So it will give out quiver with 10 bolts every round as long as the old quivers got deleted. If they don't get deleted (script dies for some reason) then game dies due to garbage collector chugging on it
My guess is that crossbow actually "welds" a real bolt to the crossbow when it's loaded, and when it's time to shoot it releases it with a certain velocity
And considering that the bolt attached to the crossbow can pierce and cut enemies
so im trying to get halfsword enhancer installed and im not sure where to put the mod
it said to just drag it on to the exe but that doesnt make much sense to me
does it just want it in the same folder?

you can drag & drop the mod DLL onto the launcher so the launcher will use that version instead of downloading one

the models aren't extremely high poly.
I can kinda eye ball the topology if I'm really zoomed in, but for a ue5 game, this is surprisingly optimized.
of course, other models are higher poly than others, the willie models are a clear example, but smaller things that you wont look too deep into are optimized.
mainly the lag is from the foilage spam in the outside maps. 
which I hope they just straight up add a toggle to disable foilage so I can play the game smoothly.

if you are meaning code wise, I cannot help, but in game I've figured out how to reload it, you have to press r, then grab the string and pull it up and down twice, that should get the string cocked, then you simply drag a bolt from the quiver

I also found out using the ue4ss changing your character stats then disabling ue4ss keeps the stats so you can use halfsword enhancer with buffed stats
My character is 167kg
I also find If putting weight to 1.5 offers a better experience without making your character hulk
1.3 is good to
1.5 makes you 115 kg

No, I keep it 1.0. However you can make yourself a little taller I'd recommend 1.2 - 1.5
1.5 is more like the champions height

That just makes it so you can lift heavier things. Doesn't change the looks of your character
Once you downloaded those two files you can just put them in your half sword directory where the main exe is located.

there are 2 versions of the mod on github:
- stable release (the one that's also published on nexusmods)
- development builds (experimental). published as a pre-release, based on the dev branch
on a github release, there is an assets section to download the files attached to it.
if you want to see all the releases (and pre-releases), you have to click the releases button on the right side, not the one that says which is the latest version (just below it)
changing the current branch only changes what version of the mod you want to see the source code

You don't have to put them there I just do because it makes it easier
Then drag the dll file on top of exe and it should run and work

does anyone know a fix for the enhancer to make the spawn items work? it seems like all items and armor are linked to the demo and arent the right thing making getting armor and weapons not work the same as they disspear

May I ask how does it handle removing the spawned items properly? Seems like both spawnactor and BeginSpawningsomething create items but those items cause the game to crash when attempting to leave the map/world
So far I've tried to find a hook that would trigger before garbage collector or something kills itself - to manually remove spawned items from the list but to no avail

You can change character's equipment before spawn by taking equipment variable from the character's passport and alter weapon and armor parameters

I believe the protection the clothing offers is near zero anyway. The arming doublet is the best because you can add chains to it at the armorer in lower levels, before you can find spaulders/pauldrons and vambraces
I know that, but I like trying to get the best gear I can in early stages, and currently I have a jack and gambeson so I'm curious if there's a difference really
Best way to know for sure is equip them in free mode and just check the properties in UE4SS and look for stats. It is a bit harder to find the values in FModel

The easiest way to get an infinite crossbow is to re-arm it automatically after firing. If you spawn with a crossbow, it should be already loaded, right? So we need to restore that state, which may be easier than calling the sequence of events of manual reload

Do you have steam cloud saves on? If you modify the local files there will be a popup telling you which one to use
If you changed the file in the save game folder, when you run the game from steam there will be a popup "cloud conflict", you need to choose the "local save" version.
So infinite crossbow works but sometimes sends you flying as well

These are all made using save editing. Imported models are possible now, presumably they can also be used for making custom weapons, but I've never tried that

I figured it out, when viewing through fmodel its found in the assets folder under the weapons folder which has its own blueprints folder.
now to figure out what I need to actually edit.
Also I had a look at the armor.
cap(lowest), sallet, and armet (highest) protection values.
this is partially why polearms are instant KOs.

To change modules you just copy their paths and put them in respective variables
But beware, while this script runs and finds weapon in your right hand it will replace it with customized weapon. In free mode you can change any weapon to custom weapon with that.

You don't touch those. That's just the ID of the attributes. You only change the value in red. Height is persistent and can be changed to any value you want. Default value for tallest character is 1. If you wonder Champions are 1.5 and the Baron is 2. Weight can be changed too but it is not persistent. Unlike height, weight will reset to 1 after each round.
BTW, height also increase your weight in game. Even if it resets to 1 in save editor, your character in game will have more strength. I changed mine to 2 and that increased my weight to 107 which is about 20kg heavier than the default max value in game.

Decompile the blueprints in FModel and look at the (corrupted) output intensely, I don't know any other way. The argument is the offset into the ubergraph function that correlates with the label in FModel decompiled blueprint crap
That offset looked like crossbow loading logic that spawned the bolt and attached it to the crossbow so I called it and it worked (but still there is like a natural delay of 1 sec or so, so the crossbow is not a minigun)
Actually I am a bit surprised no one is calling ExecuteUbergraph_... functions from mods because it looks like the easiest way to trigger blueprint logic if it is not exposed in any other way
I asked UE4SS devs and they did not try calling it too, apparently, it may or may not work

In the older demo v0.3 based on older UE (5.3?) I did the UI entirely in blueprint and then loaded it with UE4SS’s functionality as a blueprint mod. I wasn’t able to make it work in 5.4.4 for some reason, so for the playtest the UI was done by manually calling UE constructors for UI elements. This was painful but worked for everything including drop downs etc. Now

i never tried using ue4ss bp mod loading, i've just been placing my paks straight in the game's Paks folder and going from there lol
though i did also have to override the game instance (to a child bp of the game's) in one of the config files for it to load soo unless i made like a mod loader type deal, probably a bit overkill

You just need to unpack the contents of the ZIP archive of UE4SS in the right place inside the game's folder, that is all there is to it. The process is the same for every Unreal Engine game, you find where the main executable of the game is and you unpack the UE4SS archive there.

turns out you don't have to convert the raw Uassets to json first,for the blueprints at least.
you can just export them with fmodel and edit them directly in UassetGui.

fmodel to get the uassets in the first place, drag it into UassetGUI, click to export 2 and its right there to edit directly.
you can save it as uasset again.
make make sure the file name is correct, make sure the folder structure is correct, use repak and throw it with the original game pak.
(put _P at the end of the filename so it works like a patch)

I was just writing that. Yes. You can use a sword against pole weapons.
No more black screen from a little bonk to the head
it probably wont penetrate, but you will still get knocked out pretty quickly if you just let it happen or get unlucky.

My opponent will adjust his weapon stance and the tip will lightly graze my helmet and I'm dead

A well placed hit still send you to oblivion but other than that you won't get a concussion from scratching the poles anymore. Really nice mod.

Body tonus really went down hill since the early days of the demo
It was starting to get a bit weird in the last demo they released before EA but it was still functional
I'll have to test it, but I felt that was fine as it is.
I think most of the damage is coming from blunt, which it shouldnt resist much of.
every weapon seemed to be assigned a default 0.85 rigidity with the exception of the specifically blunt weapons.
(rigidity being blunt damage or something)
I mean chain mail. We shouldn't cut it.
