Anyone do helping hands recently. I'm doing it later on. I had a couple of odd things go on. One I got a quest from a woman, hannah reed but I hadn't even unlocked her. And helping hands, I went to the first location read some lore and it directed me to the next location. There was a chest but no lore to read. I watched some vids and they all show a red lit scroll right at the front door that triggers the next stage. Only there's no scroll there for me. The vids are all about a year old. All three of those things are concepts on our radar that members of the team would like, but none of them will be coming for the 1.0 launch of the game later this year. They might come after that as an update post-launch (mod support especially), but as for when, I don't have a timeline yet.

But yeah, we definitely want mod support at some point it is just a big undertaking. PVP is something we know that many players want, but we're not sure how to fit it into a game like Enshrouded in a way that would actually be fun and not just shoehorned into the game, and more playable races is also something we're thinking about long-term, maybe for a future expansion to the universe or something, but that would be pretty far in the future.

Yeah I'm always a sucker for non-human playable races in the games I play as well, and I'm not the only one on the team. Currently, though, it doesn't entirely fit with the Enshrouded lore, we'd probably need a big expansion to the universe to go along with something like that (or to change the lore in some way).

But I know I've been a part of several discussions internally where they tossed that idea around

Terraria PVP would probably be the best option.
how parrying works would need to be tweaked for it to ever work against players though. but if we had to actively "opt in" to a team to start PVP, then griefing would be less of a problem.
also I suggest making a "joining world warning" page.
for instance "This world has inventory set to lose all" when you join. (also add true hardcore drop everything including armor?)
and "This world has PVP enabled by default, and can't be turned off"

PVP combat and PVE/PVM combat should basically be exactly the same.

Yeah we've done a few pvp experiments internally where we basically just enable friendly fire and see what happens. It works... decently? But it would still require quite a lot of work to get it to a functional state where it's actually good, and at that point we would want to do more with the feature than just make it a toggle in order to make it worth the dev time

I honestly think "a rough but fun system" would be fine for PVP stuff. "Teams" is just a good idea so that you can have 3v3 fights where blue team can now use lock on against red team. or opt into a full on free for all "No team but PVP is on" situation.

I myself actually don't intend to ever turn PVP on, I just know that the option of PVP in games like Terraria and especially Valheim made people enjoy the game more. and the lack of option for PVP in games like sea of thieves completely ruined the game for some players until they added "Safer seas"

When I ran servers on Conan Exiles, the server had PVP with specific rules around it to focus on making PVP more fair and less "blow everything up!"

You should see how Harvest Homestead looks to you, it’s near the shroud but not in it. I have just started fixing it up, there’s tons of farm land and the house there is large enough for a few NPCs and there’s a barn type building for animals. I plan to eventually take on Woodgard as well but the castle is intimidating!

We know some of the starting questions sound absolutely insane lol, they're there as baseline questions to ensure that the person taking the survey is giving real answers. It's common in extensive surveys like this.
