The loot "fix" is going to take a long time. They removed the respawn exploit that was never intended and was a consequence of the respawn system. They added craftable lore weapons to help alleviate the fact that you can't farm weapons anymore and are rebalancing the stats on weapons to be better and more in line with their intended purpose. There was never going to be one big quick fix, but they're taking steps in the right direction.

While I am totally open to criticism about the game, I must say it's really odd that you already have so many opinions on a feature we haven't even given actual technical details on yet, and have already decided you hate the update without even having a chance to play it.

You're making a lot of assumptions about how things will work when we've only given an extremely basic overview of the feature in a dev blog. I'm not sure why you have such strong opinions on it already.

If all your frustrations stem from the fact that we're removing the chest re-rolling gimmick, I must ask, wouldn't you rather we just had a better loot system where you didn't have to do that? It's not exactly a very fun way to grind for loot. That's why we are removing it, and replacing it with systems that are better and more fun. It's not because we're trying to... punish you, or whatever it is that has you so upset.

I restart for new major adjustments, because playing on an old world set up for old systems, old resource locations and such is stifling. Starting over when there are major additions allows you to organically integrate those new changes into your world rather than trying to retrofit them into your old world.

Named altars is good for specific materials that are tricky to find, like tin.

But mostly we use the altar at our entry into a Biome until we get the tower.

Oh I'm talking maintenance. Transom is rotted? Well now your boat is junk. I worked on them for a bit and so many people came in during tax season with a boat that looked fine and but it had a blown motor or cracked hull etc. rot in it or other stuff. Also people not winterizing their engines, especially after that massive freeze down here in 2021. Brought it in for a PM, go to start it and it's got water pouring out the block.

Yeah people not caring for their boats or engines during off season is what ruins it.
Not having a proper engine mount to take pressure off the transom is a huge issue a lot of times too. Thankfully we’ve taken good care of our boat and have it covered properly. We only have a 50 on the back but it’s supported nicely and before that we had stripped all the old plywood and replaced it and then refiberglassed it ourselves. It was a project but it was worth it
