Félix Henri Emmanuel Philippoteaux was a victorian artist, who painted many battles. I would use his paintings or sketches for the Franco-Prussian war since he lived in France in 1870-1871 (or French Revolution of 1848 since he was alive when it occured). I wouldn't rely on Victorian depictions of Knights only because they messed with historical terminologies and made many terms up without evidence to establish. They also overlooked manuscripts that use the "correct terms" such as a halberd in various French manuscripts (not a glaive). The victorians also oversaw lots of armours and studied them creating many "improper terms." There were also a lot of horrible reproductions of armour they made that gave a unhistorical sense of "unscholarly illustration" of Historical arms and armour.

(also dw, the italian cuirass we have is made between 1440 and 1445) and theres a few other early armours in the game.

It’s a hard choice tho because I wish it had 2’s elbows but 1’s sleeves… But imo for the “articulated” look, harnesses are good… I just wish we had more protective/covered harnesses… Maybe a higher tier harness as opposed to the pauldron and vambrace combo? The trade off would be better general protection (spaulders/pauldrons + vambraces) and flexibility/articulation (harnesses)?

I wonder what perfectly matches the cuisses… I love the little triangle shape thingies (are they called fluting?), but I have yet to find a pauldron + vambrace combo that matches it in terms of looks and such… Other than the #1 photo vambraces… But to me, it isn’t exactly it… + I don’t know why it’s cheaper than the other vambraces despite having fluting (or whatever the ridges are called), more body coverage, and being lighter…

So me, personally, I’d rather switch out the shoulder and vambraces for the harnesses (2 in 1 arm armor)

I like 🥹 personally, I js remove ALL the chainmail except for the standardt for minimal clipping… Problem is, the bloody elbow bug for arming doublets… (I hope mail voiders are added one day as a more lightweight and skin-tight alternative to the hauberk so we can get beautiful armor with less clipping PLUS the protection of mail in the few gaps of intricate armor 👍)

I don’t know much about history and stuff, but I wonder what Cuman or Tartar (steppe-like peoples? Apologies if this is offensive and stuff) warriors looked like by this time, and how different would they be compared to prime Genghis’ time. Like, would it still be relatively lighter armored like the rest of the East compared to climate and the nomadic lifestyle? Did Tartars farther in the west and who assimilated into Hungary incorporate more plate armor than in the East?

Even with the small little flaws over the demo (if optimization was improved, and JUST the floppy wrists were fixed, I think this game is mint for me… For me? The physics and handling of weapons mostly are good for now when they work like they’re supposed to… Sure, swords may feel like pool noodles at times, so I have to make it a bit more blade heavy and sacrifice the handling from bringing the balance away from the hilt… But when your guy actually remembers how to grip and hold his weapon? It’s good. When you aren’t hovering your offhand when holding a longsword without you realizing it? It’s good… When you aren’t holding a poleaxe like a baseball bat? It’s good! I just wish the switching was more responsive or consistent like in the demo… It doesn’t have to be THAT fast, slow is good for balance… But it’s just too weird sometimes haha), this game is peak. Been waiting a long time for exanima too, but it’s taking a while… But I love this game because of how precise you can be when lucky as opposed to relying on a healthbar for reassurance…

Which file did you edit to change equipment colors?

Open player character --> armor --> find your doublet/hosen or whatever (you can also search keyword to locate it easier), then you want to edit the fabric color 1 and 2, it works with rgb values, they work in the decimal, for example if you wanna put 255 use 0.255

You can also find your stuff through player inventory too, but it's easier if you equip it before exiting the game because you can find it instantly on your character in the files

It's also possible to change weapon wood and leather and also weapon metal, for wood it seems that the colors are restricted tho, i tried getting purple and it only turned out pink
