Making random players work together does not really work. If somebody maybe remember the game REND in its erarly days. There teams had to work together to get their faction forward and it most times absolutely failed. Unless you had a group of players in your team that knew eachother.

In pure random teams nobody whant's to do the "not so popular jobs". The "I thinking" of the players is too strong for that. "Why should I do this crap? The others can do it, too."

That's the Equinox Pilot, science vessel.

Has much pew-pew, especially forward.
Very good at flanking big targets or slapping mobs.

It has flank-raider trait, so it does extra damage on the flank.

I just remember nothing breaking my insane shields. Built that cruiser to go toe-to-toe with borg cubes. Did decent damage but main function was it's staying power. Can't even remember the name of the shield module but it had a very pretty grid effect.

Tactical = DPS
Engineering = Hull tankie + hull heal.
Science = Shield tankie + shield heal.

Of course, they all have traits and BOFF specialisations to boost any particular discipline.

Discord is a requirement for building communities. It's not a social platform by the standards that were set by facebook or twitter.

Alright, well if you're talking about Discord support, sure the actual Discord support staff does suck. but I have had only one occassion where I felt the need for a staff member. Took me a bit, but the problem was handled. Short of that, Discord allows owners the ability to really craft their own community however they see fit.

Yeah nah lol, if the rules made sense then sure, but they're incredibly stupid. There's a reason so many verified bots are absurdly bloated for no reason, because discord staff refuses to verify anything that's not an "all purpose" bot. They just have a lot of weird rules like that and each one on it's own isn't a big deal, but when you're constantly running into issues like that it starts to drive you insane.

Also their support is some of the worst I've ever seen. We were having technical issues on a server I ran with more than 200k memebers and not a single one of us could even get a human response from discord, we all just had our tickets automatically closed or were met with obvious copypastas.

As a user it works fine, but when it's tied to your business their decisions are incredibly frustrating

we didn't have any injuries when i went through airborne school, but our airborne school is pretty rigorous before you jump from a plane

even in the 82nd airborne, we only had.. 3 training deaths out of probably 800k jumps or so in a 2yr period

so while it's easy to look at a replay from a linear game and be like "this section needs work", with an open world game, you have to place yourself in the player's shows and be like "why did they choose this sequence of gameplay loops in the first place?", which is something you can only really do if you watch people play.

Yeah, I suppose there's a huge difference between scripted and open games, in terms of how to implement fun encounters. In open world ones all you can do is scatter some fun instances on the map, set some trigger requirements and keep your fingers crossed that:

• players will find it
• trigger works
• players will find it fun and engaging

also if you stay in the starting plateau and spend 20 hours straight building:

• are you having fun?
• are you avoiding moving on to another loop like exploration, or specifically shroud exploration? If so, why?

even when you have access to deep telemetry and see exactly what happened, the why can be elusive, unless you have other angles to understand the player experience

The survival game genre is missing a MMO where you can do everything that this game is showing, but in server with 10000 players. Really working together. Valheim is supper nice, but get boring very fast because it is basically a single player game. If this game want to last for longer, consider having repetead content that are nice to do with several players togehter. Also consider the PK system with bag loot. So players can kill others, but became a target for everybody else, same as in TIBIA.

There's a major artery in Boston called Storrow Drive where... the road has been there forever, before large trucks were a thing. And hte bridges over the road were built as overpasses, but never at a height needed for today's UHaul Truck culture.

That area that Storrow Drive is next to, and commonly used for, is for College Move in month every year. Thousands and Thousands of college kids coming to 100's of Boston Universities to study.

Only.. they ignore every sign on the road. Every drop of chain, every hanging sign that clobbers the top of trucks before they even get on the road... and yet still...

Valheim you can play with up to ten people and the gameplay is actually better if you have at least two people.

As for a survival MMO, there's Pax Dei in Alpha that looks promising, but no release date. I'm hoping it lives up to what it is promising, so we will see. No combat has really been shown yet, and like Throne and Liberty has shown, combat can make or break a game in beta.

Our door pushes in, adding special knob mechanisms really ratches the price up so we kept it as basic as could be. We do plan to add foam runes with LED lights underneath the inner door frame though to give it a bit more flair. This is definitely not that door or that rooms final form 😎

Just the north island unfortunately. I hear the south island is beautful, but we only had a week or so. We mostly hung out around the Auckland area and ventured out to go visit hobbiton and the glow worm caves and some farmers markets and stuff.

It kinda makes me feel like Bizarro Seattle in a lot of ways. The climate and foliage is very similar to here with a splash of Hawaii, there's have a bizarro space needle, the people are nice instead of cold

Didn't get to do nearly enough hiking or camping, I guess we'll just have to go back 🤷‍♀️

Nice. I never got to visit the North Island, but I lived in the South Island for about a year. Stunningly beautiful place. The nature is incredible down there. But I hear there's way less infrastructure (and it shows, really), and it's more rural - which can be a pro or a con, depending on what you're after

But I have a couple of questions:

1. I didn’t see anything in the game that concerns liquid, river, pond, sea. Honestly, I really hope that this will be, along with the mechanics of ships and fishing, which will fit very well into the spirit of the adventure, will this be added?

2. In the game I saw a couple of pre-created villages, will it be possible to build an altar and restore these villages or will they remain abandoned?

3. Will the mechanics of cooking various dishes be created, or will we stuff ourselves with lean meat and berries?

Toast is probably asleep, but I can answer these:

1. They've said Voxel water won't be in for EA but might come at a later time, it's a super challenging system that they want to get right. They've made their own engine so it'll be a significant effort. There are lore reasons why there's no water present in the world.
2. You can definitely do this, but it won't bring additional NPCs or anything (though that would be a cool feature)
3. This is in the game, just beyond the scope of the beta, and it includes farming.

no, I just take out the RTX to test it, same scenario as my cousin. He has a mini ATX, so I am trying to replicate his issue by sticking to one PCIe only.

I have the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060, 6GB, and it was working last week, before I swapped it out with the RTX. When I installed it on my cousin's working PC, it bricked his PC, but his old GPU restored it, but stopped again. I couldn't get his PC to come back on, but it powers the fans and MOBO, just no display with HDMI. His MOBO does not support HDMI, only VGA and DVI (outdated, I know). My own 1060 GPU does not work on my computer, but my latest GPU does bring up the display and I'm lost what could have happened when I put the 1060 GPU away.

Small update: GPU turns on lights and spins fan on pcie 16x slot 1, no hdmi or dvi cables work. Slot 2 pcie 16x, the dvi cable will work with the 1060 GPU. All of this was tested on my old motherboard. So, its whatever now. Since it doesnt read hdmi on new mobo, im done with this GPU.

Since it sometimes work, i have to say this gpu is faulty now.

My cousin's PC works, the PCIe 16x slot was fine, when it used my 11 yr old GPU, the Nvidia Geforce 660 Ti (3GB), and everything is fine. I guess both of our GPUs just died at the same time, even though they still get power. Nothing wrong with either motherboards, and all drivers are installed with his BIOS updated from 2014 to 2018 firmware.
