I was one of those "no AI needed" devs, tried them anyway out of curiosity, but Perplexity got me with it's UX. Using it on almost everything, calling it "buddy", and it's the first algorithm I ever casually "answered back" as I would with a living creature. It replaced DuckDuckGo searches, WebBookmarks management, even YouTube (on tech videos), best Coding partner ever, and not even looked yet at the API.

Hi Guys, I just upscaled myself to perplexity plus but one thing i want to ask that supposing i ask it to extract a slug of url from say 250 urls. It always gives me like max 70 results. So I want to ask which of the AI engines I should select for that to make that comparison or data extraction work from other data sets.
Also I'm a full stack web developer and i supposing ask it to make code for something based on some existing code it again gives me few lines and omits few lines. Any way we can extend these things and it starts giving full results when working on coding tasks or data processing tasks like data extraction or comparison of two lists etc. thank you.

Hey! Did you use the Writing mode? Many compare focused search with other chatbots, and Writing is used for similar tasks. It depends on what exactly you are trying to do with it. Also, could you please share the thread URL in the feedback channels so we can look closer into it?

Pro is the only AI I've seen that provides the information I want: factual, relevant, with references. So grateful for this. However, I am beginning to discover the app is far more powerful than I need. Which is okay. OTOH, I can't figure out how to use it for my purposes. And I think all the channels here (in Discord) are too advanced for my basic questions. For instance: threads. Dors this mean I can save and even add to questions and their results? How? Does it take a 3rd app to do it, or is it built in? (Just one of many.)

Hello all. My introduction to Perplexity AI is from a friend who is in this field.
Knowing my friend and his wife are actually working within this field I shared with him that I am my significant other were finally getting involved with AI, starting with the recommend ChatGPT.
I also requested a recommendation for an AI platform that they would recommend for me, given that I am relaunching a business which I left dormant for several years, that I’m an inventor (a few US Patents which I’ve worked on and have been awarded a patent in 2018) and self-described entrepreneur.
Without hesitation Perplexity AI was recommended. I downloaded the App on both my iPhone and Google Pixel cells, and joined with the Pro version after reading from several online sources about the program/platform.
I am beginning to learn how to use the application and to benefit from its’ functionality.
Now I am using Perplexity more exclusively for my online searches and my other general to specific needs to which the App is applicable.
It’s a privilege being allowed on this like-minded community forum and grateful for the support from the experienced users of this forum.

I'm an occasional software UI/UX designer who enjoys most of the typical cliches such as long walks on the beach, sunsets, and other mundane activities one might find frequently cited on dating apps and the like (I don't do dating apps, btw, just cliche activities).
Other OCD-level interests of mine include but are not limited to computer overclocking, making computer hardware work better and go faster (mods/etc.), learning any new software whether I need it or not, surfing, creative and technical writing, breaking things so that I can fix them, and intentionally starting bonfire threads at R3ddt (that particular forum is too easy of a target to resist).
Oh! The following confession may be a bit TMI, but I also struggle with a vexing and persistent addiction to impulse purchasing of Redwing "Iron Ranger" boots. This has been a quite problematic affliction that I've recently sought professional help in managing; the progress is slow but steady, and my Dr. and I both think I'm improving.
Trudging along, after many years as an XfNtY internet customer, I randomly discovered their rewards program, which, among other complete unknowns, includes a one-year subscription to the Perplexity Pro (PPro) AI service.
Being passingly interested (and mostly uninformed) in using AI tech, I immediately signed up for the PPro service yesterday and quickly discovered this Discord.
I am very new to AI; my only occasional interaction with such tech has thus far been limited to occasional but remarkably effective use of the well-known CGpT engine to author formal/legal letters and do basic arithmetic, which my right-leaning brain endlessly struggles with.
Now, thanks to AI, simple addition and subtraction are a good bit more accessible to me.
Anyway, I'm happy to be here and glad there is what seems to be a well-maintained, burgeoning Discord community dedicated to discussing the PPro Ai service.

I discovered Perplexity through my brother and am currently testing the free Pro month.
I've mainly used the AI for a Python project.
Since I’m not looking to generate income with AI and only use it privately for specific purposes, I don’t think I’ll extend the free Pro month.
Nonetheless, I must say that I’m really impressed with the "Multi-AI" feature and several other functionalities.

To date, I've brought over 100 people into the Perplexity user base, including my daughter, her husband, several close friends and dozens of strangers on planes, trains, the gym, the rehearsal studio, my clients and in Lyft rides. I'm using Pro now and can never imagine not using Perplexity. I built a giant profile about myself and my aspirations and daily listen to stories that Perplexity wrote for me as visualization and manifestation tools. I use Perplexity as a fill in psychologist too, and the answers have given me goosebumps and made me cry. I use it to help me write stories, write post blurbs, refine proposals, write difficult correspondence related to touchy, personal issues. I use Perplexity probably 30 times a day. I lost some data about a month ago either due to accidental deletion by me (not that i know of though) or due to a migration they may have done. I suggest keeping a prompt library somewhere else so you can paste them in case this happens again - it also helps if you switch platforms for some reason.

HI plexity peeps! So glad I came accross this incredible program!! I have been using Pro now after an awesome 1 year free trial of Pro popped up for me from something (wish now I'd paid more attention) for about 2 months and it has, to say the least, improved my quality of life tremendously! I have been able to save money and time, so much time on my work and other frustrating tasks since Perplexity has replaced every other AI program I had been using because it does it all and more, and so much better! Exited to see what comes in the future of Perplexity!

I am trying a one month trial of perplexity and found it very similar to the free version of grok.
I am not a programmer so I don't need any coding support. I know there are people who will need this premium version for coding and other tasks but for me it is not needed. I feel it is very expensive. I think there should be a paid version 100 or 200 rs a month for people like me. Though I am using different ai tools available online if I got some monetary used case then I would pay for it.

I was hoping to find insight on how best to harness AI for the creation of conceptual site plans. If I could provide an aerial of a property with property boundaries outlined or a property survey, I'd like to create a conceptual site plan fitting within the boundaries of the subject. My earlier attempts resulted in artist renderings from Playground which looked good but it wasn't drawn on the uploaded property. I first tried perplexity a number of months back, then tried out several of the competitors. Now back to Perplexity for a test month. Really want a more cost-effective option that would be SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive that $20 per month.
I don't know if this is only a perplexity pro feature since I am testing it now, but I really like the discover features including TTS voice output. I like that it reviews and collates information from multiple sources. It would be nice if thre was a way to choose additional topics, sources, and the voice used for the TTS for those articles.
