by Perplexity). I usually enjoy reading Chinese novels by translating them into English. Typically, those novels contain a few dirty jokes, but the AI refuses to translate them. I subscribed just to read RAW novels for AI translation, but with such strict censorship, I'm reconsidering renewing my subscription. 😥

I would like to know if there is a way to easily delete all conversation threads that are not in a collection on Perplexity. Currently, I find the process tedious because I have to select and delete each thread individually.

Is there a feature or trick to perform this action in bulk? For example, an option to select all threads outside of a collection at once, or a keyboard shortcut to speed up the process?
If this feature does not exist yet, do you think it would be useful to add? It would help us better organize our conversations and clean up our history more efficiently.

Is it always better to create a new thread for each topic within a Collection I've created on Perplexity? The Collection is about World of Warcraft lore questions. Should I start a new thread for each separate lore question, or is it more efficient to keep related questions within the same thread, and why?

The only thing pulling me back from using it not in tandem is that I have a boatload of custom GPTs (okay, maybe like 100) that I've developed for very specific refined purposes (one of them is for generating taxonomies as CSVs ... it's pretty good). I know Perplexity doesn't have a custom GPT feature but ... is there anything close ... or any creative solutions? Just better individual prompt engineering? I have all the configurations saved. But it's my understanding that the moment you stop subscribing to ChatGPT ... you "lose" your custom GPTs (which seems very problematic ... but besides the point!)

Or, you'll find for some queries Claude 3 Opus works better over Claude Sonnet 3.5 (Opus being the larger but older model). 4o/o1-mini (openAI/chatgpt) will be debatable for awhile on which to pick (provided o1 doesn't end up getting added). Pro search is a separate model and process itself, but it'll still use whatever default model you have in place for the generation (Pro search just does the search/reasoning). I haven't found a direct use for the PPLX Sonar models (yet), however those work well off platform, via API, as a web connected LLM.

Long story short, for now, i'd keep either 4o or Sonnet 3.5 as default. If your unhappy with the output, use "re-write" to Opus.

Id advise against leaving Opus as your default since it has the lowest amount of uses per 4 hours (50).

Beyond that, the actual default model I believe is still set to either claude Haiku or gemini 1.5 Flash (based on using the CPLX extension, and default and gemini producing the same output)

These models are all trained differently and have different strengths and weaknesses. So instead of just trying to pick the "best" one, focus on picking the "best" one for the task at hand.

You can add one more shortcut (with &copilot=true parameter) and make it your default search or start it with a separate shortcut. Also, you need to be logged in to your account, and then every search you start will be a Pro search. Like in this guide: #1225572798966267966 message

I shouldn't have to change the VPN, and for someone saying "cheap" vpn, you shouldn't be recommending me Proton. Avast is an amazing vpn, and is way more secure then the free version of Proton. It's not a me or a VPN problem, it has something to do with Cloudflare. I tried different protocols like OpenVPN, Wireguard, and Mimic, as well as different locations, and same result.
Sure enough, Proton doesn't work either.

Did something change recently in the iOS app. The “suggested prompts” (Titled ‘ Related’) at the end of an answer now seem to trigger anytime I’m scrolling , meaning pressing and holding and swiping and it triggers when I haven’t even let go.
