Ah rough. When I do those runs I usually spend several years as a trader and trying to find an early game wife.

One of the best campaigns I ran I only traded and fought in Tournaments. I always use Khuzait horse archers to establish the core of my army. No questing or politics until I have 1 million denars.

Its really awesome in theory and one day when it’s developed enough it will be actual peak gaming. but it’s riddled with crashes and bugs like NPC’s not remembering past conversations. It also uses some LLM called “player-2” which runs out eventually, so you have to pay for more. Im pretty sure you can use other LLM’s also. But that seems like a hassle to set up. You can tweak ai influence to really give depth to the world. My crazy ass mod list also allows for civil wars and factions, so my map has been a bit insane. My current playthrough is a sadistic bandit warlord

There's full on religion and culture in Calradia. I've even set up special bandit rules so the kingdoms all know to fear me and where. It's been fun weaving this story. I even got a whole host of royal captives
