I would say this is probably normal for mostly any game. You finish its content, you beat the game. Lots of people enjoy building tho and that seems to take most of people time in the current end game

I am guessing since the name of it is Blackmire, it will be a swampy area. Probably patches of red 'water' everywhere. Since mires/swaps are close to ocean level I would wager that it's mostly within the Shroud (save for the Spires and the giant Mother Tree from the teaser). I hypothesize it will be the new end-game area for now.

The problem for me is not the terrain, more like the battle system itself which hinders sometimes enjoyment of the Mistlands. But I grew to utilize their tools against them as in the swamp, which has my base become a unsiegeable fort for either Gjall or Seeker

About Server Wipes & Character Resets...

... On the topic of "wipes", we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However being early access and being that a LOT will change and be added to the game over time, we can't guarantee that there might not be a major update that requires old saves to break.

Also being that so much is changing, there is always the chance that an update might break old saves, so I recommend backing up saves you really care about if this would be something that is the end of the world for you as a player.

But yeah, we're not planning on intentionally doing this, but we also can't guarantee it will "never happen" either, since there's a lot of unknown variables in the future.

Either way I dislike PVP because human nature has a habit of being toxic as hell when it comes to competition. Not to mention if people can find a way to 'legitimately cheat', they will use it.
EG: Back when I dabbled in "Team Fortress Classic" someone found out how to use the sniper rifle underwater somehow. Even though you are not supposed to be able to since the requirement for using it is 'to be on the ground'. And naturally we couldn't find the guy etc.

When the update launches it's best to restart your dedicated servers. GPortal and the rest should get the update.

You wouldn't need to force it, you could have different modes and worlds, you've already noticed that the public's eagerness for new content is very high, PVP would help to calm these feelings, it would hold players back for a long time until there are new updates, one world instead of being PVE, it would be PVP+PVE, think carefully.
