#

if you can, send the video here in this thread

halcyon moon
#

it gets worse without FSR enabled actually too

cyan lark
#

👀, crap you right. I'm on 7900 XT

halcyon moon
dull siren
#

Interesting, thank you. Can you also send me your log, Sabriel?

#

Just to be sure, you guys also have it on latest driver?

cyan lark
#

yea

#

it's weird, after update all texures look like 460

#

idk why

halcyon moon
#

I hope that's it

#

@dull siren

dull siren
#

Correct, thank you

halcyon moon
#

I have some more logs if you need a longer session or can upload more videos

#

The water also goes funky when swimming a lot more

dull siren
#

for now we good, I think

#

@round creek can you check with me in this thread if these are the issues you are having?

#

Please check Sabriel's vids

round creek
#

yes its the same issue

#

well even worse on my end

halcyon moon
#

is it worse when you turn off DLSS?

round creek
#

im only using dlaa

#

found the cause i think

#

the higher the resolution the worse the problem, im playing on 4k native, when i set scale to 50% its almost fixed

halcyon moon
#

I am on a 4k monitor too

round creek
#

yea resolution scale at 50% fixes it

#

100% scale makes disco out of water

halcyon moon
#

actually, yes

#

it fixes for me too

dull siren
#

@cyan lark you're on a 4k monitor?

cyan lark
#

No

halcyon moon
#

almost, there is still some of that weird clipping and such but it's quite a lot better

cyan lark
#

I can test that though hold on

dull siren
#

@round creek can you send me your log anyway?

round creek
#

sure, how to get it?

#

on a side note, dont know if its related but the water level seems to be a lot higher now

dull siren
#

in the Steam Folder you have the Enshrouded folder

#

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Enshrouded

#

it should have a .txt or .log file called "Enshrouded", just dragndrop that bastard here

halcyon moon
#

25 -50 - 100 scale test 🤔

round creek
#

fresh one, closed the game to make sure its the right one

halcyon moon
#

yeah I have a natural waterfall (untouched, unedited world gen) in my base area and it flooded the entire lower level of my base

cyan lark
#

Weird, I only have 1080p, But I want down to 50%

there is still flashing but no boxes

cyan lark
round creek
#

and the bridge in front of me used to be above water before the update

analog moon
#

i have the problem to , i will upload my log in a second to

fallow star
cyan lark
#

what GPU?

fallow star
#

RTX5090... latest drivers

cyan lark
#

hmm well that's atleast 2 5090's

#

and a few AMD's

fallow star
#

I even forced the DLSS override even tho its unsupported, does not change a thing.

analog moon
#

i first thougth that my setting were to high for my gpu but thts not the case its not fully utalised and it dosn´t mater

#

then i noticed turning anti allising to FSR 3 quality fixes it

round creek
#

before the update max settings with dlaa only was fine for 4k, i was getting stable 60fps with 5090

analog moon
#

for me if i use FSR 3 Quality or lower it is fixed

quiet hearth
#

Out of curiosity i checked on my end. Visuals seem fine flooding is still a problem tho.

The following screenshots were taken roughly 60 seconds apart from each other at the waterfall south west of "Glennwood's End"

Note: Linux through steam proton on full AMD-System

round creek
#

hmm i tried disabling dlaa no fsr or anthing like that and it still gives the disco

#

it seems it just goes bonkers on some GPUs on high resolution

fallow star
#

Did we try... windowed mode yet? With a smaller window?

cyan lark
#

It seems rendering far seems off too,

cyan lark
analog moon
#

jes i did for me id didn´t work

fallow star
#

Diff FoVs?

cyan lark
#

windowed no work

fallow star
#

It likes to party more at certain angles and the edge of the screen for me

round creek
#

windowed native res = disco, window resized = fixes on lower res

analog moon
#

for me it seams to be worse with smaler bodys of water to

round creek
#

base flooding is just cos default water level is higher

analog moon
#

as example i have an small pit filled with water at my base to refill my stuff and it goes more disco than anything else

#

but for me setting Anti Allising to FSR3 quality fixes that to

#

but only for resolutions below 90%

round creek
#

for me res scale at 100% with 4k, dlss balanced fixes it

#

dlss quality is still funky

analog moon
#

hopefully it gets fixed somehow ore my Base will have disco when using high quality settings forever

round creek
#

its just a matter of time untill it gets fixed, sooner or later

fallow star
#

2 findings so far, the DLAA is the worst (obviously highest res), the angle is essential. If I look down on the water it almost stops completly, when I stand at waterlevel and look straight ahead its the absolut worst. Only DLSS preset that fixes it for me is ultra-performance

round creek
#

looking as you have a 5090 too, it may be tied to cpu too

cyan lark
#

what CPU's do we have?

round creek
#

as for me balanced worked so there must be something more than just gpu

#

i7-13700k (200mhz undervolted)

#

to complete it:
64GB ram and game is on NVMe gen4

cyan lark
#

Yea i'm on AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

#

so diff cpu hmm

#

deercat_sadthumbs ntohing lining up

fallow star
#

Ryzen 9 7950X3D

round creek
#

the only thing that lines up is high resolution, most ppl who play 4k use powerfull gpus so the sample size is smaller

analog moon
#

Amd Ryzen 7 7800X3d

round creek
#

its wierd tho, same gpu, snowdrops has stronger cpu and need to set dlss lower than me to fix it

fallow star
#

different resolution / aspect ratio,
im running at 5120x1440p

round creek
#

yea that would do it

halcyon moon
#

The lower I set my FSR the worse it gets

#

and if I turn it off it turns into a massive spikey blob completely ahaha

quiet hearth
#

I did some playing around with my settings and now i have the issue as well xd

#

Setting FSR3 Quality down from "Native" to "Quality" or lower and Water to performance seems to at least alleviate the problem for me (Water looks 'meh' now). Still weird that it suddenly started.

round creek
#

just checked the "water" setting, its kinda pointless with this issue, only the lowest possible setting has some effect (lowers the disco effect but doesnt remove it), other settings in water dont seem to affect the issue

fallow star
#

I tried every setting individually to no effect

quiet hearth
#

The combination works somewhat. But it certainly isn't a fix.

fallow star
#

Apart from Ultra Performance... but cmon... im not playing the game in... what, 320p? Nu'uh.fell_cry

keen thistle
#

I'm also playing natively in 4K... everything on max, in case that's the reason... the base is underwater ... the water level is significantly higher after this update.

#

Things also float in the air...

quiet hearth
#

As tommor pointed out the water level is probably fine. Noted in the patch notes. The visual bugs is the part that is actually the problem.

keen thistle
#

Therefore, this version of the game is unusable until a hotfix is released to resolve this issue...

fallow star
keen thistle
round creek
#

i also tried a new world and water level is higher too

keen thistle
#

Even grasses were sticking through the base, it almost seems as if everything I changed has been positioned deeper. No idea, okay then no Enshrouded for the next few days - too bad.

round creek
#

looked through the patchnotes and there's nothing about raising the base level of water, next to my base there are bridges and grass underwater - it all was above water before update, this persists even on lower resolution so its not only visual and yea, i can even swim over that bridge now

keen thistle
quiet hearth
#

Was referring to this:

The water dispensers now dispense water, no matter how far away from the nearest player they are on the map. Additionally, water flows much further on flat surfaces such as canals or flat floors. This could lead to surplus water, after updating, if you previously placed multiple dispensers in a single area. In some cases with complex water features this could lead to flooding

keen thistle
#

Luckily I have a backup of my map... I hope they can fix it soon.

round creek
#

no water dispensers, just natural lake with pre-build bridges

halcyon moon
#

this is a different issue here that we are discussing in the first place

round creek
#

it can be related to the issue

quiet hearth
#

We don't know that tho.

keen thistle
#

So that's not the reason in my case. That also doesn't explain why various objects are floating in the air.

quiet hearth
#

Additionally, water flows much further on flat surfaces such as canals or flat floors.

This one is the issue i presume.

#

Maybe it's a bug tho.

round creek
#

nope, lake is normaly on the map and terain thats always there got flooded

quiet hearth
#

That is under the assumption that natural water sources fuction similarly to the dispensers

round creek
#

and its over character height difference

keen thistle
#

Maybe this is the big water update, not the last one 😄

round creek
#

give us boats and we'll have mini windrose in enshrouded

quiet hearth
#

Noticed the difference too. Just saying might be a side-effect of that change. But we can honesly just wait and see.

keen thistle
#

In any case, I see no solution for us as users, the developers must fix the problem with a Hotfix.

dull siren
#

@everyone Hey folks, it's quite likely that there will be a fix for this for the upcoming hotfix. Please keep me posted when it arrives. Should appear in the upcoming hours or so.

analog moon
#

wow that was really fast

dull siren
#

The version came out now

cyan lark
#

they cooking

dull siren
#

should be arriving soon-ish

cyan lark
#

getting it now (Restarted steam)

fallow star
#

please no shaders, please no shaders

dull siren
#

shaders are good for you

cyan lark
#

true

#

jsut waiting for server to update than will check

fallow star
#

yeah, server version mismatch. Im hopping into solo

dull siren
#

servers usually take a while

cyan lark
#

I host myself so i got it fast

#

looks goood

#

is flooding fixed too?

dull siren
#

that I dunno, or at least I don't think it contains any fixes specifically towards that

cyan lark
#

ok np!

dull siren
#

if it's fixed then it's a happy coincidence

cyan lark
#

but yea everythign looks right now! Thanks

fallow star
#

yeah, looks fixed to me too.

#

BUT did water always deform around the character like this before?

dull siren
#

That's ripples, no?

fallow star
#

It looks like ssr artifacts but within the water deformation directly around the character. Hard to describe, check on the left hand glove and between the arm and body

#

like the left hand there is deforming the ripples that are probably over 1m away. I'm just wondering this is nothing gamebreaking anymore lol

cyan lark
#

looks ok in my game 0.o

fallow star
#

i'm gonna video this just in case

#

you can see it in this screenshot here way better, see that upwards spiky pattern between the arm and body?

#

added arrows for clarity lol

dull siren
#

ah I see

#

let me check on my game

round creek
#

looks fine on my end

#

as in no more disco

#

yea, deformation "aura" is present

dull siren
#

it's a different issue I think

#

thanks for the notice

fallow star
#

Im not even sure it is an issue, I might have just never noticed before fell_salute

round creek
#

imagine thats just the sheer force of your character thats bending the reality

dull siren
#

is this the aura that people farm nowadays

#

anyway issue solved, I'm out, thanks you all

cyan lark
#

Amazing gif

halcyon moon
quiet hearth
#

Flickering Issue is fixed, indeed. Looks beautiful again even on Linux. fell_love
The flooding thing tho...

halcyon moon
#

Looks awesome, thank you for the quick work god bless ya'll
