He isn't entirely wrong. Dragon is a step up in difficulty and I encountered moreso alotta (I feel) unintended behaviours and bugs. Mind that the game was up to this point relatively easy for all kinds of gamers, may it be of age or with restrictions. Before the Dragon you can/could play with whatever spec you wanted, now he is here to force you almost to min/max.
We had no encounter requiring this until now.
Also there are people that don't want to max numbers out just for the sake of it or put more thought into a skill system.
Some do not deem that their kind of fun.

Personally I would have rather seen a more gradual curve in that difficulty. The spike honestly feels like it comes out of nowhere compared to what you do before that and it feels kind of out of place and tacked on, like it was a direct response to all the "game 2 e z" comments

Yeah, the cyclops was fun but definitely felt a bit too easy, especially compared to the dragon. I'd like to see that one be a little more punishing for example, especially since it has some unique and fun mechanics

And just in general. I don't necessarily think you need to bring the dragon down in terms of difficulty, just boost a few of the earlier encounters and maybe add a few in the later game so the player feels more prepared for what's about to come

The way it is now the dragon just feels like this arbitrary wall they put in without thinking about how the rest of the game flows up to that point

And I say it that way because it's literally a barrier if you want to build in the mountains

Which kind of presents another design issue, is the person who wants to build in different locations the same person who wants a punishing, dragged out boss fight to reach that point? I mean sure, difficulty sliders and all that, but I'm not sure how I feel about locking frost protection to the dragon fight given how diverse the player base is for the game

Like, in terms of what people want to get out of the experience etc

Tbh they should reduce his damage by 20-50% and the dragon would feel much better

Or make him more vulnerable while stunned, or reduce the amount/frequency of the adds to match how many players are in the area. The adds especially made the fight feel annoying solo

I'm sure with a couple other people it's not bad, but solo having to evade the dragon while dealing with 8 drakes just felt more hair-pulling than challenging

Maybe even just have it so the dragon stops attacking until the adds are gone

Yeah. Or like I say, make him more vulnerable while stunned. That felt a little cheap too, that his stun is so short and you really don't do significantly more damage while he's down. Like if (on default) you could take out like 1/6th or 1/5th of his bar before he gets back up, that would feel a lot better

As is stunning almost feels more like a liability because you don't get that much out of it and it's going to spawn more adds

That kind of brings me to another point, it feels poorly tuned for certain playstyles. I beat him solo with bow/daggers, and after watching a couple videos of other people doing it with other weapons, I feel like I took the hard way there. Let alone if you're primarily bow or primarily 1h/shield

It's the first boss I can think of where it feels like there's a "wrong way" to approach it

Like sure, you can do it with any weapon/combination of weapons if you're persistent, but some ways seem drastically more effective

I'm just hoping for more robust melee options. For instance, I'd like more 2h weapons and for them to feel distinct, not just "this hammer is a hammer, this hammer has a mace head on it, and this hammer has an axe head", and I'd like to see more contextual attacks for 1h like daggers have, rather than "swing swing and swing again"

Granted the daggers only have 1 different attack, the dual handed heavy swing, but it's just enough to make them feel more dynamic than the 1h and 2h options do

Like 2h have one, but it's literally no different other than you swing vertically rather than horizontally

They're fine as long as you make heavy use of parry, heavy attack, and jump attack

They're at least as good as 1h/shield, it's just instead of blocking you're parrying and making use of stuns

They aren't the top tier DPS in the game but I think a lot of the downplaying is overblown xD

I like the look and animation of the daggers, but their damage output sucks.
They're more of a "hit the close ones then run away to use bow" weapon

The dual handed heavy attack does a cleave which adds a small AOE which other weapons don't have, deals significant damage, plus they have the most forgiving parry window of the weapons meaning if you build for it, you're constantly stunning enemies and punishing them. Daggers are the most fun and dynamic weapon we have and I'd argue outclass 1h in terms of raw output when played well xD

You aren't blocking and waiting for enemy attack animations because you're constantly interrupting them with parries xD

I only recently after over 600 hours finally started trying out a wizard build and, not bad.

I used to keep a wand to deal with the stupid bird dragons and wraiths but the grapplehook skills are an absolute game changer.

Eh, like I mentioned earlier if you've played with one 2h weapon, you've kind of played with all of them, the only real difference is the damage type you're dealing. I'd love to see more dynamics with the different weapon types of the same class

Also yeah, we need a better form of stamina management than "makes regen faster", because even on an endurance focused build like daggers or 1h, stamina while gathering is a constant thing. Foods help but there really should be a late game stamina potion, even if it comes with a cooldown so you can't cheese it

I still do stuff like farming and livestock cause it's a lot more passive, though I do hope they eventually speed up the planting and harvesting process, like a lot of people have asked for.

Yea, I kind of like that part. I am working with a video producer to get a you-tube shot of my town build, not because its all that, but because I have no idea of how to make a good video. It's a max build area town built in a Survival mode server. I did tweak the mining damage settings a tiny bit from survival settings, but other than that I have mined and crafted 100% of the blocks.

Seen some faux modding done already with the server exe to load custom scripts, I've been able to change the color of items and go into single/multiplayer with differently colored clothing and hats. Also, AI Tools ain't the best to learn anything related to coding, nor in some cases the internet is.
I know my borders and that's one. And yes, I admit I could totally learn anything and from what I grasped, I've got some talents. But I choose not to for example paint. But in that particular topic we were about mods and honestly, less clue about that than actual art. Did some maps back then when Warcraft 3 was a thing and scripted my own boss fights etc., in the end neither had I the people interested in that nor that I've got alot out of that myself. my rx580 + xeon e5 2667 v2 build was able to run it fine on low, but getting a taste of mid to high settings where u have relatively good frames spoils everything else afterwards as the game is very pretty.

normally i dont care for literally any other games for visuals i bought a 240hz 1080p monitor just to play fps games and crank all the settings down lmao, but with enshrouded i don't think i would play on low settings again.

The only real issue with the placement I have has is that Q sometimes does up and down and sometimes back and forth depending on angle. If there is a way to toggle it I haven't found it, and it can be annoying. Probably does need a toggle

Let some stuff breathe. People in medieval times were not tidy yea but also not overly crowded.
I think the props placing Team has already a good middleground of that.

Another thing is to place columns / plan with them in mind.
For example, a house with columns in it's borders does look way more natural for a house than a flat 3d block

If you have nvidia gpu, you can force dlss4 with nvidia app. Unless it's a placebo and I'm crazy, the foliage looks way sharper when you override to dlss4. Enshrouded looks amazing, my only gripe; the morning colors seem a bit washed out. (OLED + Auto HDR)

Yea, I'm playing the game on balanced which is performance dlss. PC: 9800x3d+4090, 240hz 1440p oled, average fps around 180, very good frametimes and low 1%.

Yea, I just used nvidia app and went to dlss model preset overrride. I had sworn off that app when it was named "geforce experience" but now that they have reinvented it and given it some purpose with "nvidia app", I happily use it. I still do everything I can from control panel though :P.
