hey guys, i need your advice. I have rented server via Gportal, like advertised ingame. I thought, that having an 24/7 online server would be a solution for my farm, but it seems like that the plants will not grow when there is no one online.. any ideas if that is a bug or intention?
If they are not supposed to grow, it does not make sense to have a rented server in my opinion, since most of people will wait for their friends to progress together anyways 🙂

I would think the only purpose of hosting a server is that if someone does want to play a little and the host is not available, they can. In my experience, I always have plants ready to harvest, maybe "endgame" plants are a little different and harder to get/take a lot longer, but it sounds like paying for a server literally just for plants is a huge waste of money.

Also, i love this game, so dont get me wrong. I already finished 100% progression after the release, playing solo (+ recently all the hollow halls). I now started a fresh save with fresh char to play with friends for another great experience. This one thing with planting is just something that bothers me 😦

I think the hosted server is most useful for a group of friends building stuff, so one can pop on and just work a bit on their home/town/project whenever they have a little free time

oh, thanks for your perspective. It was also about the workstations, which took rly long time to craft things and since we are in a age where time is issue for us, we didnt want to spend another like 2hrs just for for example bronze bars to smith, if you know what i mean.
And it looks like the workstations works properly even when we are offline.

ah, I can see crafting being a little annoying I suppose. Especially if you're a group just building stuff and waiting on material for decoration/etc

I just hit 25, still haven't reached endgame area, so all of it is basically a non-issue, set some stuff to be made, go adventure a little, and by the time I return it's all done

I've only done the first two so far, but I felt the ranger/fighter to be a good mix, basically the strat is always try to shoot as many off as possible until they're right in your face, roll backwards and be ready to slap some skellies

Just to clarify, currently the new daggers are weapon sets that are identical pairs of daggers. So while you dual wield them, you aren't able to mix and match each hand, or mix them with other weapon types like a sword for example.

We might expand dual wield mechanics more in the future, but yeah that's how it will work for now in the next major update.

Cause it's easier to fall to the ground with them or whatever it's called

Otherwise the jump attack with dual daggers wouldn't look very dagger like

I meant that it makes more sense for the daggers to be slammed into the ground while your holding them technically downwards towards the ground cause otherwise with the current way they're held, they'd be facing up away from the ground

Probably depends on what exactly you were referring to and what "a few months ago" means, our last major update was march 26th so it wouldn't have changed noticably since then.

If you're looking for it to be a technical fighting sim, i don't think it'll ever meet the criteria. The combat is 'basic' in its implementation, but can still be a challenge for a lot in some ways.

Yeah I gotcha, I wouldn't say it has changed significantly since you last played, no. I don't think melee is what we'd consider "final" right now, I'm sure eventually we'll make all sorts of changes to the playstyle, both polish and otherwise, but currently there's nothing on our public roadmap for that so I can't give you any kind of deadline for when that might be.

they changed how some rings work with mana regen few updates ago, there is a bow doing the wrong damage, another weapon listed as 1h handed damage is doing 2 handed damage so they will fix that - this all constitutes as 'polishing'

The only thing i dislike for melee at the moment is not having any kind of stagger mitigation, using a 2H in melee with a group of mobs is impossible unless you're using the jump attack.

yeah its a pretty minor gripe and i just dont know how to explain it better than getting that skyrim combat feeling in some situations, where it feels a bit like slapping a fella with a feather or pool noodle and seeing their health go down lol

For something as 'delicate' as the feel of combat in a game, i'd never rely on reviews though. From games markets, they are very much click bait and from community forums/chats, they are so biased on the individuals own likings that they'll never give you a true picture. Only real way is to give it a try for ones self.

It's intended to support different styles of gameplay.
This one guy digging until he has found a dwarven kingdom? Got covered with XP as long as he collects ore. That one fighter guy that visits every tavern for a brawl? Easily.
People who do enjoy questing? Also.
Only the people base building or farming may lack sometimes a bit of XP if friends charge out doing quests yet, but for that will be patrols or maybe invasions (sorta of I think) coming.
