I'm with you on that. I'm in the UK and have a very humid climate, very much influenced by the gulf stream. So our summers can be very, very humid I personally hate that. I prefer the weather in the early to mid spring and mid autumn, when it's still nice, and cool, but pleasant enough to be out and about, but not oppressively hot and humid as we've been getting over the last few years.

nothing realy changes. if you go help the newby you steamroll. if they go with you they have to be very carefull. no adjusting

missed quests you did and they didnt can be restarted by them in the "missed quests" tab in the quest menu.
shroud roots will be doable again, givin them skillpoints but not for you. every root done once by you is safed as done on that charakter and only counts per charakter.

For example, killing a goat shows meat and fur in the preview, but when you hit E on it to inspect it, you only see the fur? A friend and myself confirmed this on multiple lootable creatures.

For anyone asking, past, present and future - it is very rare for Keen to give a release date more than a couple of days in advance. The only time in my recollection that they have done so with enshrouded in over a year, was the planned update for their anneversary - which was a special case.

Chances are we will not know about the update's release date until less than a week before the date, and if history is anything to go off of, more likely a couple days to a day before.

One of the reasons for this is that when it's ready, they release it, if it's not, they continue on. They are pretty much programming up until the moment of it's release (and after for the inevitable hotfixes) This means that the releases are less buggy and also less pressure is put on the team itself.

It's the price we pay for quality. 😄

I am guesing here, but from what I do understand, it's likely an issue with calls being made on potentially hundreds of magic chests - especially on servers, from my understanding of how things work under the hood, it could block up a lot of resources and memory

Shroud roots, like everything else in the game outside of altars, reset after 30 minutes of being unloaded or on server/game restart

Plants used to be double loot but they considered it an exploit because you could plant 10 seeds then pick them back up right away and have 20 seeds. Which means you no longer need to use the seed beds.

if I recall, there's a greater than zero chance they will build the mod tools to help modders but it's VERY much an AFTER 1.0 thing.
so I wouldnt expect it before later 2026 or early 2027.

Late to the party, but Pathing can be one of the most complicated things to do in games, especially games where terrain and obstacles are not only dynamic, but can literally be changed at any given moment, even while they are calculating their paths - and they have to program for this, all while not melting your CPU, and all completely from scratch instead of on a pre-made engine with many of those algorhythms already programmed in to a point.

Rest assured in knowing that they are working on the issues, (and have been since they were released) and have made progress in it, however it's very likely going to be a "two steps forward - one step back" kind of situation as they continue to try and improve it to the point where it feels natural, and can work well everywhere, all while trying to optimize it as well.

All of this to say - I wouldn't expect too much of an improvement with a large update such as the one we are likely getting, as these updates are usually more about content, world generation, and other big ticket/big bang items - but I wouldn't be surprised to see minor changes.

Given that it will be changing many of the pre-established locations, especially the shroud, do you think it'd be ideal to play on a new world? And does anyone think it'd be okay to start that new world now and prepare a player base but not progress any of the quests? Or should we wait until it's out?

You can play most updates without major issues. You may end up with some oddities on the landscape and the last update had some issues with item spawns in areas where people had rebuilt towns... but they're aware of that now so there's a chance they put something in to work around it going forward.

That being said... I personally prefer to play fresh, because sometimes changes happen in the middle of the progression that you won't really see - at least not organically - if you're not playing from the start,

I usually do the same, but it's definitely not required. A lot of people have the same characters and worlds they've had since launch day

Also while some areas and points of interest can change, making it not advisable to build your main base in your main save in a town or village, the starting area should remain the same for the foreseeable future, meaning as long as you build your main base there (or in the sky) you shouldn't have any update issues

No real reason to make a whole new base with fast travel and nothing like raids to worry about.

Current base is cut into a cliff in springlands with some grassland outside for a small farm and plan to make a barn for animals. Although Albaneve is tempting to move to, could have a better view from my front door.

For the record, teasers can come out over a month before the actual update, however the teaser actually came out 28 days ago, so technically not more than a month. It did state that the update would be in may, and we are only 8 days into the month. Have patience, I am sure it'll be worth it. 😄

How do people usually manage storage in their base?

I guess another option is to think how many items am I likely to need to pull out of storage. Equipment, consumables, building materials? Everything else presumably can be dumped in now that you can add from magic boxes to crafting machines

So store the very few things I need to be able to find again in a few chests. Then everything else mass dump in a storage pile

Basically you only need to actually access chests for consumables/wearables. Maybe building materials but you only need one of each type you're using, the rest can be in storage

Yeah, when I made this base you needed to grab stuff to put in things like furnaces but since then you can do it from magic chests directly

Well I want to build a new base anyway so might just build a bunch of magic chests now before I start building, then I can move my stuff easily into a pile of chests

I like to use non magic chests specifically for avoiding items getting used automatically and for items that can't be accessed from magic chests as you said like consumable, gear and weapons etc. Been awhile since I played but as I recall you still can't access building blocks from magic chests.

You can, technically. if you have 1 block of the type you want in your inventory it'll pull blocks out of the magic chests to use instead of that block

Oh yeah... I have... a lot. There have been several occasion in the past where there were issue with it killing my FPS. They have fixed them now, but something tells me searching for a specific item every time you place a block might get a bit rough

Best games I find are ones that are good solo and can be even better with coop, because I will often end up playing solo a lot but if the chance comes by I might play coop. Enshrouded for example. I can play on my own and then take my character to a friends map instead
