THANK THE DEVS! They added shroud into the corner of my base to the left but then removed it today. I like the idea of the shroud creeping onto higher land but to have the one spot happen to be in my base was so dreadful. Especially on a long build like this.

the first one took me roughly 45 min to solo i think, my sword broke halfway through and there were no anvils to fix it so i had to use my bow, which really slowed me down

That is the very original Rough Stone Block that is one of the very first you get. Not to be confused with Roughly Cut Stone Block, Regular Stone Block, etc.... Nor with the terrain materials like Stone, Limestone, Flintstone, etc.

Yeah I feel that, many of my first ones contained nothing but level 23 armor which was pretty useless. That was my first legendary staff.. My very first one had the bow though so that accelerated my speed through the rest of them lol

yeah it really sucks :/ im heavily focused on melee so it sucks on relying on enemy patterns to win a fight. an addition to this suggestion i would make is the jump attack be less..... difficult to use. sucks to be stuck on somebodys shoulder for them to hit you 3 times just to not be able to actually make the attack anyway

Main reason I switched to ranger, jump attack just feels like the best melee build due to how much damage output it can do but can be a bit finicky at times

i actually started as ranged. focusing on bows since all ive ever focued on when i do get into RPG or RPG-like games is melee and i just wanted to switch it up, but it didnt feel right and did my "dummy with a hammer" as i call it lol

I have barely even touched merciless attack and havent gotten around to figure out how to do it but thats partially on me.
but just having my attacks consistently defeclted and having to relly on arry pary pary pary is so annoying

the jump attack is so much better for a group rather than a single enemy.... partially due to the initial snip, but still a waste of stamina on a single enemy, or even 2, id say minimum 3 to use it on unless you know its a 1 hit group

I'm sure there's much more effective melee builds if you wanna be a nerd and do your parry and constantly dodge roll, potentially even pairing blink with evasive attack and throwing in merciless attacks.. Just requires a lot more set up when I just freely float around dropping bombs on boys and do relatively similar damage without nearly as much of the headache or inconsistency with jump attack. Prepare for crafting a shit ton of explosive arrows though hahaha

It's definitely a waste on just one enemy stamina wise for jump attack but it still does hella damage, especially if you focus on backstab and try and get behind them in the jump. A lot of the times would one shot most mobs

Takes a bit to get use too, it works a lot better with blink because you've got a little more range to play with when doing the attack, but you essentially just dodge/blink away from the mob and attack back into their direction

Hey Vailorn, there's millions of ways to make it sexier. My first tip to you is to use reference. Pinterest is great for this. Find a build or design that catches your eye, learn from it, and be original (Get creative). Find pieces of designs that you like and mash them together into a seamless new design. This is a great method to creating high fantasy towers as well as a great way to stay away from PLAGARISM. Last thing any creative would want is to make a thing that's already been built thousands of times in real life. That's worth ZERO creative points. Hope this helps!

Most of the time I watch some shows.

BTW to answer the question I do it every time i ran out of "stones" build consist mostly of stones. I just dig endlessly lol.
every 3days or when im lazy... My current building phase is not that fast. I pay attention to the details.

depends 🙂 copper takes a long time to get this greenish-blueish color. 🙂 ships for example also had copper plates that with the time got older but there for example it stayed often in this color 🙂

Have you tried verifying your files yet? That helps a lot of the issues that have cropped up graphically since the update.

I have seen several people noting these things. I would send a bug report from the in-game menu and include the picture and a copy of your world save so that they can figure out what it is when they get back from their holiday weekend.

Anywhere that stone is, needs to be supported by a stone column beneath it. A large expansive room needs a supporting beam structure to secure the walls from caving in because of the large roof. This will also allow you to put chandeliers at a lower level by attaching them to beams at a cross section.

Little tricks like that make a build more believable to the eye. Its in our subconscious that if we see a large open area without supporting structure, we are wary of that. So to trick the brain, even though support is not needed, act like it is. Become a structural engineer ingame.

You can rotate the angle of the rake from flat to vertical. I got a pretty decent sloped path on one build by roughing in with the terrain build, and then raking with one click of rotation (22.5 degrees?) and working with small actions to build up my path. Undo if it looks janky after the action. Start at the place where you know what you want and work toward the new part.

Plant them in a single block of farm or fertilized farm soil to speed up the growth. If you just use a single block then after it grows medium sized it'll hide the block if you want to avoid having the farm soil and want the grass appearance on the ground.

Not necessarily, the original block it's planted into DOES make a difference for sure, but I'm not sure the surrounding blocks will make an additional difference or not. Would be worth testing to see.

So if you want growth speed up but still want a forest appearance without the farm soil appearance then try it.

Using these details would be tricky, as i think it all depends on the whole world grid, but I could be wrong. What you can do is decide where to start building, is to build this and see which one of them pops up and decide from there.

I myself prefer 3-5-7 cell builds, in which i mean a window or a door is the center for instance.

You can definitely add vines to the half timber block. Not sure which stone that is, so not sure if that is one of the three you can add vines to.

Make sure you get above the higher thing you are trying to stack the upper boxes on, so that the white dot showing your “cursor” can see the top surface. Then you should be able to place a chest there

The roughly cut stone can have vines, and originally this ruin was full of it, but it had vines on the interior walls as well, so I replaced the material to regular stone. Not sure what can do to add vines tho.

You can add it now by placing a single block of dirt/soil/farm soil/flower soil (whichever color looks best since the tiny square will stay with the ivy) on the wall. In random places that will spawn ivy. (Not on the south facing wall, that side never does)
So I do the ivy roulette with place block on wall, see if it pops, if not Y to undo, move over a square, place block…rinse and repeat (on the half timber that is…maybe not the stone if it isn’t citywall, roughly cut, or castle wall)

I love combining multiple 3D Assets into another, completely unique thing. Here's a secret Laboratory.

If you cleared it all so there isn’t dirt inside on the floor or around…then the vines shouldn’t reappear indoors. I have been restoring the ruins across the broken bridge from Willow Crush (citywall block) and have found if you have rubble or vines appearing where you don’t want it, you need to replace the blocks around it until it clears (N S E W and beneath).
And yes the little block will always be there and can “merge” with others if they are too close—you’ll have to play with it to see. But most times it is buried under the ivy and if you pick the right colored dirt/soil it will be barely noticeable.

Oh, one last note, I recommend doing it after you have completed the actual build because I’ve found if I remove a block or door or window or something near where I have ivy, sometimes the removal makes the nearby ivy poof too. Probably the Ivy gets “associated” with certain construction near it.

In the first screenshot you'll see that the last (most right) blocks fit with the door, while the left screenshot matches best with the left shot.
They didn't change their texture according to which blocks I used next to them.

hmm the lights look fine to me. yes the green ones look brighter but that seems to be because of the color. green is absorbed slower than the warm color. so it seems to be correct. the normal lights seem to be fine too. there are a few types of lights. ones only emit a little light and some others more. i see you used the very cheap wall lights out of wood. the bronze ones i feel emit more light. at least indoors i always felt that the bronze ones are an upgrade to the normal wooden torches. also you can use clipping techniques to hide lights in order to create an indirekt lighting. 🙂

These are the Desert Temple Blocks 🙂 if you stack the 1x1 Blocks they change into a round Pillar 🙂

So the right one is the desert temple one. The left one is the Palmwood Block but also a 1x1 stacked on top of each other 🙂

With the Palmwood blocks you can do like 2x2 columns too. then they are little wider. With the Desert Temple it doesnt have the roundness then anymore. It still is round on the edges but there are yellow stone Parts inbetween when 2 wide 🙂

hmm personally i like turning the scaling to 70%. With everything else on high game still looks gorgeous but not having it run at 75% default but 70% somehow it gives a massive performance boost i feel.

I put my 1st alter down where the center of the starting location is and I had 7 shroud guys wander into my house area, 2 even climbed through the window gaps, because I hadn't put windows up yet. After the 7th I just said screw it and used the build/unbuild to "dig" a trench around the edge of my building range and since then they just walk up to edge and stand there grumbling begging to get pulverized.
The window gaps weren't that big or low either.
