Graphics drivers updates can be very finnicky and unstable at times, one update for my series bricked the PC and made it loop BSOD for example. When a GPU update has failed, and you've tried a few times it would be time to boot in safe mode and try DDU (If you mean it's not showing up in the device manager)

An improperly installed device may show up under Other devices > Unknown device

You'd know this because you either plug in your display/HDMI cable directly into the back of the machine (on the motherboard connection), or you have to plug it into the card itself

I would tend to agree, the Nvidia control panel is not a standalone program you can install normally. Geforce experience/ drivers usually install it, if you ever have installed those before perhaps

Once you get it all updated, make sure in your Nvidia control panel you specify Enshrouded (and maybe even your default) to use your dedicated card for better performance, if you have it of course.

The building sucks, they claim not to force PVP but a LOT of quests make you go to the PVP wrecks, there was a 3rd one but I forget it now

I recall hearing/reading something a while back about a plan to make quest items that were added to a base location (in a dev edit/update after someone had put the altar down and built a base) spawn in a chest or something in the base. So that you could still complete the quests that were added. I am unsure if this was a suggestion or a dev plan to make happen.

Anyone know if this has been implemented?

I have the Lunar Sword quest that I cannot progress/complete because they added the scroll to read into the ruined castle on the other side of the gorge from Willow Crush--which I renovated ages ago. And I'd love to be able to finish it. Doesn't transfer from another world if I complete it there.

Its nice to be back on my brand new gamer PC, I bought like a month ago for 1700 €.
Like 4 months I quit this game, because I had build so much, everywhere, on my 1500 hour save, that my 14 year old gamer PC couldn't play above 15 fps. 😄
Over the last month as I finish build my new PC, it has been such a joy to play any games at ultra quality.

Not as much as you would think. Changing the outside would mean the building facade, which is pretty complex on it's own... AND redoing the parking lot. 🤣 I think the best/easiest course of action of redoing the inside and extending the left side of the building out the 5 blocks I'll need... but it's SO much work 🤣

In my experience it doesn't impact performance that much so I'd personally say it's only preference - I find it sometimes that the sharpen setting can make the edges look a bit weird

Eh some people like having higher fps (myself included), so it's fair to have a preference.

There have been lots of optimization improvements with each update, but also changes to things like shaders. So how the game will run will depend entirely on your individual hardware. Best way to know if it's better is to just boot it up and check for yourself

How come a legendary lvl 20 bow do less damage than a blue lvl 18 bow? Doesn't make sense to me

The lvl 18 is probably a longbow whilst the 20 is a shortbow.

Yeah look at the fire rate. Generally short bows shoot at 0.6s while long are 1.0, making them almost double the fire rate. Longbows are better for single shots, so you can get a bigger number for the sneak/headshot/backstab multipliers, while short are good for sustained DPS, like fighting a boss from range

Ae I understand it bow damage is bow + arrow x Multipliers (crit, BS, Head, sneak etc). So even small damage increases from bows or arrows makes a significant difference

#

That's why you always want to craft the best arrows you can, because even though it might only be a difference of two damage on paper, it winds up being more once you multiply it

For now, I've found that they all close by moving in and out any item that it's at the top right corner. Move to backpack, but it back in that spot, and the chest closes.
If the chest is empty, then move an item to the same spot, move it to backpack, move it there again, and the chest closes (so not really "empty" anymore, but at least is visually better 😄 )

It's not that we hate the concept of mounts, it's more that implementing them in a way that's meaningful would be quite the challenge. If we just implemented something like the Skyrim horse for example, like... why would you ever use it? With the current mobility tools already at your disposal, trying to manage bringing a horse around with you would likely just slow you down.

In a sense. Honey is in trees around Springlands in hives, but its always in the same locations so if you make a note you can figure out a farming route. You'll want to use it for large combat encounters/bosses, and also early resource farming. Plus having the locations marked will help a lot later because along with using it as a good stamina food you also use it as an ingredient for early health potions

Yeah usually the whole games competing with each other thing is something that players make up lol. Members of our team have spoken with members of the teams for games like Valheim and Palworld and I can't say there's any bad blood between us. Usually when one game does well in a niche genre like this it only helps boost the exposure for other games when players are looking for another survival game to play.

Only time the competition really matters is around big releases I guess, but that's why we usually time our updates to not line up with each other.

I still play Valheim. One of the people I used to play with would die and do a corpse run immediately. Then just die again and lose another set of gear. Then be angrier and do it again, thinking they could somehow "brute force" win. Their entire strategy was literally just to be mad, instead of setting up small bases along the way, planning the route, maybe getting a squad together, etc. They don't play anymore.

One of my favorite moments was when we first made it to the plains and the whole squad wiped from a Fuling patrol. We sailed back, with everyone in their backup equipment except for me. My job was to run around in circles naked for as long as possible while they got their original gear and my gear, then sail away and leave me to finally die.

Like, in Enshrouded you can run face first into a dungeon and as long as you have healing and food and rested up, probably get out ok unless you wander into some red shroud. In Valheim you can easily die in dungeons at your level or even below if you lose track of your surroundings

I mean, still.
I get that they don't want to have it enforced upon people, but that's what options are there for. Make it default "off".
I, for myself, don't bother about the "enemys at the gate" system. It'd just be a way for me to make the world feel more alive, dangerous and "unwelcoming". In that department, I feel, Enshrouded is still to easy on us. Having our altars being fortresses that no one can cross over to / besiege feels just wrong.
