Wooo the last % has gone from 7 minutes down to 5. Almost done!
It's been more than 5 minutes and it's still says 2 minutes... its like waiting for a bus
Two will come at once?
Best to walk away for 5 minutes, then you can come back to it either being done or at 30 minutes to go
When it first came out it had some issues, but it's supposed to be better now. If you feel like it, maybe give it a try while you wait for other games.
Yuh huh
we don't have the new TV's mounted yet so I hooked up our projector so me and my friend could play some Minecraft together.
Aww yiss couch co-op
i just never understood the whole weapon skin thing.
people will buy anything i suppose
After we finished FFVII Remake yesterday my best friend decided to boot up Amalur Re-Reckoning and man that just reminded me of how boring the combat mechanics are in most RPGs
That game is jank but at least it has care put into its combat mechanics proportional to the amount of gameplay it occupies
That almost makes me think of a possible game where combat mechanics between normal fights and boss fights are completely different
Amalur was definitely meant to be an MMO and got scaled down to a single player game at the last minute
Like a JRPG where you only have like 50 or so actual turn-based fights, the actual overworld battles are just handwaved with simoler mechanics
Amalur definitely has a lot of those elements yeah
I remember getting to the second major zone and being like "Oh yeah, can't wait for a new biome! New enemies, new areas, let's go!" and then it was the same goblin things, just red and brown. So I dropped it and never picked it back up, heh.
Oh well
It has very rough edges and the gameplay loop does get stale after a while because there's very little depth in it
The baseline mechanics are solid though
Yeah, for sure.
If there was better enemy variety and tactics you needed to employ, it would have been pretty good
I enjoyed it up until that point, but then it just kinda hit me like a ton of bricks that I wasn't in for anything new.
The writing reminds me of Fable almost, and the setting actually had very heavy grim fairytale vibes so that's nice, but it just has some fundamental problems
Of course if you look past that it's not a bad game tho
Also Chakrams best weapon I'm not taking questions
I also played Chakrams, I think they're generallly considered the best weapon
smalland is great fun alot like grounded give it a try
I second this! Smalland just had an update and it's loads of fun!
while I wait for Enshrouded...
what is that?
this looks like stop motion animation
Why does that look like chibi runescape
If it's a game, I might like to play it
it looks like the game with the beavers
its called Noble Fates, absolutely addictive...on steam, on sale too
I too play minecraft, except modded and on java edition.
fantastic little game for $20
it does look nice
very addictive!
dirty dwarves
best single player video game ever = Romance of the Three Kingdoms
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_of_the_Three_Kingdoms_(video_game_series)
Romance of the Three Kingdoms (三國志, Sangokushi, lit. "Records of the Three Kingdoms") is a series of turn-based tactical role-playing simulation grand strategy wargames produced by Koei. Originating from Japan in 1985, fourteen installments of the game have been published in Japan, Taiwan, China, South Korea and North America to date. While the ...
a game I'm building 2+ years.

Its private, cant see
I'm on the fence
Get off the fence!! Don’t you know this is a dinosaur park?!?
oh I thought they were trolls, I haven't been called a dinosaur for ages even though I'm old 🙂
80’s baby here. I’m my old school bus number old.
It’s as old as I thought I’d ever get lol
80's baby.....
I don't need memes.....I was there for it in person ...😆
had the best mullet money could buy!
sometimes I wish devteams would add cashshop to discord. It cost 100 tokens to post a meme or gif. 90 tokens = 1 euro / dollar
‘81 here.
Had the best bowl cut money could buy
'86, a mullet survivor as well
Ok, but we don't stream sober
And get canceled our first episode
You have just convinced me not to do it 😄
If it’s one thing the 80’s taught us, it wasn’t how to filter our mouths or not take risks lol
And it doesn't matter where you grew up
went to sleep. I could see the video as private so I thought others could too as long as you had the link
i mean it looks like a good start, keep it up 🙂
yet if you would ask me personally: that building system sucks. but thats just me as I cant deal with conan/rust/ark building system as it just feels so damn bad
Is it more of a free style building system? The system is designed this way because I have base invasions where swarms of enemies come and they can destroy your base. The video left this feature out.
What game build system you like? I'll take a look.
well lets say Enshrouded looks like it will have the dream version of building system
but I for example rather have building system like MC, Vintage story, 7 days 2 die has rather than ark/conan/rust style at any day really
but again I might be a rare person on that one
it's been a while, isn't 7 days to die like Minecraft build style?
as for me voxel based (is thats how its called?) building gives lot more freedom to players
I think most of us are here to get away from the cookie-cutter building systems in most games. I know for me that's why I'm here.
well, that video of building isn't best. most objects you can place anywhere, the snapping feature should be removed from the stairs.
oh it somewhat is
to be fair to have voxel style building and free placement mode for stuff like cosmetics, stations, and other stuff like that would be a dream come true to me
the snapping feature is just for platform, walls, roofs and flooring
you can take your grinding wheel, smelter, workbench, ect and build anywhere on the platform, they don't snap, well smelter has to go outside
The build system is inspired by Valheim
oh yea, i think stairs snap because flooring for higher levels snap too and i wanted it to be easier on you to build it right next to flooring
ok here is an example what i could not make with system like that just because how limited the roofs and walls are in games with such building system (not built by me)
this is like mini blocks?
very cool building
yep, they have the normal 1mx1m blocks and then you can chisel any block to 32x32x32 smaller bits
(game: vintage story)
recently they added support beams that have the 32x32x32x grid snapping (basically you choose 2 points where the beam is made and you can see in this pic how people used it to get diagonal wall stuff (no clue how its named )
and also gives lots of detail
together with microblocks
and normal blocks
yea tying to think how this can work for base invasions.
like for mine, they attack the platform below, if that is destroyed everything above breaks
but yeeah I can imagine also it would be a sanity sacrificing effort to make it work with sieges
like in this game you share
if you break the bottom blocks, do the upper ones fall?
depends on settings but you can enable advanced physics that makes you have supported blocks
but again I think if your main idea is not building super cool looking building but instead to have the buildings more as protection/fortress I think with a good gameplay loop you can pull it off
also for this there is a mod in works that adds catapults that when boulder hits it makes a hole from collision but not like a regular hole as in mc when things explode but rather like realistic one that modifies the blocks around to be microblocks
bgasically holes but more detailed
yea that is cool. I'd have to check out the game and see how they did all of this to geet a good idea.
this is my very first build system. It could use more work.
I wish you best of luck 🙂
In short I do see your project having potential 🙂
and also remember you cant please everyone and i would say do what ever makes you happy 💚
This was the home I built for my character in a Conan Exiles RP server 😊🙏
Wow
Thanks. I do believe my build system can be a lot better. For a palyable game it's good enough but what you shared does give me some ideas.
This is really cool!
This is my Pyramid on top of the World in Valheim.
Found the highest possible point on my seed, and just went UP
The mist is so far below you can barely see the frost tips of the high points, and those blimpy tick droppin’ mofos can’t even reach it lol
Thank you 😊
This looks so evil! In an awesome way!
Thank you 😊
I did the Home Alone emote on your pics cuz DAAAAAAAMN that’s some amazing build!
Also - if you look close I finished most of the bottom half so it’s like a giant D4 waiting for someone to step on it like a Lego lol
Portal Knights
Whoop Whoop!
ty i really wanted something to happen
I do too 😆
it's a house with timber framing, that's the term
Oh yep thankyou

Palia stress test tonight!! 5-9pm EST 🥳
interesting
The reveal trailer was the most badass trailer ever
Yea We currently have 2 servers for conan on xbox, i wish i would have had the pc version to be able to mod the game like that. i have built cities on our servers. looking forward to try that in this game.
lmao its hella broken
I didn't even get to try it. Their POS login system kept giving me "unknown error" when I tried using my login to download. F that game
Yeah I kept getting Error Code 0 and everyone shrugs at me lmao
I actually started on Xbox. I have only been playing on PC starting this year. I ran a PvE-C server on Xbox for a while. It was so fun to see how creative people got 😄
See theres some Palia folks here, yea the stress was a bit of a disaster lol they said it was better than the last one but I heard the last one wasn't as bad
I didn’t even get in 😞
Kept getting “unknown error” when trying to download it.
Glad to see you got to give it a go though.
meanwhile in blue elf land...
can't wait to do that with Enshrouded, after EA release...
YouTubers got their hands on armored core
Oooo I can't wait to hear what they think
As in the mass of videos are already out
Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to watch much youtube until the 1st/2nd
TLDR the reactions?
Really? Odd
It's got good reactions
Some don't like the bland gray environments
Combat fluid that kinda stuff
Im out of the country right now, so most of my day is afk. And so far Ive been to exhausted every night to do anything but fall asleep.
Tbh it would probably have to be universally reviled by them for me to even question purchasing it.
they complain about the environment being too gray, but it's not like Elden Ring was that colorful besides the giant yellow tree, wasn't it?
as long as combat is good, people will still like it
Yeah Elden ring's colours were washed out... the only way I could describe it. Although when you first entered limgrave... 😍 and when you see that tree!
nnnfff
Elden Ring had some areas that were very heavy in one color, but Limgrave and the general area around it were very colorful imo
my point was that it wasn't colorful everywhere, or rather, most of it wasn't that colorful
the grey tones were needed to give off a sense of dread
plus if it had all been lush it wouldn't have stood out that much
the contrast is what made it an incredible world
My biggest gripe with Elden Ring is that most of the small dungeons don't have worthwhile rewards, while some are nearly build defining. Makes a subsequent playthrough less enjoyable, at least for me.
I'm a very casual player in that genre of games (I've never finished my 1st playthrough of ER, I was playing coop and we just went on vacay and fell off it), but I think it's fine? Like, asking a game this dense and bi to also hold high replay value
when you see the conditions under which FromSoft devs labor
like, it's more than I could ever ask
well, the different endings are probably the only reason one would want to replay the game anyway, and at that point you'd rather just blaze through everything anyway
ER was my first souls game. I’ll never forget stepping out into the world, feeling so much joy, excitement, anxiety, and terror all at once.
And like most I went right for the knight on the horse. 🪦
Practically everything was killing me.
Over
and over,
and over…
but it was the challenge that hooked me, the stories, the beautiful open world and environments, the constant fear of what’s around the next bend, and am I gonna lose all my shit again…
I loved it so much I beat it 3 times on PC before buying it on Xbox just so I could play it with a friend 😂- then beat it 3 times so I could see all the endings 🤓
Another favorite thing for me was Elden Ring in-game cosplaying!
I made so many themed characters that we damn near spot on with all the gear hoarding I did.
A lot were Critical Role Vox Machina chars like Grog, Keyleth, Pike, etc…
Did a spot on Guts from Berserker.
And just some of the most bizarre chars that I loved dearly lol
This guy NAILS all the feels of an ER player https://youtu.be/LSyRf8rAjTs

good thing ER was your first souls game, then
not sure how far you would have gone in previous Dark Souls
oh man I hated the first one
Did they ever release the prequel DLC?
I haven’t played ER in about a year now.
Last I saw the PVP arenas were a legit prediction come true, and then there was some teaser artwork for the big DLC that was rumored to release early 2023 🤷🏻♂️
Dark Souls games can't really be compared with Elden Ring imo: those were far more "scripted", the total opposite of an open world. They were also more grindy than Elden Ring by far in my experience
just a silly comparison, but you're free to skip the initial Tree Sentinel in ER, but you were forced to go against the big boss in the Asylum in DS1
I don't even consider the "boss" in the "intro" of ER since you're supposed to die there
As much as I wanted to deep dive down FromSoft and their souls repertoire, I did a lot of homework on their previous titles, and never pulled the trigger on them.
Not for fear of the grind or difficulty, just (atm) was and still am a big fan of open world, and after beating the game 6 times, I felt I’d kinda got my fix of souls for a bit.
Now I’m a Valheim and Dave the Diver addict 😂
So that kinda shows my dedication to niching down lol
Tried out Black Desert today. Character creation is awesome, battle is easy but havent gotten far enough to know if I like it yet.
It's boring tbh
Those huge crowds everywhere and the button mash combat throw me off
I play Dave the Diver for the past 3 days. I love that game.
Heck yes!!
DtD is the beezkneez!
I lose track of hours spent on that game so often.
Just ONE more dive!
I am at the part to kill the big shark in the vortex
Good luck!!! That thing wrecked my world so many times, I gave up and failed the mission…twice! Lol
you need the upgraded sniper rifle and the sleepy hammer I think
Anyone here played Rim World
I always tried to keep a spare air can, water scooter, and get my guns upgraded before going into the vortex. But something would always happen that caused me to be short on most of those before going in and being pancaked
Spider-Man 2 😩
Only just finished the tutorial, so around 1500 hours.
Ha ha ha nice
I have to do the limestone area and then also kill the giant shrimp.
Currently playing with likely too many mods, but I'm trying to create the ultimate melee pawn. So far she's already wiping out mech clusters and sieges alone.
Wow
That’s strong
I haven’t messed with mods yet I still want to be the game then use mods
Beat the game? Is that a thing?
There’s currently 3 “endings” but you can play after all of them
Lol mines more like 5000
I know, but I never bother, I play until I get wiped out
Tbh they are all pretty boring
How many is too many? 👀
0.68
Not as many as others, I seen mod lists on reddit that scared me.
Think I'm less than 100, most are QoL or Vanilla Expanded, plus a couple of the Alpha mods.
No run and gun, no CE, though I have considered giving them a go at some point.
My “QOL only” modpack is about 200 lol
Hahahahahaha brilliant. I should load it up and check actually
Run and gun is very good, you won’t ever go back
CE is like marmite you will ether love it and always use it or just find it annoying and not use it ever again
I love marmite! It's even the root of my username
I tried craftopia out recently ! - decent game to kinda kill time until enshrouded comes out - but the games bugs are p rough in multiplayer
I'm waiting on a couple more VE mods to release before I start my next play.
Like I said, I like to play until wipe but try to save 1 or 2 colonists by getting them off map. Use Character Editor to save them, then start a new game using them. On 3rd "generation" of that right now, want to start a VFE Royalty game with my melee goddess when the time is right, unless I accidentally get her killed first, which is likely.
Anyone see the announcement for the new 16 player coop survival game called Codename: Islands? Not much in the trailer
Are you ready to awaken the island spirit?
Treehouse Games shares the first look into its upcoming 100% cooperative survival crafting game nicknamed Codename: Islands where players will embark on a journey together with friends to awaken an island spirit and explore the magical ocean world around them.
For more information, follow Treehouse Ga...
Yeah get build a space ship
I know, done all 3, they're just not that interesting anymore.
I have occasionally started the reactor just to trigger some raids, it's often how I get wiped.
Losing is fun!
I honestly watched too much Francis John and got terrible ideas from him for ideas of playthroughs.
Ooh! Heavy Sea of Thieves vibes w/ the art style.
I get more UE5 fortnite vibes 😝
Would be a fun idea if they adapted a co-op where you could dive, and run the sushi house together
ooohhhh...that would be awesome!!!
I was thinking the same, it would be a perfect co-op game
Exactly!
Dammit, my 2nd colonist just got murdered on a sea ice run while my starter was off raiding a component camp. Makes it worse that they were married.
I was about to make a very rimworld comment then woops
Definitely rimworld.
I mean, my starting guy could use a new lung
Yup, good fun game. mellow unless you want it to be.
@hearty thistle moving the valheim conversation here: I'm waiting for their "difficulty settings" update to do another playthrough, my group is going to try a hardcore hard mode playthrough.
Noice. Dying makes me feel like I failed, so I'm way more careful these days.
We've gone all the way to mistlands on self-enforced hardcore before, but doing it on a hard mode could be fun.
what
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising has an open beta
oh, the fighting game, right?
that's the extent of my knowledge about granblue fantasy
It's based on a gacha but we don't need to mention that
I mean, as long as the game itself isn't one
Yeah Versus is just a normal fighting game with all the normal stuff
Dlc characters and stages essentially
And actually a long story mode that is updated
So new characters always have a place in the story
Kinda weird! But it works
Really good fighting game, I can def see it popping off with Rollback
I am nodding profusely in agreement
to hide the fact that this is the extent of my contribution to this conversation
Do you have a link or anything?
I’m always down to check out open betas 😃
It's only for PS4/PS5 but https://rising-betatest.granbluefantasy.jp/en/
Fighting the Elite 4 in Pokémon BDSP and so far so good! Although just fought flint who uses fire types, who all have moves super affective against water 😮💨🙄
Ahh 😭
Well good for them. PS deserves to hang on to some exclusives.
Especially with all the things Microsoft has acquired lately
Oh the game is not exclusive
It's coming on PC as well, the beta is just on Sony stuff
Oh. We’ll still. Good for PS.
I was a PS for life until Halo came out 🥸
Then I jumped the Xbox wagon for “the master race”
Any hype for Baldur’s Gate 3?
My xbox hasn't seen the light of day since Microsoft decided that all their xbox games would also be released on PC
Naah, I'm kinda tired of 5e. I might look a BG3 but it's not on my list as of now
IF it's like better than sliced bread I'll consider it
I'll just try to play Divinity Original Sin 2 first 😉
D:OS2 is pretty good, I always get super bored around the second act though.
I feel like I "beat" the mechanics, and the story isn't engaging enough for me to continue. I'm pretty stoked for BG3
Ooh good choice.
You’ll love DOS2.
I loved it so much I bought it for Xbox and PC to play with friends.
So best way I can describe what I think BG3 will be like is Divinity 2 on crack 🥸
Twice the size. 10x’s more options. 200% more dialogue. Over 600+ spells…
And what I love about Larian - the replay ability.
You could play an entire campaign, start over, and get an entirely different story all the way through next time.
I think Fort Joy as a first setting kind of hurt DOS2's replayability
it's an easy 20-30 hours, it takes the wind right out of my sails when I start over
@golden forge - What’s currently on your hype list?
Yay for the hype 🥳
Ooh snap! Great point. That was a big buzzkill for me as well, making that long grind over and over with replays.
So what I’m doing (lemme get the elevator door for you so I can make my pitch), is looking to get a gang of 3 fellow BG3 players to do a legit full campaign playthrough .
The catch; everyone plays in character - like an IRL D&D game.
So there would be tons of great improv/roleplay and lots of lols and out of character moments.
I hope they have a Dungeon Master Mode like DOS2 did (for PC).
I watched this video of Matt Mercer being a GM for a group of people on YouTube and it was brilliant (and hilarious)
That's actually what my friends and I are doing, without the in-character play. We've got a group set up to start a game that weekend.
That's just critical role with in Baldur's Gate instead of tabletop
Lit the same thing
It's a glorified VTT at that point 😂
My current hype list... Kinda empty honestly, I'm not too up to date with video games. Like I'm just waiting for Starfield and Enshrouded to drop these days. Maybe check out Sea of Stars when it comes out, and consider Stalker 2 if it's good
I need to get better at people’ing so I can have fwends too
It was on oldy in DOS2 w/ Matt and some other YouTuber friends of his.
Was kinda glad it wasn’t the CR crew cuz they certainly get enough playtime with eachother
Your list is my list 😂
Remnant 2 is getting great reviews, Armored Core 6 is looking real good too
BG3
Starfield
Enshrouded
Yeah I saw that too.
I wanna watch some reviews on R2.
Idk if I’d pull the trigger on AC6 for myself 🤷🏻♂️
Never played any prior to it. The only FromSoft game im familiar with having played is Elden Ring and I loved the crap outta that game
Well it's been like 10 years since they released an armored core game, so that's fair.
They've added a lot of new fans since the last one
I've needed a good mech game for a long time
Like…I wanna get all of the food games lol
But im tired of wasting money on big AAA companies. I’ve been trying to make an effort in supporting indie developers.
Not Keen Games though 😜
Jk
I’ll have to check out more on AC6 on the YouTubes.
Do y’all have a go-to when it comes to gaming news and reviews on YouTube?
I’m a big ForceGaming fan
Force usually has good takes. I also follow Splattercat for some indie love. Mostly I have enough friends into various genres that I hear about new games coming out from them. I'm the lazy news gamer.
Just got here, anybody gonna nab Ark ascended? I can't help myself.
Hey, if you ever decide to make a YouTube channel “The Lazy News Gamer” is actually pretty catchy 😉
The Vin Diesel game?
So uh... ummm... after roughly 50 or so revives, I finally got lucky with quick claw and destiny bond. I don't know who thought of "Drifblim toughed it out so you wouldn't be sad" was a good idea for people who use destiny bond... AAAAAHHH! WELL, I could have done that with less revives.
No that's ark 2
I bought balders gate 3 a couple days ago and got a refund through steam. I don't understand the hype.
Oh Lawd, he's writing an article
Damn! That sucks. The official release isn’t for another 6 days.
But if playing it legit was not your jam. There’s no reason for anyone to give ya crap about it 🥸
Here’s my theory of Why all the hype.
- There’s a HUGE world of D&D fans. So Larian and WotC working together was a match made in heaven.
- Any Larian studios fan knows how amazing Divinity 2 was and knows this is going to be so much bigger and better
- Make sure to subscribe to my articles @somber valley 😜
Turn based, the movement was awkward, I didn't like clicking to a spot and moving my character there, my character talked to herself all the time about what she was thinking and what she should do. Just not for me.
How much is the sub Steev. I don't know if I can afford all that truth
The sub is free.
The regrets are expensive.
You sound like me when i try big games with deep lore and hordes of devoted players
Too late to the party is how I feel
You should work in advertisement
I’m too self destructive.
But I was a great salesman in the past lol
Old habits die hard.
Buy it, or else
Whoever you choose just don't go for skillup
Feels like he REALLY doesn't like armored core
Has anyone ever played town of salem 1 or 2?
Not I
yes, still playing this....winter #3....waiting for Enshrouded...
I believe so yes
1 or 2?
I have started playing 2, it's fun but a lot of cheaters.
I don't quite understand what it is... a new game? A polish of the original?
a cash grab
Ark🤢
I enjoyed Ark at one point.
Vampire Pirates.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXhfwoPJfm0 really exited for
Thank you for waiting.
(See details at the bottom for pre-play recruitment...!)
Palworld, the open-world survival monster-collection game will be released in ”January 2024!”
We've made a new trailer to announce the release date, so please check it out.

hahah ^^
ive been waiting almost two years for this pure gold standard of a game
God, playing GBVS again... It truly tickles my brain the right way
There's literally only one other game that does that: Gravity Rush 2
I think it has something to do with music
Lost Odyssey might also count
Note: Technically two of these games have OST by Nobuo Uematsu
I've been playing Baten Kaitos: Origins again. I forgot the voice work and music were so well done.
You mean spend money on a game I already have a ton of money in because they added things we’ve been begging them to add for years and now want us to pay for it? NO. I’m heartbroken, but they screwed their fans over
I feel the same way, but probably will get it since none of the survival games I'm super looking forward to are releasing for a few months still.
They didn't just screw fans over they destroyed the community in everyway possible. Who in the hell wants to play on servers where snail games patrols them resetting, and banning clans that are going to wipe clans they are friends with? I mean come on that IS NOT how you run a game good lord.
Same boat. I have bought so many survival games that are awful. But I won’t buy that one. Just bought a computer, loved it, spent a ton of money upgrading it, and now I do t even play 😂 I’m impatiently waiting for this game and 2 others to come out
I'm waiting for Starfield, but already made it clear if Bethesda botches this one that's it for me with Bethesda.
Starfield is more overhyped than Cyberpunk 2077
Feels like it could be the best game ever and people would still complain about something
I keep getting people yelling at me because I have no expectations for the game.
It's literally Fallout 4, Skyrim, and No Man's Sky mashed together in various aspects.
It looks amazing from videos, but the questions are how deep are the mechanics going to actually be and will it work and be fairly stable day one?
i havent seen anyone overhyping starfield but then again i have basically avoided everything other than the official trailers and stuff they put out
Im hyped but i definitely wont preorder
I have it pre-ordered to play it early so I can be brutally honest about the game.
Everyone needs to remember this isn't a alpha, beta, or an early access title this is a "finished" product they are selling.
So was cyberpunk and fallout 76
I have high hopes for the game but ill have to wait and see
I preordered bf2042 and that will be the last preorder ive done
I'll preorder fromsoft games until they disappoint me. Hasnt happened so far.

Just rewatched the Starfield Direct showcase. A shotgun is fired and reloaded and slowed down you can see the cartridges show the shotgun was never actually fired during the reload animation lol.
immersion broken
unplayable
I gotta rethink my stance on Baldur's Gate 3
Because I'm experienced enough with 5e that I can probably just play it pretty well with just basic "here's where you do this" sort of thing
Where as D:OS2 requires me to learn all the knicknacks
ALSO BG3 seems to mostly take place WITHIN the city of Baldur's Gate, which is like... Really good for me
I love me a city game
But... I'm worried the game is a little too big
Frick it I'm getting it
Yeaaah it is a nobrainer if you like rpgs...
My problems mainly come from:
- Game is too long, 174 hours of cinematics is insane
- I've played D&D 5e for years and am completely over the system
- The game is massive at 150 gigs, and I don't like that
Basically I had to put it on my external 5tb drive because of that
Which is NOT internal SSD so it will not load fast
Considering Fallout 4 shows the primers being struck after firing, yeah, it's really damn lazy.
Like my biggest worry is that I'm a busy adult, I just don't have enough time to sink my teeth in a game of this size
Starfield: Introducing Shotgun 2
There are no hammers, the cartridges are actually just discharged with magnets
In Fallout 4 bullet casings are shown as empty on the pipe revolver you see the primers having the hammer indentation in them there is zero excuse to have the ammo shown to be still in the casing when reloading it's lazy.
Especially considering you can see that stuff so easily in Fallout 4 and they throw together a promo show casing a new product which then makes it look like there is LESS attention to detail not more.
I literally don't care if a cockpit has 1000 lights and interfaces because the blunt honest truth is you can't directly interact with over 90% of them lmao.
I mean it could just be an individual bug in that specific shotgun that slipped them, not a general thing
Wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility
but the reason they are there is for immersion and asthetics.
So this is a video about the on going drama I was talking about with ARK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQmRvS2BB7g
One of the biggest corruption scandals in gaming, 90+ of the Island Boys Tribe were banned for no reason after raiding the alleged publisher supported tribe, Tea Tribe.
It’s been months and they are still banned by Snail Games, whom still have not commented on the matter. Snail games sold them their game, then banned them from it for doing nothi...
Yea I haven't even checked to see if I got banned from it lol
Seriously, screw them I'll never buy something with Snail Games attached to it ever.
It's surprising, horrifying, everyth"ing" really.
Some people figure it out instantly, some people need a major incident to realise. So happy I never gave any of them a cent
ooh boy that's terrifying

holy mother of tracking links batman
you can cut everything after and including the ? @full acorn
unless you're really attached to your uuuh analytics
No I just pressed copy link. That's what it gave me. Here I'll try it out. I didn't know that's why it was so long.
I'm working on it
the app gives you tracking links because it is in its interest to track where the clicks are coming from, and what they're coming to
Oh yeah 100% I tell tiktok not to access my contacts... but they still know 😐
The first two are actually really good trailers for the game.
@full acorn Those trailers was awesome, I'm even more tempted to play now. I asked a friend to play with me
Somewhere there is a link for the PK discord. It's not particularly active these days but for the ones who have stuck around, they are more then capable with helping you out with anything PK related.
@untold lynx can we pin this? Totally Keen games related.
make it one message with both the link and the description, and we'll pin it
It will expire in 30 days, funky discord things
Yeah I'll do it, one sec
It’s not a community server so the max you can do is 30 days
For some reason
Wooo, the description is actually really good
Would be a cool game to play while waiting for Enshrouded, any discount codes? Money's been tight this summer
Not to my knowledge, but the base version can go on sale for as little as £5-£10. Close to 5 I believe.
Not advocating it for it either and use it at your own risk. CDKeys might have it cheap and I think the second hand physical copies are cheap also.
I never trust to buy anything from 4th party ^^
A friend of mine wants to play it too, but she's a student so she's tight on money too
I could earn more money if I wanted, but I'm fed up with my profession so I only do bare minimum hours now
I totally get that. I mean I like cheese... but the price it is these days 🙄
Put it on my wishlist, hopefully it'll be on sale within a few weeks
Fingers crossed 🤞 can't wait to see if you like it!
I'm 99% sure I will enjoy it ^^ And my friend too, she also loves these types of games
Best place I've found to look for legit deals on games is IsThereAnyDeal.com. For PK it shows a couple of sites offering 20% off the Steam price and still giving Steam keys, plus some vouchers. See https://isthereanydeal.com/game/portalknights/info/
This isnt a community server?
Or u mean different game server?
not a game, free demo!
with AI smart NPC you can have conversations with! Pretty COOL!!!!
Would be cool if they were programmed with Random rolls check, so if they like you or not, do they know info on what your asking or not, do they have time to sit and chat, all this could be fun.
F
Portal knights 100% worth the money. I may have like a solid 600 hours or so in it 👀👀
agree, i play it with my daughter, she like it. Plus it introduce her to some RPG and building mechanichs. Since i reached the MAX level and played the DLCs, i'm on a project to entirely rebuild and renovate the warior guild to - RP mode on - Give back the warior guild his lost glory - rp mode off -
PK is my comfort game for years. I have over 1600 hours on steam. I keep building towns! I'm hoping to move to Enshrouded but I'll always be soft for PK.
Happy Yorkshire Day! 👌☕️
is that a thing?
waiting for the quotation marks to close
that's one long quote buddy
a big part of "game prices are rising" is "game prices had been stable for a lot longer than literally anything else, and inflation hadn't waited for us"
it's more noticeable on a game than on a burger or a drink, but... it's the same nonetheless
games cost more and more to make though, and especially the way companies like EA and Ubi make them
that's unrelated to the question of how much the game costs to make though
yeah, but they're not selling games on the value of the game either
otherwise you'd be paying Stardew Valley and Minecraft a cool couple hundred each
you control the buttons you press, buddy
support whatever makes you happy, that's all you've gotta do
Oh so this I were it's happening today... that is a lot of text.
To be honest, I don't get games at full price. I can't afford it. But it depends. Will it last longer than a £20 meal or a trip to the cinema. Over the hours of entertainment, is it a lower cost than going out to town every weekend yeah, probably. It just depends what people think value for money is.
But I do also miss the days where you could just put a disc in an play. Now games take roughly a year after release go be in that state. By that time they are usually on sale, so in most cases, sure I'm fashionably late to the party, but the game is usually in a better state too. A win win.
Is Ashes of Creation worth getting hyped for? It looks great and all but I'm still on the fence 'bout it. There's a lot of cool things in that game but also a lot of stuff that worries me. For example playing on public servers only in a game where the entire economy is player interactions 🤔
its still in alpha 💀
That has nothing to do with the question. Besides, alpha is a very loose term these days. The game is quite far along in development to the point where the core idea and gameplay design won't change much
The Valheim Dev's are back from summer vacay!!
Aug 3rd times
I'm glad I'm playing it with some friends, otherwise I can guarantee I'd never finish it.
I tend to get bored of CRPGs
BG3 is a masterpiece and is created by some of the best game dev engineers in the world.
Any new updates
Did not see any updates since June 22
They said there will be some updates in the next 2 days
BG3 RPG of the year!
make sure to delete your saves and uninstall the game before you download the official version
Is it really necessary? I've already downloaded the rest of the 150gigs
No, you don't have to uninstall
Yeah I presumed as much
Like, maybe if you have mods or have otherwise altered the files
hmm
last day to play BG3 Early Access
Is it worth it?
Maybe?
I'm gonna be playing with a different character for a while until I can pester someone to make a mod for glasses
Because this character just doesn't look right without big round glasses
That will depend on how Pact of the Blade will work though
Because my number 2 character is a Pact of the Blade warlock with a... Heavy Crossbow
Which might not be a PHB-allowed thing
necessary, no, recommended by Larian, yes
https://twitter.com/baldursgate3/status/1686386511414169600?t=r9ezyymRukWA_VPB4a6TAQ&s=19
We recommend players with Early Access installed uninstall the game after deleting their save files.
This will reduce the risk of file conflicts when the final game downloads, and should mean more playing, and no troubleshooting!
We’ll have a full guide for launch tomorrow.
1421
199
Especially considering it already downloaded the files
it shouldnt have, they arent doing any pre-downloads or anything like that
Oh hell, I just downloaded the EA today just to get a head start on the larger download.
What a waste of bandwidth. lol
uninstalls
Good thing I don't have any data caps...>>
This came out yesterday with full details of launch day along with the announcement that you can let your character go full mindlflayer if you want.
https://baldursgate3.game/news/community-update-22-wield-the-power-of-a-mind-flayer_75
After six years in the making, Baldur’s Gate 3’s PC launch is right around the corner and we couldn’t have gotten here without you. So let’s have one last Community Update before then to wrap things up, answer some of your biggest questions, and reveal a few final surprises before you finally get stuck in.
I presumed that's a possibility considering the open-endedness of the premise
I honestly hope we get new deity options like Loviatar in the final
Because man it would be the juiciest way to play my meek wizard girl
Because she has boundless curiosity, especially about darker stuff (she was a death cleric multiclass originally), so being able to turn to Loviatar would be extremely juicy
It's supposed to be a sort of transformation for her
If becoming a vampire is possible (very likely considering one of our first companions), I think it would fit her
But... That depends on when I can get her glasses and maybe a wizard hat at the same time
hopefully a BIG wizard hat
it does look hella hard
the hard mode ones are elden ring level in my opinion
Hey everyone! We are ONE DAY away from the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, so we hope your hearts are ready for adventure and your eyeballs are primed for tadpoling. Many of you have been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 since the start of Early Access, all the way back in 2020. You may have accumulated a backlog of old save games, or even a few mods along t...
You have played again some of the bosses in elden right?
Or try fighting pre-balance Malenia.
Doesn't even need to hit you to heal.
I beat both of them pre-nerf/balance, it was definitely painful.
Yeah, I basically got lucky and dodged through a scarlet aeonia and got even more lucky and she didn't do it again before I killed her.
I think I banged my head on that wall for about 4 hours? Maybe more
finally getting in some Diablo 4 game time.
Dog
Ooh, Scotch tape 👀
I was packing orders for my small buiz lol . I'm running a druid. Didn't make it too far in cuz I have work in the AM but relatively fun so far.
It’s a great game. I ran a druid poison werewolf. Super fun.
But never finished the campaign and now with the new “season” thing…I’m new to Diablo, so I just put it down for a bit since Dave the Diver came out, and Baldur’s Gate 3 drops in 12hrs 😃
Oh don't talk to me about pre-nerf Radahn. That guy kicked MY ASS
Today I have a Pathfinder 2e session and then I'm going to download Baldur's Gate 3 over the night, and tomorrow morning... I have work at 7am so I can't play
Then I have work, and then I have work, and then I have work, and then I have a shorter workday, but I'm GMing an RPG session, and then I have a free day... For a few hours I can play Baldur's Gate 3 before I need to go drive for 6 hours to a destination
sadge
I should CYRI BG3 final with my laptop, see if it could barely run it
If I see ANYONE besides Larian themselves streaming BG3 at 11am EST today, I’m calling BS.
With no preloads, and 120GB…half the world won’t be playing til Friday 😂 https://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-3-launch-time-unlock-preload/
120gb... Holy moly
probably a lot of CGI cinematics causing that big download size.
looked good till i actually saw an in-game shot
120Gb though? thats not that bad these days. I mean, if you play wow and download it fresh its 90+GB and diablo 4 is close behind
For me thats start the Dl and go take a shower and a make a sandwich
I'm yurop so I need to wait until 6 before I can DL
wow uses in-game cinematics, made with the game engine
i'm talking recorded stuff not done in-game
wow does have some CGI but not much
its go time baby
im making a fighter thief, with the haste and momentum gear i think i can attack 6 times in one turn, and between disengage and stealth backstabs i think i can infinite backstab all the encounters lol
what u guys building in BG3?
Hoo boy, it DEPENDS
I need to stop reading this channel right now if I want to finish my work and go check out BG3

haha
cmon bro, what u gonna make?
love me a thief as well
yesss, rogue gang
i usually plaqy fighter, ngl.. but the way the rules work with backstab in 5e kind of forces me to go with thief main
Basically, I have a bunch of ifs
--> If Loviatar is a cleric choice, I'm going with my main, Selena as a Human Dark Urge Wizard, who is meek but really into necromancy, and then into Loviatar as a Cleric.
--> If nun / priestess outfits are a thing, I'm going to make Aria, my Barbarian Cleric, who is kind but goes into DOOM MUSIC when taking damage (i.e rage)
--> If Pact of the Blade can make ranged weapons, I'm going to make Orilia, my Warlock who uses a heavy crossbow and has all the eye enhancements.
--> If none of these are possible, I'm making my Wood Elf Monk Lutharin, who was the first 5e character
Though I would honestly also want to get glasses for Selena, so I might skip her if that's not early in the main game as an item or smth
I have played a little 5e in my time so I have some characters to 'import'
right on, sounds like you really thought this out haha. monk sounds cool af, its going to be hard to not try all the new classes we have access to now
have to finish one playthru before i make alts
i kind of want to play around with some kind of cha based multiclass, like paladin sorc
Yeah I'm definitely "Skyriming" this game
Multiple playthroughs, never going thru main story 😉
Even though 17k endings is pretty good
ngl im just trying to break the game with a solo monster and watch things explode
i wish we could export characters, breaking the game was so fun in bg2
I mean, 5e is a solved game at this point, unless Bear Barb Druid has been fixed that's still a completely nutty combo for example
that sounds amazing
and its a wisdom cha build- perception and deception build!
you dip like 2 lvls in to barb for that?
3 to get subclass
oh ofc
Bear totem barb gets resistance to all damage
you tryna make me roll an alt out the gate, raven
And you can just keep wildshaping with Druid for temp HP
It's called the Onion Druid for a reason
But yeh, then there's all sorts of BS with fighter polearm master and archery
whenever i did each of my play-thrus the stats that mattered the most for content was cha for convo rolls and wisdom for perception rolls. i been trying to think of a way to implement both, this sounds amazing
One insane wombo combo we found was Assassin Rogue + any Paladin
Instacrit to Smite
For bazillion damage
yea i played with pally, smite is nasty
Basically a divine assassin type
you must have to roll it with scimitars to keep it a finesse weap for backstab multiplier?
Or Rapier
Our rogue mostly used Bow until going for a stealth instakill
Also used sleeping poison for, you guessed it
yea bow rogue is OP. i killed a 20 pull solo without getting hit
What else nutty did we have
I mean my Wiz/Cleric was also pretty nutty
5 Dex but compensated with heavy armor LOL
ppl do crazy out of the box stuff with wiz that blows my mind- i wouldnt have ever thought of some of the ways they exploit scrolls and spells
I'm a pretty straightforward player, I just made a nutty Wiz/Cleric with heavy armor and super spells
ppl skipping entire encounters with featherfall and nabbing all the loot
featherfall with jump spell, they jumped across the map lol
Yeah I can see that
So many beautiful hair styles in BG3. Hair highlights is a nice touch.
I'll only get to play like... 24 hours from now
But, that will allow for all the silly content I need to know for character creator to come out
if anyone wanna try multiplayer hmu
I wasn't even aware that Loviatar is an alternative spelling for Finnish mythological goddess Louhi. As a Finnish person this was the discovery of the day
Most of the TSR era D&D pantheons are like that. There are a few unique gods, but most are esoteric versions of real world mythos.
It's one of the things I actually really appreciate about TSR era D&D.
Yeah I was aware of Mielikki, but I wasn't just aware of that spelling
Loviatar isn't as obvious
I’ll letcha know when I’m done with the download
Man I'm finished with it but I'm so tired from gaming last night 😞
I'm just having some fun in Tears of the Kingdom until the BG3 download is done. Though...>> I really should get to prepping my Warhammer Fantasy game...
Does anyone know for sure if uninstalling BG3 EA and reinstalling at time of launch today was how to do it?
I read and followed all of the Steam page recommendations.
When assigning it to my SSD, it said 122.4gb space needed.
But when I hit install it’s been sitting at 97gb 🤷🏻♂️
Any ideas?
Downloads are compressed. It'll expand as it downloads.
I’m at about 2hrs into the DL at about 80%. And I’d rather not go through this process again.
You're fine. Uninstall the EA version. Delete your save files. Then download as usual and you'll be fine.
Oh? 🤔 ok will keep an eye on it. Thank you.
supposed to go ingame and delete saves from ingame so it also deletes cloud saves but youll prob be fine
It’s party time!
Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now on PC. 6 years in the making, we sincerely hope you enjoy the adventure!
Steam: https://larian.club/y_BG3onSteam
GOG: https://larian.club/y_BG3onGOG
Baldur’s Gate 3 launches on PS5 September 6th. Preordering the Deluxe Edition on PS5 will give you access to 72hrs Early Access and many other goodies....
i laugh in ark
ark with all dlc is 400+ GB
really?? I had no idea
mine is 485
how much of this is mods to turn enemies into mudcrabs
none, i believe mods are stored in a separate folder entirely
485 still seems preposterously large
well that's ark for ya
persoanlly i have 6TB of nvme ssd storage in raid 0 so i don't really mind
i've only used about half of my storage plus a seperate 1tb nvme drive for various file storage
so i've used 4TB in total
So having a full party run around completely nude with the exceptions of boots was a total hoot in BG3 yesterday.
Swords weren’t the only thing swinging 😂
any idea what exact day the beta will be open next week?
well it's not next week that's for sure
thought it was the second week of augest?
the important words were currently, hope, and might
don't hype yourself
hype leads to disappointment
something something the dark side
well i was distracting myself with valheim but now my friends are playing BG3
i don't really like games like BG3 so eh
to each their own
i'm looking for more survival games to hold me over
i've already played rust, ark, valheim just to name a few
have you played... 7 Days to Die? Conan Exiles? Subsistence?
haven't heard of that last one
yeah it hasn't been advertised much. single dev, good graphics, fun and difficult (has various difficulty settings too)
it's still at a stage where there's not too much overall late game goals or anything, it's very much like the name suggests... you subsist... as long as you can/want
i'm not sure how i feel about it tbh
i may try it anyways due to it being only like $14
yeah price is nice
it can end up feeling grindy so if you hate that then maybe don't
I only played it so much because my fiancee and I like survival crafting games together a lot
lots of gathering, crafting, building you can do, but buildings are still a bit limited
but now you can make irrigation systems for your own greenhouses
i don't mind a grind if it's reward is equal to the effort given
if i have to spend an entire play session just to get a single item then it better be game changing (i can play for 16 hours straight)
like i said it's only $14 so i'll try it
well... it doesn't really satisfy that heh. The grind is for keeping up survival and to be able to build more. There's not really any special loot
yeah might as well try if you can afford it
it doesn't have to be a specific item
like as an example
if i spend like 8 hours grinding up for a farm, it better be worth it when i build said farm
ahh gotcha
the only big red flag for me is that it's been in early access for 7+ years
i get that it's an independant dev but still
haha yeah that's fair. Same like 7d2d. At this point I'm not sure what makes them early access vs. just full games that are still updating
early access means still in early development
i'm highly surprised that 7d2d is still in early access
i've seen physical copies for consoles
they're even still calling every update an ALPHA
it's on like alpha 27 now or something
oh alpha 21
almost 10 year old game lol
oh. Yes do avoid wolves and bears at first
we played on an easier difficulty because the default is kinda brutal
ahh
i think it's odd that a 9mm pistol with 9 rounds won't kill a bear
i mean all shots to the face too
should at least deter the thing
Yeah I think thats just to encourage the weapon upgrade system
Or gotta get rifle or shotgun
I come back to this channel and I'm like what the heck is going on and oh thank god it's 7d2d
Yeah, my naked and afraid D&D party conversation in BG3 didn’t take flight 🥸
My summer retreat has been saved
Thank you Keen Team for keeping the dream alive
😂
Now I can play more BG3
I'm just thinking about my characters and going through them and thinking which one of them I will choose to torment with Dark Urge
I’m still trying to find 3 others to play BG3 in a full party, through a full campaign.
The idea would be to have everyone play in character and make it a YouTube series for my channel.
I think it would be a fun experience.
add the times at which you'd play and timezone if you're looking for players
Is it ok to do that here in this channel?
I mean you already have your post here mentioning you wanna do that you goof
I’m US (NYC Time zone - EDT).
Would hope to play/record on the weekends. Pretty flexible between 9am - 10pm EDT.
Maybe 2hr sessions per whenever? If it’s anything like playing real dnd - scheduling/adulting might allow once a month 😂
Even if I wanted to try that game the size is so off-putting
125 gb isn't that lar.........ok yea it's a bit much
ARK enters the chat
i will play Enshrouded
That sounds like a threat
Like you're like "I've already hacked into their server, and I have the current build in my hands"
allready f'd up my build and had to remake my char 🤣
I've been playing some Palia. It's definitely fun, but no Enshrouded replacement. I sure do wish I could build a bit easier in it, heh
I need something to play while I wait. Burnt myself out on RimWorld again, saving Grounded for when my kids play too, and wife and I are bored of 7 Days To Die again.
I feel ya. I wish Valheim would come out with their difficulty settings patch. Gonna try a hardcore hard playthrough with the crew.
If only there was some other survival game to fill the time 🤔
the forest
Nah, I've never liked the building in the forest. Plus I'm not really into the horror style.
Conan Exiles?
Played too much CE back in the day, now it's full of cosmetics and crap so that's a no from me.
And Ark is a hard no
I love CE. Still do. Fun with a group of friends if you rent a server.
friends are over for me to continue playing my first ever playthrough of Ocarina of time I'm getting the fire medallion right now, while my hubby plays soul hackers 2.
How much is your electricity bill?
- yes
Got quite the collection going there
we actually haven't gotten our first months electric bill yet but I anticipate a very high one. we ran a similar setup at old place and it was about 115 USD.
I just got the fire medallion!
I'm jealous. What I wouldn't give to play thorugh OoT for the first time again. 😛
mine is about $600
Mine is £50 and even then I don't want to be spending that much on it.
dude, what you doing, heating a pool?
Water temple is on the docket for the next session. I just unfroze the Zora King. It's going much better now that I can play on an actual N64 controller.
I'm not expecting it to be this high, but we do have a hottub now.
I'm here dreading my 160 bill because of running the AC non step <_<
I miss my old apartment where it'd be 50 dollars outside of the summer
my bills are pretty much 0 to none cause we are always paying 20 euros above the montly bill so we always even have returns
i have a 3090ti and a 4070 in my bedroom alone, my 3090ti is the kingpin edition, it has a ln2 oc vbios and it alone can and does use 550w
plus we have 4 fridges 4 freezers, a giant portable air conditoner and so on
the rest of the house has like 8 other comptuers plus our home server
we also have a bit of an indoor greenhouse
i could go on
Jesus
yeah that 550w is just the card itself
not even the rest of that system
Hating the rich is a feeling
WHY DO YOU HAVE 4 FRIDGES AND FREEZERS
Do you have an army of lawn gnomes you must feed every day or they will come and eat your toes?
You ever notice that Valheim carapace looks like a happy gummy bear?
Hahaa
I took a selfie next to this tree because I felt it was mocking my face.
“Resting Birch Face”?
i live with 2 other people, one fridge and freezer is in our basement for alcohol and glass chilling, we have another fridge and freezer in our kitchen, same for our garage, then we have a chest freezer in the garage as well but that's used for making beer, i have a fridge in my bedroom because i don't always feel like putting pants on and going down a flight of stairs to get a drink or some food.
we're not rich, we're in crippling debt, we don't own anything we have, the bank owns it
in fact i'm still paying off my debt for my computers
worth it though
i plan to upgrade to a 4090ti if and when it comes out, if it never comes out then i'll wait for the 5090.
With that many fridges, and all the other stuff you listed, your electric bill must be screaming. No wonder you’re in “crippling debt”
This is how Troll armor is born 🥸
i don't pay the electric bill, the vast majoirty of my debt is from my car
Feels bad 😦 spended 300 euros on the sims
And 50 euros on atlas fallen
Also I notice we use this topic as off topic 🙂
Would you say you had a... Bad feeling? :)
Debating on buying Baldur's Gate 3...
So am I actually.
Though I just downloaded some mods for 7dtd to play on a server with irl friends, so I'll hold off BG3 a little longer
I never got heavy into 7dtd personally
It's great. If you fancy something like original sin but darker and with D&D, it's a blast
Absolute talk, 60 is a bunch. Relatively speaking now it's a steal compared to the market...
wrath of the righteous is a great RPG too from what I heard, less noob friendly tough, but you can grab it for cheap on sale
If the game is worth it, I don't mind the $60.
Think D;OS gameplay boosted by D&D rules
I never played D:os, or any dnd based game, but have always been interested
oh ok
I did play the top-down Diablo-esque Baldurs Gate II
It has an easier learning curve than any other D&D pc game I played
quite ergonomic
ok so not BG2 but the HnS version ?
hack & slash
Ah yes, that
I mean, it's an RPG in the classic definition, you better enjoy stories and a bit of reading
it's not a monster bashing game, although it can be played like it, that would be missing the point entirely
but these games can usually be played with the highest disregard to talk and just (trying to) crush anything and everything if you only enjoy combat
"allies" or foes 😛
the combat gameplay is great. I don't know if resource wise it's viable to do so though, with adequate char selection maybe
I think I'll enjoy it- I'm a huge fan of literature and storytelling
looks closer to a troll face skin
I really love bg3 playing it Soo much my eyes today felt in real pain
I'm playing a couple of hours today before going away on vacay and unable to play it for a week or so
So far, I like it. Played three or so hours last night. I rolled a rogue as they had a longsword bonus but I think I'll reroll as either a ranger or a fighter- it seems that if I try to fight outright with the rogue without using specific stealth tactics, I get walloped. Could be a very fun way to play but I don't know enough about the game yet to want to play that way- want to learn the game before I play stealth
Soo many survival games are coming out also alot of RPGs I can say mmo era might be slowly. Dying
Average portal knights session. Sometimes people still take things which annoy me. If they just asked then it would he highly likely I would just give suff away.
Lol me in any game that has storage

BG3 ! If you haven’t played it yet, you’re missing out
Can't afford it atm and not the biggest fan of turn based combat
Can't afford it. Feel free to get me copy, I'd even co-op with you
The more I play, the more I am consumed by the world of dark souls. 3 is amazing!
Simply a tribute to Dark Souls 3, I owe it to the game.
5 years have passed since it came out and I still remember every second of playing it for the first time. Simply a masterpiece.

I've been enjoying Palia closed beta with m'lady, it's pretty dang fun if you want a non-competitive MMO
Open beta is Aug 10 I believe
Yeah, I've been playing it at as well, it's a nice chill game.
Same. Super chill game, but it's a bit grindy for me as it is
I just don't have a good time with the building in it

yeah I also made it in, its def something Ill vibe to occasionally but likely wont commit to
Sheogorath? Yah, that’s him. Lol
I met him at MAGFest 2019 & 2020. Read for one of his panels, and later had a long conversation with him that nudged me into voice acting.
Then summer of last year, he told me to join one of his other online classes. So I did. It was a total blast.
That’s awesome! I’m really excited for the open beta. I tried getting in their first closed beta but their website was jacked up and it wouldn’t let me get into my own account to get the download 😞.
I heard it was atrocious though.
Hoping open beta turns things around.
atrocious? who said that? it's fun and they are fixing reported bugs pretty well
mostly just bad server performance
Everyone I know that got in said there were tons of bugs and lag.
Which is to be expected for any closed beta. But I’m still hopeful.
Looks like a fun time killer.
yeah there is occasional lag, and they do this thing where every time you load into a different zone, it seems to randomize your server, which apparently each "server" is 25 player max. So you have to re-invite a friend/party member any time you go into diff zones if you don't happen to randomly land in the same server
hope they figure that system out
I was gonna sign up for palia beta but I did not wanna ruin a game before
So I m waiting till they fix some bigger issue
that's fair
especially when it's not a game that being ahead of other players matters much
all about chillin
Yikes! That would drive me bonkers lol
it is a frustration
Im most annoyed by the game lagging out on my movement inputs on occasion
like, I'll walk forward, and see a bug I want to catch, but then my character keeps walking forward despite me letting off the movement keys and scaring the bug
oh weird I haven't had that one. But yeah I assume a big part of beta testing is guaging their server and lag issues
waiting for palia

also waiting for game "Rooted"
tomorrow is Atlas fallen soo many games coming out
and i do have only two pair of hands and eyes XD
We shall see tomorrow how it's gonna be ^^
Palia is fun. Just has a lack of content that keeps it very shallow.
But hopefully by the time of full release they will have added a lot more content.
I know the feeling!
I’ve been doing my best at not buying anything besides Diablo IV this year.
Trying to avoid buying from AAA’s as well.
Baldur’s Gate 3, with the exception that I bought it 3yrs ago.
Funny thing is, with all the big title games I have, I keep coming back to Dave the Diver for its unique style and chill gameplay vibes.
Pardon the ADHD tangent that went all over the place, unsolicited 🥸
I definitely want to see what people are saying about Atlas Fallen.
I totally get you 🙂
And no need to apologize for it 🙂

have you played?? it looks freaking awesome & the devs are on top of things! how do u like?
I played it for about an hour and it looks really good
beat remnant 2 today. pretty fun game
Bought it, played it for about 4 hours
Not bad but needs polishing
No bugs or glitches, that's something but a few elements of combat are slow or choppy and one type of enemy is way overpowered imo
Anyone playing Starsiege: Deadzone in its open beta?
I played it for a bit, but then Dark and Darker released and it's waaaaay more fun.
They're very similar, I think its just preference you know.
I'm way better at Deadzone than Darker lol
Yeah, I don't think Starsiege is bad, but I'm just more of a sword and board person than a shooter person
I feel you
I feel like in Starsiege, there is less I can do to turn a fight around than in Dark and Darker. Skill expression just feels more present in a melee-focused game.
Oh, another one is Fractured Veil. Did anyone get into the alpha/beta? I know its planning to release in Oct.
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?
it's only $10 atm
FOR KARL
ah, forgot to set my username to the one in my email
that wasn't even russian...? it was just nonsense.
It’s on game pass if anyone has that
I love it

Thoughts on the game?
Cute so far, definitely hits the cozy mark but I need far more time to have a legitimate opinion.
I've played a good chunk of it as well. It definitely captures the casual stardew vibe of those sorts of games. My only real problem is a personal one: the building doesn't really do it for me. It's very simple, and while you can decorate your house nicely, I like a more custom building system.
But if you're looking for a nice relaxed gathering/farming simulator? It's very good.
What kind of game is it like? My time at portia?
Trailer doesnt show much, just a bunch of PoH and farming. Ends with them running to combat or something
The only real "combat" is hunting. There are no enemies or health bars or anything like that.
It's very much a farming/gathering sim
^ it is not a survival/crafting type thing, it's 3d stardew essentially
Grindy..... like realy grindy.... like extrem mega crazy grindy.
And progress is slowed down a lot by timers. For example 1 room for your house takes 8h to finish after spending the ressource or ressource crafting (like planks or ingots) take from 2-4 minutes each and longer at higher tiers..... and farming is the worst of all, not only do you have to water your plots severall times a day, but getting seeds takes 40+ minutes of converting your ressources and only 1 to 3 at a time and you can't place severall workstations (like in conan exiles for example) because you are limited by a max amount which results in 1 workstation max of each type.
And i almost forgot you have to make gold too, to be even able to progress, so you have to sell your gathered ressources, which slowes you even more down.
Nonetheless is has its charm and somehow it's nice and relaxing to play.
The timer aspect is what turned me off of that game, I refuse to play games like that but that’s just me personally
I wouldn't expect it to be any better than that..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY6yb8OoFvw idk if there's any other Titan Quest fans out here but TQ2 has ACTUALLY been announced only a short 17 years after initial TQ release!
Nemesis, Goddess of Retribution, is out of control. She is corrupting the Threads of Fate and condemning all those who oppose her to eternal punishment. Take up your weapon, fight alongside gods, and change fate itself in Titan Quest II, an action RPG inspired by Greek mythology.
Return to the classic mythology-inspired setting of Titan Quest ...
Yeah, I want to see gameplay for sure. Even more importantly the class/progression systems.
If anyone is looking to try out Palia, the Open Beta is running now and you can join using my invite code: https://accounts.palia.com/sign-up?referral=976fee1c-e756-4abe-b73b-a11a41e106b4
Ah, this is where we were talking about Palia. I signed up for the open beta this morning, and then spent an hour scouring my discord channels to find where this conversation was, lol
Welcome back! Haha
Well if you haven't hit 5 referrals yet, you just got two more 😄
Thanks!
Playing remnant 2 on ps5 if anyone else does
I have it on pc as well. Looking for an outward partner if anyone else wants to start fresh
i like the game and i don't have any issue with an grind at all .. My issue is Shop i'm aware this is the world we are living but i'm old time school player that used to Work for reward as much as would take me
thats just another issue. the prices for a single skin during beta are insane.... 10-20 bucks for a single skin.
again i dont mind for people that wanna go ahead
i know right and for example you are gonna buy it now for 10-20 bucks and latter on is gonna be 5 or even free that why i have tendecy a bit wait xD
but as game is really good made maybe i'm too obses with Valheim building? like with freedom how you wanna build ^^ but that can be just in my head
Speaking for Valheim i 'm still waiting for updates .. Recently updates we're only for Public test :S
Im tired of games locking all the fancy cosmetics behind a paywall
Im here to play the damn game
paying is not playing
but yet everyone hated the monthly sub games. When they went away pay to win and cash shops took over
it is a busness after all they will find a way to make money or why make the game. the 45$ or whatever the initial cost is is not enough to maintain a game long term and gamers seem to think they should get 1000 hours of enjoyment for the 20$ game but yet people spend 50 or more for a 2 hour movie. I dont understand it.
of course people hate monthly sub games, might as well spend that money on a single player game that has basically no microtransactions
it cant even be said that devs arent making money without all the pay to win and cash shop bs
baldors gate 3 has proven that
the difference is in hosted games versus non-hosted. A hosted game HAS TO HAVE some type of income method in order to pay for the monthly/annual costs associated with hosting whereas a stand-a-lone game (ie. BG3) doesn't require that and a one time fee is perfectly fine for it.
I think the reason Baldors Bate 3 might be a success story, is because of it's immense player base, who buy the game once, play it for a couple of months and will probably move on.
Let's take it as an example. If this one time cash influx (people will buy the game over the next couple of games, but probably never in the same quantities as at launch) is enough to balance out the checkbooks, great! If it isn't, then the devs (well dev's don't always make decisions on what's done, especially in big companies, but let's keep a positive outlook on life haha) can start juggling the aspects of:
- are they going to start development of DLC, which will take an immense amount of time and monetary resources to develop, aka put them in the red again. The gamble might be worth it, if after another year (for example) of development there is enough of a playerbase still active which is theoretically willing to buy something 30€ (assuming it's a larger DLC), and also hoping that some of the older player base which dropped off comes back. It's a gamble, that doesn't always return favourable because new DLC updates can have massive impacts on reviews and expectations, impacting future sales a lot
- or are they going to introduce small cosmetic microtransations which might upset some of the player base, impacting sales (like above), but have a lot less (normally speaking) development costs.
- or a multitude of other options, like merch, writing books/comics, etc... all of them also having some risk to them
For a lot of managers at studios, I think they make the calculations of risk quite quickly and to them, hurting a percentage of their playerbase, by introducing cosmetic microtransactions in comparison to very large margins on return on investments.
I'm definitly not agreeing to that kind of reasoning, but from a business perspective, a business which wants to pay their employees, I can understand it. I think if the game making world would have been entirly lead by devs and artists, the story would be quite different, but maybe in turn a lot of game studios wouldn't even exist for longer than a single game before going bankrupt
depends on what kind of game it is I think. Minecraft Java edition (not looking at Bedrock for a moment, because that has grown into a different model), is also a stand alone game which has been on the market for a long long time, but is still getting active updates which take up a long development cycle. Sure, they don't need to spend as much on marketing with their millions of people playing the game, but still development of the updates takes a long time. A lot of players has only bought the game once, and are now enjoying the updates free of charge. Community servers are also not owned or licenced by them, so they don't get any stable influx of cash from them, only Minecraft Realms and I thought to have read only a very small portion of players buy this for java edition (I could be wrong here, I simply don't know anymore).
This is the reason why microsoft, the owner of the studio, is pivoting so hard on the Bedrock edition for younger players, is because it can give them a stable influx of cash, mainly through the (community) market. It has a lot of cosmetics in them sure, but also a ton of feature packed DLC.
I truly wonder what the internal politics at Mojang are, because I'd assume that the Java Edition, although having a very warm place in the heart of the community, isn't really that good of a game for the company's health I'd assume.
(again, I've only been looking at the game, not the merch and other stuff around the IP. I have to assume that a lot of minecraft's java edition's contribution to Mojang's cash influx is also through merch and the older community that buys them)
hate monthly sub games? I subbed to WoW religiously for a decade. I got nothing against a sub that's worth it.
As I hope happens with this game and has with many others, we will cheerfully pay money for a good, finished game. ESPECIALLY if it has replay value.
Then "Hello Games" should be broke already by that logic.... but they aren't, even they run a huge database, onlineplay by providing servers and yet are able to spit out new content and fixes for severall years already (release 2016, no cashshop, no monthly fee, no dlcs to pay, etc) and are still very much profitable.
Ahh, yes... the developers of No Game, Lie.
no mans sky is actually doing pretty good these days
Hosted games HAS to have income coming from somewhere, its just plain and simple economics, so if this "rare" company is making due with a billionaire producer who doesn't mind giving his fortune away or a ton of donations coming from outside sources, then the game has to be making money coming from merchandise or other means. If it is simply living off of its initial income of sales, then that money will run out and if a good influx of new purchases to the game are not coming in, the servers WILL go down. I don't know why some people are having such a problem understanding very simple economics. Nothing is free. Everything has a cost which has to be paid in one form or another.
I'd like to introduce you to Ark, a game that has just a few one time purchase dlcs and has been running strong since 2016
the point we are trying to make, is that the idea of a game needing gacha or to be flooded with cash shop to be profittable is absolutely nuts
Ark has several purchases still being made, and dlcs (maps) that are purchased.
one time purchases that arent really even all that expensive
the case being made, is that the company literally has to have a revenue line.
considering ark goes on sale as much as my sister changes clothes
in some cases, the cost is coming from another platform or game that the company has developed in order to keep a well loved game "marketing" up
anyway, that was all i was trying to say, further debate is just arguing for the sake of arguing
but in the end, that game will be ditched if it starts to cost too much
One more thing in regards to Ark, it is mostly user hosted, which means the cost of hosting is broken down to users, its not like a MMO such as WoW. User Hosted games can pretty much run indefinitely as long as it has a user base willing to take the cost of hosting it themselves.
I think this is also why we are seeing so many user hosted games being made now. It gives the game a lower cost entry point, and allows it to grow or shrink according to its user base without the producing company's involvement.
pretty based takes here

Well they have a growing player base (as far as I was aware) because of the updates and qol improvements they have implemented. Their "all dlc is free" policy is bringing in new players still, so a cash inflow because of it
Good. I would love to have a game as filled with content like fallout 3 or skyrim in the new age of gaming again. Let the managers know that good games are a great benefit to their company
Sorry, been busy... I should have followed with a "/s"
The game has definitely improved massively since release.
totally agreed. Its refreshing to have a company willing to put in all that effort to enhance most the "thrown-together" stuff triple AAAs have been unleashing. Now Hollywood needs to do the same as well and stop all the trash they've been trying to force on us as well.
I've started playing, using your code.
I'm currently struggling to see any lasting appeal, subjectively.. but it seems well-made so far.
Thanks! Yeah, it's a ... how do they put it.. a cozy mmo. It's a kin to like an idle game almost... You can have it up while you do other things and completely forget about it and nothing bad happens.
I just started out, so I can hunt with a bow.. but I haven't gotten into fishing or proper building yet.
For me, it fits the category of mindless gaming when I dont' feel like concentrating too much. Cute as hell though.
Yeah I think it's just premades from what I Can tell thus far. I am not sure if the later game adds the ability to do structured building.
I hope so, because the prebuilt thing might struggle for wider appeal.
only prebuild building and it takes 8 hours to complete. you can add new rooms to it, but still each one takes a huge amount of grind and everytime 8h to complete after spending severall hours first to convert ressources (everything is locked behind timers)
Fair enough
That's why I call it an idle game
I'm just looking at the construction stuff now.
I think the audience they are largely looking for is the Animal Crossing/Stardew Valley crowd. I don't think survivalists are it's primary market.
If you liked either of those games, you'll really enjoy Palia.
Never played either.
Ohh! There we go.. Just obtained the house blueprint.
Ok... so, I need gold, but I can't sell any of the materials for cash..
Dump everything you've collected that has a coin value in the shipping bin at the front of your house. This is how you gain gold.
I just got that hint. lol
lol
I missed it before.
You guys talking about Palia?
Yeah
