EA gives way too bad first impression, early stages of progression are too unbalanced, lot of stuff is not explained, e.g. how to loot enemies, or that you can hire mercs (if you can really in the first two progression levels).
Optimization also sucks.

BUT. I managed to relatively overcome these issues, game has more adequate FPS (well, except for buggy blood and laggy slums), and willy in progression actually started being a fighter.
If you are able to fix fps and become a commoner, game actually starts to be fine. But it took me a couple days of hate until I actually started liking it again.

Yeah, I agree on that, only issue - game is not clear about it. You can see no stats of your character, which would explain, why he's so weak. I suppose they actually made some hidden strength mechanic, but making it hidden is too counter-intuitive, especially when there's been no such thing in demo.
I honestly thought they just broke it all somehow, until I managed to progress further and game started to be felt more close to demo again.

You don't need to rely on finding items in chests on abyss.

I found it best to disable their legs with a mace, grab the corresponding body part when they're down (not dead), hold E if you grabbed with right arm to take off their armour piece. Hold E again to wear it, (if you're already wearing a chestplate or other same body piece, it will be replaced)

You can do this too in progression. Ie tabards are not sold, they must be stolen from your human foes (they must be dead first)

i try to get the balance right on the guard / a few inches above it if possible for one handed swords, depending on how you play see how long of a sword you prefer most and tune the weight of the blade / guard / handle / pommel until its as nimble as you like
