Any more pics of him ? Because all I could find from his kit (and the other all'antica fellers) were from an old ass belgian photographer website
Sallet by the goat Francois L’Archeveque. On the post he said it’s a German style just not in the typical form.
Look for pics by Julien Zannoni and Susan Sümer from the event. I think there were three or four years, circa 2012-2016.
Basically Feldlager before it was cool
I will get to share some pics from those events after i get home from the office. Location and design was peak
We ball.
living the dream
It was not originally made for me, the guy who made it took it to a popular reenactment market that I went to.
It fit me very well but some alterations to the faulds could have been done, so he told me he'd do those alterations for free. After it arrives today I open the box and realise that he made no alterations to the fauld, he fuckin made an entirely new fauld from scratch for free.
is this john targe ?
Promised bexbach pics - by Julien Zannoni
Some from Susan Sumer
and since you have been a good lot, there are some by Susan from Brancion 2014. Which I sadly missed because of studying for exams and I pity it to this day, since I failed them nevertheless.
While in bexbach, the "in game" area was a large part of former military area (Ramstein, to be exact), with slowly rolling hills, streams, woods, rocky outcrops and whatnot, which gave plenty of room for two opposing camps, Brancion orga had essentially borrowed whole medieval city and a fort on the hill, with the besieging party creating a huge camp outside.
@terse bronze fascinating!
Remember, NO PROMISES! It's not guaranteed
@fast pagoda do read

I made it clear it's not 100%, but it's still interesting
incredibly kitsch that fake hdr is absurd
old rusty bascinet will be added
mord is leaking the gc ...
Besides that. It could be put in the game.
The devs have stated that there will be no women and no children.
Also no creatures are planned
That’s a relief. I’m scared of women.

Does anyone have art with the pants style hose that are in the trailer? I've seen stirrup hose but i don't think I've seen ones with pant legs
iirc they're sailor pants

The sword is very difficult to control
warlock
what region is all'antica from
no specific region
its more or less a universal thing, all'antica styles are seen in art from all over europe
so just all over western europe?
its not much of an actual armor style more so period fantasy seen in art
so it wouldnt be accurate if i were to try and implement it into a piece of what i intend to be historically accurate art
dont think so, no
what ugc group will release this

I'm already cooking my outfit so i can buy later

Thanks a lot! Truly beautiful

Bruh
?
Ok
Will the early access have more factions?
I’d love to see a burgundy faction
They’re like the staple of late medieval fashion imo
That poor armet...
trueee
its unknown what factions are coming in
outside of the base ones
Mcwonder suggested that there is a chance of new factions
but if it seems the likely factions are likely going to be: Burgundy and Swiss Confederacy
and MAYBE Denmark?
my theories is like
Burgundy and Swiss Confederacy are basically going to arrive in some form or way
Italy is a maybe and so is Denmark
i really hope we get to see more factions
it would make the game way more unique tbh
I want more territories that are inside those countries rather than countries as a whole
As factions
Doubt that honestly
Adding hre as a whole would be less bloated and easier
Than like
10 different factions
Also since wars haven't been discussed very much
Everything is level based as well
If a war card gets added im shitting myself
No joke I promise
whats wrong with the war card?
I guess I'll wait to see how optimization does in ea first
A battle is more for bannerlord rather than a very detailed physics based game
eh tru
but i think it COULD work in this game
with like a siege gamemode, with fighting in castles or on the castle walls
Interesting
the only hint we have is the HRE military camp in the background
Also what video was leaked
wdym
oh
Make you wonder if they did it on purpose for some reason
The one with currency leaked?
Yeah thats it. We're getting tournaments dude
There is a "hordes" card
Seems to me like an endless wave mode
Maybe in the forest with waves of bandits coming at you
Yeah probably
Maybe they get higher level gear the longer you survive
Might be reading too much into it but the guys closest to the MC are lesser geared than those further, maybe showing different waves' kit
and hopefully less crashy
It will probably be just that
The gauntlet clipping into the maille 😭
those are sick
Garde Ecossaise in mah heart 💜
That glass is inspiration for what is painted on box which contains my emprise

living the dream
Sometimes
I REALLY hope the Mail shirt is seperate from the armor
I just now realized his pollaxe is backwards, or is it intentionally like that?
is this a grip or is it just a pollaxe configuration
probably just a grip i wouldn’t read too much into it
i think its cool af
A beautiful one
I need to see it
Clipping is always going to be an issue
There was lots of clipping in the trailer but i dont mind
It's early access after all
Im just happy they arent trying to make it perfect and are actually releasing it
The gamemode might be like the round before the final boss
I dont think that's how the game is going to go
in any case the early access message on steam states that custom heraldry is planned for the future
can u dm it to me,
Oop
Not the exact same but close
I had it saved
🤓 The dip in the bottom lame of the fauld is not in the original
im still looking for the reference
I also noticed the bolt attaching the plackard is lower in the image than it is in the HS model
The modeler got to have an insane stash of references
Oh yo wassup acorn
did not recognize you with the different name lmao
peak that you joined
LMAO yea idk why I joined so late
Good to be here
Sorry for the ping, what game is that?
Np! The game is bannerlord, and the mod for it (hasent been released), it dell'arte della guerra
della della what now
@terse bronze ok i don't know who else to ask about this but do you think this is broken or is it supposed to be like this
because i've seen some other gothic ornaments that look similar to the broken state of the window
well it definetly isnt symmetrical on both sides
its also definitely broken a little
and windows like this tend to break similarly symmetrically
this is what i would imagine a pristine one looks like
random pinterest find: 1460-1470 Flanders, KBR ms. 9967
lord farquad
Perfect half sword character villain
mmm fuck soo goth and punk
im planning on altering my arming doublet, needs to be suitible for pauldrons but im not very savvy on arming doublets, anyone able to hand me some recommendations?
preferably an example of a doublet that would go with this as best as possible.
Goated
The helms worn by dueling knights are probably great bascinet lol
Idk if bascinet visor sallet was a real thing
HOLY- That is BEAUTIFUL!
Who made it? Did you make it?
I myself want to make a gothic harness
fuckin wish i did
the one im making is based on more general milan cuirasses, that one is from a statue in austria i think?
are they not just mostly wearing sallet variations?
Yeah but the round visors with holes look like something found on bascinet. Again im not expert on this. 😅
i assume its just a sallet with perforations instead of an eyeslit.
By this point in armour development especially every great bascinet to my knowledge would extend down to the torso on the front and back, with straps fixing it to the breastplate and backplate.
Thats cool
was gonna post my great bascinet but remembered that my phone kicked the bucket ):
who doesn't
was made by a chap i met at a market, was fully built when i met him, tried it on, decided to buy it because he offered to add an extra segment to the fauld on both the front and back to make up for the fact im taller than most people.
Turns out though that he just ended up making entierly new faulds for me. (:
Oh- how nice!
need to ask him for another two straps though because the two smaller side tassets are missing a strap each and i need to put those straps on before i can rivet the front lames on.
I agree with that
but those helmets that extend to the torso would be armets, frog mouth, etc, right? I would say that bascinets don't extend to the torso, but have a mail aventail attached to it instead
thats a bascinet not a great bascinet
just now I was checking some great bascinets and I see your point 😅
I think you are right, seems like a great bascinet, or at least something close to it. My bad
also i dont think armets extend to the torso, at least not during what is considered the medieval period
well no the images all seem to depict maille instead of steel plate extending to the neck and torso.
well, what I meant is that armets cover the neck and rest on the torso, not just on the head
I've never worn one, so please correct me if I am wrong
i could be wrong but as far as im aware any armet that extends down to the torso is renaissance, and often times its actually another piece of armour entierly that does it.
if you mean this sorto of thing then the helmet itself only goes down slightly past the chin, and closes around what i assume is a gorget, that covers the neck.
hmm I understand
yes, that's what I meant
yeah so its not part of the helmet itself, im not sure how much they appeared in the medieval period, i imagine any that did appear would be very much tail end of the 1400s, both of these examples are very much out.
okay then, thanks for your corrections
I had never thought about it that deep
I mean, about gorgets xd
yeah no i get where you're coming from but there are quite a few confusing elements to this sort of thing
some greatbascinets (especially english ""styled"") had an overall sallet shape
thanks, this proves that there's always someone who know more than yourself hahaha
-
based, i wanna see that.
-
surely it would still need the lower head steel plate stuff going on to be a great bascinet?
The helmets in that image kinda just look like straight up sallets
there's also some very rare examples of plate gorgets during (or slightly after) the game timeframe
But the crushing majority is still maille gorgets
yeah thats basically what i thought
It also depends on what you wanna call great bascinet, great sallet, or sallet with large attached bevor and such
uurrgh, well that chin section seems to run below the breastplate so i can only assume its certainly not attached to the helmet
Just looks a lot like
or maybe it does not?
yeah but anything like that which is riveted to the helmet would surely sit ontop of the torso armour
like i doubt you see great bascinets being covered at all by the breastplate
aye but a bevor wouldnt change what a sallet is unless the bevor was physically part of the sallet no?
That's why I said i'm blurry on the saint george statue but as you can see on this (book by tobias capwell btw) sallet "shaped" "greatbascinet" did exist in england
or right i see, thats interesting
And the chronique du hainaut is good and all but the amount of detail can't really give us a definitive answer of what exact type of helmets they're using
1435
i would still say that in the case of the statue, the chin piece appears at least to me like its sitting below the breastplate, which, if it was attached to the helmet, would mean that the helmet would have to go on before the breastplate.
to me though great bascinets in general kinda seem like they're the dna link between alot of helmets.
alot of earlier great bascinets especially look to me like helmets that weren't great bascinets being fortified into great bascinets.
great bascinets totally """evolved""" from regular bascinets
by looking at reinforcing with plate the maille parts
but when you look into it, sallets and barbutes did also "evolve" from bascinets
i imagine probably most helmets after bascinets did
sallet is almost like a child of kettlehats and bascinets
the other type of helmets that branched from a different helmet would probably be greathelms -> frogmouth
Nah definitely only bascinets
they virtually have nothing in common with kettles to be honest
ive seen some sallets that look quite transitional from kettles
no, swear ve seen some helmets that look like the more spanish kettle helmets
mmh
but that too does kinda give sallet vibes, probably has nothing todo with the evolution though
doesn't ring any bells
i assumed that frogmouth helms came from great bascinets tbh
Henry V funerary greathelm
to be fair, i can see where a connection might be lol
the thing is that first sallet is very late in the 15thc compared to bascinets, they came to a point where there was no longer any "bascinet" dna in sallets
i just mean like, based on different images of helmets you can kinda see why one might think sallets have kettle dna
it's like greatbascinets, the first gb were regular bascinets, even having bascinet visors but the later ones are completely distinct
Except for the third one I really can't see it honestly
Like I can see how the third can be rattached to this earlier style (and they briefly coexisted too iicr)
but for the first to me it's completely different
They are older than GB
to some extent i think evolution of helmets wasnt very linear and people kinda just made shit to suit the job
its more about fashions changing i feel
they were?
Yes afaik frogmouths predate them
uh?
i dont really know much about frogmouth helmets because whilst they are cool, they arent very relevant
maybe im thinking of greathelms that look like them
helmer
@robust tendon
yeah i would have thought this sort of thing was older than frogmouths
pretty sure they are yeah
yeah i was thinking of those
my reason for thinking frogmouths came from great bascinets was this type of GB, but i guess this type probably mimicked the frogmouth
isnt that pretty late
i have a vision
frogmouths have more in common with greathelms imo
yeah but i didnt know of any frogmouths that werent quite late either
It’s not out of the realm of possibility
that type of gb existed in the 15th century too im almost certain
no i meant frogmouths are seen 16th century
and 15
yeah ofc
something about sallets man, ugh, absolutely adore.
would look alot better if the middle ridge wasnt there but the shape is quite nice
its mainly the sharp creases to the sides that bother me
im mainly being nitpicky cus the rest of it looks exeptionally good for mass produced reenactment armour
i guess the original kinda looks like that too though
Man at arms "Hill Kuns" rosary still part of a tree in the vatican
?
Was there something like a great sallet, or a very reinforced type of sallet?
scroll up
ya
I think i saw like jousting stuff for sallets too
But i think it was outside the games period
I like this visor
Can we all take a moment to appreciate this man's immense drip
I am definitely recreating that in HS because holy is it beautiful
Also badass bevor
not enough teeth
guantes rojos
each time a person calls a halberd a vouge, a Swiss Confederacy soldier implodes in their grave. #VougeIsNotSwiss
beautiful kit
I think the problem is that most people, that is, people who don’t look into this stuff, when they hear halberd, they’re exclusively thinking of 16th century halberds, and thus don’t recognize 15th century halberds (which are cooler in my opinion) as halberds and try to find a different name for them
I thought we were?
No its not that
the problem stems from a incorrect translation by a fuckass victorian historian
Oh, that’s worse
that lead to the halberd being called a Vouge
Honestly, hearing how much confusion came from the Victorians, I think they might have been one of the worst influences on arms and armor
they do look into it, but thanks to sir "5+5 = 301" the "Halberd is a vouge" thing is in such mass
that finding a source that says it doesn't outside of manuscripts
is so fucking hard
now we have people saying the Vouge is an early halberd
and the halberd ingame is a fucking Bardiche
Victorians also literally just made stuff up
"prima nocte" or "oubliettes" didn't exist
Some torture tools you often see in castle's expositions are just made up
Iron maiden ect to only name that one
Not this one
Im begging
Badass cuirass
Least I can do is give a reference
Yeah
Im also really excited for the kastenbrust
Its literally gonna be the best cuirass in the game no bias bs
me like skirt
this reminded me
aren't we getting sallet tilting and visor moving for the ea?
I mean, isn't this called a type of steel skirt?
Yeah. (I think so)
revealing my face to the enemy for the sake of drip ❤️
Tonelet
It's got some competition
i doubt we'll be able to but it would be sick if we could choose to cover our breastplates
very cool
probably eventually
@terse bronze On the subject of great bascinets, a friend of mine has asked me to take a look at his bascinet and hopefully fix it up + alter it to fit him better... Im thinking, what if i can do some sneaky shit to make it so that he can essentially add or take pieces off to make it a great bascinet?
im collecting up images of many different helmets right now to see how possible this would be
...
personally i think its very possible
thanks
Excerpt about a shooting competition in Zürich, 1472. From Carl von Elgger : Kriegswesen und Kriegskunst der Schweizerischen Eidgenossen im 14., 15. und 16. Jahrhundert, 1873, 266
The shooters from Zürich write to those from Luzern in 1472 and invite them to a shooting competition, competing for an ox worth 8 Gulden, one worth 6 and one worth 5 fl., then a silver goblet, a silver dish, a gold ring and 1 Gulden in gold. Each shooter has 16 shots for the prizes. The target will be 230 paces distant. The radius of the roundel is 1 and 1/4 Züricher ells [I think "Die Scheibe habe 1 1/4 Zürcher Elle vom Zweck an in der Ründe."] The entry fee is 6 Zürich shillings. Each shooter should shoot with their free arm so that the gun does not rest on the shoulder and without any unfair advantages or tricks.
Do you guys think it would be possible to add Great Bascinets to the game? I know they were sorta falling out of use by the 1450s, though I believe they would still fit the timeframe of the game. I think they look awesome, but I don’t know how the physics engine would work if Willie can’t move his head all that much.
level 3 requirement my beloathed
they fit the game
obv not the same style as a greatbascinet from 1410
it goes without saying
much is half sword gonna cost
50
1 gazillion
$100 for the base game, $200+ for the ultimate edition
MORE
$2000 for the jousting DLC
Worth every penny
No!1!1! i want half sword to be FREE1!1!1!1!1!
id pay so much lmao
I wanted to pay full price for the game so I could give more money to the devs to help even more
Would ANY sort of bascinet be possible in half sword?
great bascinets
like this
Oh, interesting! Would militia be wearing any sort of bassinets by this time or no
nope
Sorry, autocorrect messed it up
To a certain extent by the mid-15th century, the use of bascinets was practically nonexistent
Didnt you just
^^
I also assume some of the more famous types of bassinets (houndskull and klappvisor) were gone by the 1430’s or 40’s?
He is saying about common bascinets and stuff
i can think about 1 (one) source mentioned a bascinet in 1460s in a german inventory for town militias
however
can't go in details on what kind of bascinet it is, or if it's even what we would call today a bassinet and not juste a barbute-y helmet
essentially yes, even before tbh
Don't forget the irish and the swedes
Houndskull my beloved 😔
klappvisiers even before you classic side pivot bassinets
Interesting!
they're weird
I know how weird Irish armor is but how is Swedish armor weird?
(Of this period)
not the armor, just that both used bascinets up until the 16th C
Oh okay
also fyi a bascinet can be both a klappvisier and a hounskull
for the swedes only the peasant militia
Good to know!
mfw it's the late 16thc
I thought that was 11th century at first 💀
Praying we will get palaiologos-monteferrat as a faction (I need to be able to Rome larp)
Sailor pants spotted!!!
love those
What timeframe is this from?
1501–1503

1212??
No way this is meant to be 1212
1212 is the name of the mod
It starts in the year 1212
Ah
It’s not bannerlord modding there’s different time periods in one mod
it features 3 timeperiods (that evolves during the campaign)
starts at 1212, then the second era is 1370-80s then 1450-70s
That makes sense

The free mode is fucking mid as fuck
Only one armor set..
did THEE Ivan just react to me?!
i feel so honored
Me too.. me too.. i was going to go wild with my character!! I had the perfect half kit in mind man
You have to get the armor through progression and change how it looks in the progression too
Very strange but cool
Yee
Does this look like the correct channel to ask this
Damn ok
is this some kingdom come deliverance 3
i hear you have to “ensure” armor from the progression to get it in free
I think so, but i just wish we could make some cool ass kits in the Free mode like this
you can if you ensure it lol
Yeah, the post calls it a tournament armor
I really like the Fleur de lys decorations
That would be so cool...
Are there any historical examples of the untailored (baggy) hosen I've seen in-game? I love the design so I'm simply just curious.
several
not that many tho
most sources are swedish it seems, only one i posted is french (the one with the striped shirts)
Do you know of the date for the French source?
I'm presuming early 1500's
i do not sry
All good I appreciate the help!
the two other drawn sources (the black and white ones) are early 16th century
These are wonderful, thank you very much.
such a silly system
what's the point of going to free mode to dress fancy if I've already bought and ensured every item in progression
free mode should be free...maybe a few things unlocked by progression but majority of it should be there
The devs want you to play the progression mode man
I did say a few things could be locked behind progression, but not the entirety of free mode 😭
Plus progression should have it's own incentive. If I want to feel a sense of development and accomplishment, progression. If I just want to fuck around, free mode.
Nice stuff
Saved from pinterest, the source was written in german it has year 1462 written in it. Do you think it look like something from 1460s-1470s?
how is the early access
i love having early access to 1450-1470s medieval armsand armor references

u should play it w me
Le Iberian
peaak
bro i don't get how yall are at late game already
i just got to militia
maybe it's because I've been spending all my money on ensuring everything but still
the time frame in the channel name should go up to 1475 now, given that's the official date we got
i'd guess the timeframe is moreso there to have a frame of the gear the devs would be willing to put there
But i agree
nah
mf how the fuck does image perms work in this damn place
cant post shit in here, no fashion, no funnies, nothin
way too late for the game boss
yeah
i think tis a visor for the barbute
damn
kind of a bummer you cant blacken and guild armor
or change out visors
for the sallet
but its the wrong channel for this
barbutes don’t have visors
that’s their whole thing
too early
we could maybe potentially see bascinets
but like
they look old as shit
rusty af and stuff
and are super rare
so you can't just make a outfit with the bascinets without mods forcing it to look pristine
medieval dress up my beloved, i wish we could configure the tabards but that feature isn't out yet
what’s the point
i would like to see like older effigies on some maps and perhaps those could show bassinets
its likely being saved for a spoilance gamemode
Its basically confirmed certain old gear will be present
nonono
like
outright
wearable bascinets
actual ARMOR
but like mcwonder said
its not 100% that bascinets are being added
and the chance of prob seeing one in half sword gameplay will be so rare
i think the question is: What is considered too old?
and what is considered too new?
1450-1470

i feel like its literally just gonna be a kettle
as the "old" equipment
Biggest troll of the year
Make em think its a bascinet but its just a 13th century kettle helmet
Not a fan of the tabards ngl
Wish there was s way to tie them around the waist and to make them less wrinkly
I'm only at soldier rn but i don't think there's vibrant colour options for them either
how unlikely would it to be for throwing crosses to be in the game
find some 15th century sources for them and you’ll be able to tell us
tried loosely copying the shape of period 'rapiers' with the ingame sliders, seems pretty close to me
no finger rings of course but pretty similar, guard might be a bit overkill
that guard holy guacamole
that’s not a source
thats an incredibly wide and dubious range i think
for one extant to be dated in a range of 200 years lol
i think at the earliest there are depictions for them in like the 1500s
my bad
i deadass cant find shit about it besides one image from a company that sells them
😭
they're 16th century anyway
the guard to handle ratio seems close, but cant get a blade nearly as long with a 1h handle
hope we can eventually get finger rings !
agreed that'd be cool
ive wondered if being that we can make our own weapons now there really wont be a need for weapon mods like we had before, but now it could simply be asset packs that allow more pieces and options for the customizer
And unlock the sliders
Please!!
Sam, call Ivan and force him to add it
Why can't I post pictures here 😢
level 3
Maybe moderators could create a fashion channel
Cuz this is not the channel to post stuff like that tbh
whu
what is this channel for then ;-;
OH
As the title implies, historical references for the game (1450-1470s)
I UNDERSTAND THE 1450-1470 NOW
i wish it would actually say that in the channel description
We need a proper "fashion" channel to post builds and stuff tho
Livre du cuer d'amours espris
(ca. 1460, France)
ÖNB 2597 HAN MAG
I like his arm harness
Surviving brigandine made in Geneva by Johannes Brassardi, in the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Genève, circa 1460. I can still see some traces of blue dye used for the brigandine.
Marks in the plates:
are we sure the original was blue?
because Leather can turn blue over time due to copper and iron chemical reactions, and high uv
The texture of the brigandine suggests some kind of textile rather than leather, and you can see a few bluish spots on an otherwise beige brigandine
This to me suggests the brigandine was blue
Makes sense to me
wish this guy would sell these, i'd pay such a high penny for them
Same here
What is this from
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
Love this creator, commissioning a slashed doublet from him soon.
The long sword build can have a messer blade
Though they need to have options for thinner ones instead of that super wide one they have
gentlemen, we need to mass spam fringe hoods and livery coat examples so ivan can add them!!! 🔥
they should make a willie mini fig
Agreed
Is there medieval term for the scarf hes wearing?
What happened to the one with the flat end
scarf
foulard
maybe not
His fringed hood? Gugel
Thank youuu
That's just one of the french words for scarf
yes i made it up
This might be interesting or useful for whatever reason, arrows vs 15th century armor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFFgcTzCvMo
‘Arrows vs Armour’ is back! This time we have an armoured soldier of 1450 in our sights. All of him.
But not just one archer shooting at our target, a whole host! Every detail of the bows, arrows, armour and clothing will be correct and every moment, every spectacle, every discovery has been filmed.
7 warbow archers with bows from 120lbs...
pique
I love his work
