@chilly mica sorry for the ping. I have come across an issue that may need some help from the team over there. Sorry it wasn't put in a thread to begin with but I will try to summarize. This is on a brand new system and fresh install.
Issue and resolutions tried starting here: #troubleshooting message
Things tried:
- Using DDU to install older GPU driver
- Clearing out shader caches multiple times
- File verification in steam
- Enshrouded toolfix
- Manual install of Vulkan runtime
- Disabling onboard video card
- Running game isolated from software with MSConfig
- Limiting FPS
- Fresh reinstall of game after clearing steam's download cache
- Turning off hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
@shut cave if you could please do me a favor and include your latest log file as well as your dxdiag for them to take a look at it would be appreciated
you can get your dxdiag by opening up run and typing it in the box then clicking "save all information"
They are out for the weekened, but hopefully they will be able to look at it this next coming week.
Totally ๐ Thank you.
Let me know if you need more logs.
Sorry I couldn't get it up and running for you.
No worries. If you have more ideas, I'd love to try something more ๐
Tried this one. And reinstalled the game after cleaning the download cache on steam
the shadercache is no longer generated on each start
sadly still fails
Went over through this one:

Latest zip logs file are after these changes.
I'll try once more after deleting dlss.dll
nope
It showed me a title screen for a split second, and showed me that the shaders are being compiled at least.
Then it froze and crashed with this log.
I went into the event viewer to check it out and saw an error there.
I tried out a solution to change permissions for nvlddmkm.sys file in the system32.
I am attaching the BAT. You'll be able to see the script.
basically gave full access to all apps.
with this I was able to see a slight difference. I saw the "wait before shaders are compiled" thing before it crashed again.
trying to dig more.
Okey.
Tried 2 more drivers, now I am on the latest one again.

The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\Device\Video14
Error occurred on GPUID: 100
The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table
this can be found in the event log.
Is this my GPU hardware issue? hard to believe
Tried to launch Valheim, it runs smoothly
Every game is different and accesses different parts of the gpu in different ways. Unfortunately the only time a comparison of issues in a game is really helpful is when you have the same issue, which can help narrow down the problem by looking at the commonalities in the games.
Your latest log file has DirectX errors, which (as far as I am aware) it shouldn't have since the game solely uses Vulkan.
You stated earlier that your system only had a few bits of software installed on it - one of those being a monitoring software for your system - Do you happen to know the name of that software?
I tried to do some silly stuff, to change launch options for the game:
-d3d11
I've got TechPowerUp GPU-Z
AIDA64 Extreme
Armoury Crate
AMD Software
Hey, we're kind of really busy right now but I'll see to it that either me or someone else can see if they can help
Hello.
I understand.
5070 has a lot of issues. I decided to go ahead and swap to a RX 7090 XT
a lot of driver issues overall for the 50 series
tomorrow I am swapping so I'll see how it goes with the new GPU
Hey Owl, when you pop on around, would you be willing to try something for me?
Since you are one of the people with the 5070 issue of not being able to roll back, I had an idea. It's a longshot, but it's possible that the Studio drivers may not have the same issue. Would you be willing to try installing the latest NVidia studio drivers instead of the game-ready one to see if that might help with the issue?
It probably won't work, but I am trying to find a workaround for those of you guys having issues and being stuck with no stable driver to go back to.
Hello! ๐
We can close this one. I've decided to switch to the 9070 XT
