looking at the skill trees, combat seems pretty surface level basic, and I didn't see anything in the roadmap about more in depth skills and such, does itemization change characters a lot or something?

Not everything fitted into the roadmap, otherwise people with bad eyes would've need stronger glasses.
Which means in clarity, it's something which makes up the very foundation of the game and will be updated almost every time a regular update will take place I think. The Skill tree won't final with just "+stat increases" in the finals y'know? Also some trees really lack in department of choices on their way to make your character flexibel, or you just have to take trash talents to get into the desired one.
But... Only thing that changes with itemization are the perks of weapons / their stats, or just boni like -xyz ms time on regen, mana regen, stamina regen from boots.

Melee may be a bit wonky, ranger is the best experience so far, mage just kabooms every mob lately.

The pattern for basically all armor sets right now is basically this.
Head/gloves: damage/weapon augmentations
Chest/legs: HP/MP/Stam and Regen
Boots: further Regen and reduced Regen delay
Just find a setup that's right for you and you're all set.

Combat seem very undecided right now, for players and enemies. Most enemies are easy, then there is the acid blade scavangers, that can take on 3 vukah, 2 sabretooth tigers and not even break a sweat.

don't know how to full describe it, but combat just seems more like a chore than the "super fun" activity to do within a game.

I mean the acid cleaver guys are ready to deal with if you've got double jump and updraft. Get somewhere they can't and rain arrows and spells on them you'll never fear them when they can't reach you

And though it's not exactly ideal you can use the fact that they'll charge straight at you to your advantage

For a melee character, the acid blade scavengers, specially those at current max level, does insane damage. I personally don't like to cheese enemies, if i can avoid it.

I mean even a boss like Malenia, Blade of Miquella from Elden ring has her flaws. The acid blade guys just seem to strong. I like the quickness but not the amount of damage each swing does atm. I have never been able to parry them either. Not sure if parry is broken or they cant be parried or if there is something else going on. If this game had iframes, it would be fine. Roll -> Backstab, roll -> backstab but right now, rolling away they manage to hit you anyway.

Wel, the game has a parry mechanic, and what i play in most games like these.

Yeah indeed, as I said upscaling or a strong AA, like DLAA, it looks nice.

DLSS is considered to look a lot better than FSR2 as well but FSR2 can be run on any modern graphics card while DLSS is exclusive to Nvidia 2000-series or higher.

You have to roll, there is a timing thing that I've nailed down but keep a few health potions on you and use a wand and bow/staff to range her, makes it so much easier. Killed the dragon at level 12 using that strat... REALLY hard.

Indeed and they are laser focused once you agro one. As I wrote erlier, they ignore all other threats. Seems like lazy enemy AI.

Every enemy is easy if you just fight them correctly the acid blade guys never hit more than twice then block or get out of the way. Always start a fight blokcing first let them do their attack then hit 1-2 times then back to block/parry or jump out of the way.

You can literally go through every fight never getting hit

Its in the chests often random. There are some fixed spots for some stuff but the silver/golden chests have different things often. A lot of rng. Sometimes you may get a sword, other times an axe or wands and so on.

Any weapon. But let me find a very low one to check. I mostly find max level stuff where I am now.

Even in the regular game most of the highest level weapons are already at max base damage roll, so they don't increase with upgrades. But lower level weapons should. So if they aren't then that might be a change they made in the beta, which I wouldn't know because I haven't played it

In english steam, right click Enshrouded in the list and choose properties, go to the beta tab, and click on the pull down menu and choose Beta - Public preview branch. I think for the sake of simplicity, acid and poison deal the same damage. Poison damage.
The acid cleavers don't deal poison damage, at least from my understanding. They just higher the amount of poison damage dealt by arrows or the magic Acid Bite.

most of the buildings in my current village just need roofs and I'm happy with their size and location but a few of them are experiments where im not sure which direction to go in.

Coins are my running gag. I'll proceed to do it and bother people with it until I get either:
A. placeable coins ingame, B. A Treasure-y-like block that seems like spilled coins/shinys/gems and such, C. banned from this Discord.
Also, I made Harvest Homestead my new city. I just pickaxed the mountains away and will eventually start restoring the church in the update. Only negative I've found so far (I wasn't aware about the fact) is that I'm not able to disperse the Shroud or build within it, but I try to get inspired by these limitations.
In this very moment I'm building a big wall around my city, enemy patrols could be a thing next update and I don't want visitors.

at this point I dont think I can ever really go back to base building in FO76. I need like, twice what you get to fully achieve my ideas in that one.

i buitl a looong wall and barely saw any repeating patterns. nothing exact. you'd think at SOME point the pattern would repeat itself.

I really want to know how that pattern is designed and functions.

well I have a gaming pc and run games like RDR2 , Cyberpunk, Hogwarts legacy, Diablo 4, Baldur's Gate 3 all on Max graphics with no issues what's so ever. However my computer does run hot on with Enshrouded. So i can see where Rey is coming from. Don't get my wrong my computer is doing but the temps do go up more so than other games. No clue if any of you watch the temps of your pc's while gaming.

oh no i am to , I had all the softwares set up for me was given the run down. I do like to keep an eye on my computer whilst playing new games to see what it can handle . Enshrouded DEF run hot compared to everything else. I do this because my old pc was fried from a game LOL me and my friends used to Play the isle . All of our pc fried while playing it. All at different times but we all noticed it was weird that all of our pcs went out while playing the same game.

Here is some quick guidance on how the Altars & Flame levels work in Enshrouded.

To remove an already placed altar, walk up to it, press E and press the “Extinguish Flame” button at the bottom.

• A 30-second timer then begins to run. During this period you can reverse the action taken.
• After these 30 seconds the altar disappears.
• The world flame level remains.
• No materials will be refunded
• The altar level is lost

⚠️ structures and items created by the player within the flame radius remain until the corresponding area is either left for 30 minutes or the player logs out. Everything in the former flame radius is then extinguished.

Only poop part is games are my job, which is what makes it difficult, I'm a disabled marine and found myself being able to survive off youtube and twitch revenue for the past 4 years, and I have just kinda ran out of ideas. I also just started a hardcore diet and quit smoking aswell, so that takes a negative toll on me aswell. Just can't wait to get out of this rut. I love what I do, it can just sometimes be a extreme mental battle.

I find what helps me the most, is just conversation with like minded people, just chatting about anything and everything helps lift me up.

My health has been declining since I started to make content, mainly because the reason I started was because I had knee replacement surgery and it just kind of made since, but with that came hundreds of 12 hour days making youtube videos and coming up with content ideas, ordering food and groceries and just getting Hella lazy, now here I am, can barley breathe, almost 400lbs with a jacked up knee. Lol so I have to tackle my health and let my content fall because I can't seem to keep both up at the same time.
