Finding & Sending your Logs
Finding your logs:
For better and faster troubleshooting, please share game logs along with your message.
Open File Explorer
- Navigate to your Steam folder, by default it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam.
- Find the following file: [...]\Steam\steamapps\common\Enshrouded\enshrouded.log
⚠️ If you do not have "show known file extensions" in Windows Explorer active, the relevant file will appear only as "enshrouded", with no extension and file type "Text Document".
Copy and Paste the log file into Discord
- Head over to #troubleshooting and paste the log file into the channel.
(Troubleshooting in Discord is conducted by community volunteers. Please treat them with respect, and appreciation.)
Thanks for the help, chief. I was really looking forward to playing after the update, but this has really taken the wind out of my sails
Sorry for the delays. let me take a look
Not at all, I appreciate you even trying to parse this
Okay, I am seeing a bunch of memory allocation issues - much more than normal which could suggest your vram or ram is being overloaded, or there is a bottleneck somewhere. Not much else other than that.
You have plenty of RAM available before the game start. so I would look first at VRAM and turn Texture Quality down a bit to see if that helps. It working for so long after using the toolfix suggests this could be the case.
It's also possible that another software is interfering with your game. You may want to turn overlays off (Discord, Steam, Adrenaline) and check your startup programs to see if you may have some things running in the background eating up resources.
If it continues I would use a monitoring tool to watch what is happening before, during and after the crashes to see if you can find what is being overloaded or where the bottleneck might be.
Unfortunately though, I need to get to bed before the sun comes up, and that is way too close. Give those things a try and post back in here, and hopefully I'll be able to do more tomorrow, or someone else will pop in with more ideas.
Hey again, I fell asleep before I could try anything else, but I just came back from another crash - playing with a resource monitor showed nothing out of the ordinary, VRAM or RAM, playing on lowest settings on everything.. Though, before my game crashed, the fire effect on the shrine and kiln at the base became black textureless blobs this time.
Fwiw, my rig plays other resource intensive games on the same drive without much issue - Monster Hunter Wilds, Cyberpunk, the Oblivion remake, etc.
It seems to just be Enshrouded giving me grief.
they are all different, sadly the only time a comparison really says much is when the same issue is happening.
can you drop in the latest log file?
Yeah, I figured a potential issue would be a hardware related one, so I ran them just to make sure
Did you do the DDU yesterday?
I did not, but I'll give it a go
Any luck?
After a fresh driver install, it still ended up crashing, then I just took a nap, haha.
Tbh I think I'm just gonna put the game on the backburner, then give it a go every time they push a hotfix/patch to see if I can play the game without my computer dying on me
I appreciate the help you gave me tho, I really wanted to get it working and play
