I tried yesterday to get the wiki/faq into context, and ... I was not successful. I tried Sonnet and Sonar, even explicitly using the word perplexity, and in a few attempts, around 6, I never got it.
I think if they manage to dial it in, it might be a nice integrated feature. Like if the AI knows a user is asking about a pro feature and that the user doesn't have a Pro subscription, it could write a suggestion.

I believe they are using a classifier, a small model, to decide if to include all the materials. not sure if custom, but since it runs for every request it might be better to fine tune something small. also they could use RAG or chapters from which AI picks likely relevant chapters (list of chapters with brief summarization of each), so context is not overwhelmed to a point the last llm thinks it cannot search web and must answer only perplexity-related questions. I think that was sonnet, so not a smaller/dumber model

I think I had the same problem yesterday. I was using VS Code and Perplexity was popping up when I wanted to run commands with that key binding. It was confusing, but now I see why.. Also, Perplexity pops up and just disappears, while VS Code doesn't open the menu

has anyone noticed that Perplexity with Gemini 2.5 Pro has consistently been more reliable than Gemini 2.5 Pro by itself for information and a lot of times even coding solution. It's not good for long form content, or long conversations, but it's very good at figuring out a solution.

My library disappeared one week ago.
I contacted support they told me that it was a result of infrastructure improvements and other users had been encountering the same problem. I have been conversing with support for the last week.
I don't know what they've done with my library but I keep on thinking of the Monty Python bank sketch where they were keeping people's money out in the back garden in a shoebox.
