They added a ton more detail in the last update, including towns out of reach in the mountain biome etc. New "POI"-Looking stuff to the east of Cindervault too, you just can't get there yet. But it looks like content.

The parry is inconsistent, the amount of stun arrows you need to craft is insane, the twitching movement it sometimes does is annoying, the gliding controls are not helping either especially with the updrafts in and around the arena acting inconsistent. Generally, not a pleasant fight.

Being on a server probably doesnt help either since the performance you get from that can vary vastly

There are DOZENS of ways to make it a way cooler fight.

to be fair, I am pretty sure it's a "devs have significantly higher priorities"
but I do know that the devs are actually discussing the ||dragon fight|| too, but there's a ton of things to work on with this game, and they don't have much time

the ||dragon fight|| and the enjoyment/difficulty of it, depends almost entirely on the update you're on...

Make 6 towers around it, all with scaffolding, jumps, and stuff you have to get around and climb on the towers. When you get to the top of each... a large ballista that is a 2 minute charge timer. A fell guardian and a ton of mobs just spring up and start attacking you then. Make each tower the 1st phase.

At the 2nd phase make it land... then do just ground based attacks with occasionally flying where it is "trying" to get off the ground and make it gusts you have to dodge to not get knocked off.

3rd phase make it shed its wings and become a super fast run around boss with charge attacks or something you ahve to dodge and make it spawn tons of adds.

There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many ways to make it a cooler fight.

in the original "souls of the frozen frontier" update? it was a very difficult, but fair fight, and it warned you to craft stun arrows before you approached it
"Pact of the flame" same thing
"Thralls of Twilight" absolutely abysmal, what changed about the fight? nothing that I know of... but stun arrows became insanely expensive

they update parts of the game, like updraft, or recipes... and don't think about how it affects other parts of the game

but the most recent "forging the path" update? it changed how Aggro works... so the ||dragon can now just lose interest and fully heal itself while you're in the middle of dodging attacks or dealing with something else in the Arena||

Have you done the Youngling after this patch, at level, with appropriate gear for the level (mixed mess of crud)..? Because, between it resetting constantly, and there being absolutely no perimeter reprieve, it's f'ing infuriating. I made the mistake of starting a new run with new focusses right after this patch to see it in all it's changes and such...Up until this it was only mildly frustrating when everything up and resets. Now it means flawless execution or failure. It's nothing compared to any other boss. You could have 3 or 4 of any other boss at the same time and have that be a considerably reasonable/manageable fight with all the difficulty being appropriate. This thing is a freakin hard stop at this progress juncture.
I'm not a power player, but also no noob to any of these games. There is absolutely zero margin for error, now.

I'm glad it feels that way! Yeah, Cub and I think that community connection is very important and has a lot of value. It's a tough balancing act because all the devs are incredibly busy, and to be honest interacting with the community is a very... inefficient use of time lol. It can be very time consuming which is a problem when their time is so valuable. So we try to find ways to maximize their time by involving them with AMAs or dev vlogs when they have the spare time to give us.

Yeah we dealt with a lot of aggressive cats, but there's ways to deal with them. Namely, giving the owner sedatives before the appointment is a big help. Outright banning the client before trying that is bizarre.

I don't think we ever had to ban a single cat and we dealt with very aggressive ones
