Yeah, this game launched to having worse numbers than the demo conccurently after the first week; I put 200 hours into the demo and 90 into the playtest, but my 5090 can't even run the game at full settings. The menu's/sandbox is gutted so hard that the demo felt like it was worth more at release. If they dipped more resources into adding multiplayer and having the same features as the demo, this game would have succeeded based on that alone imo

I believe this is why one person can be on KB&M, and the other is forced to use a controller.

Dude somehow got hit under the armor with an axe. Once he seemingly recovered he was stuck in the fatal neck injury animations and it was very difficult to move. Then I went to unequip my shield and it was like someone used the gmod physgun to freeze my torso

Well, imo, that's this games saving grace. Multi-player creates an infinite loop of fun, and it encourages people gifting copies or encouraging friends to buy their own. The entire games presence is based on wacky physics and fun/intense situations. It would be one of the top "Play with your Friends" games in days, if it launched with it.
Not that the game needed multi-player to succeed, it couldve done more than the 757 players currently playing less than three months after launch if it was less dense in variety content/story and more rich in what it already did well: Sandbox. Literally, to me who isnt a game dev, spend two years on the EXACT same demo, but impliment multiplayer. Boom, the game literally will succeed on that alone.
Then, worry about content and single player progression. To me, as a consumer, that is the correct direction for this game as it stands now, without griping about what couldve been. Abandon forest and slums, keep smaller maps, enchance the sandbox, and pivot every single resource into multi-player as possible. Ik there are other jobs within the company, but downscale the scope and focus on what people want. All in my opinion
The stance is, the team is not confident they themselves can implement a polished and clean multiplayer experience due to the the complexity of the physics calculations that would need to be performed with near 0 latency. It isn't something they have experience with. If they did this, they would need to hire people with that experience, and that would cost big bucks, and take a lot of time.
So instead, they decided to invest their time and resources in making an amazing single player experience.
If that's tldr, then attention spans are doomed imo. I'm just voicing my discomfort with the games approach and how I believe it can pivot. This is an emotional message, but its from a place as someone who loves the game.
Multiplayer is too much for them to implement, Theyve already been in talks with beamng devs about getting it to work so between the time of the original faq and now i guess they realized it wasn’t something feasible

Consider this. Before EA released and we only had the Demo, it was very common for people to have 100 hours or more. That speaks volumes about the single player experience they are capable of producing.

This is part of the reason they aren't over communicating. There are frequent visitors here how misunderstand, hold them to things that weren't really promised, and twist things to sound differently than they were intended. This happened each time the Play Test or Demo had any communication updates.
Due to this, its in their best interest to only communicate when they are 100% ready to do so.

I'm mainly frustrating with the current state of the game if nothing else. Every feature that was advertised is buggy in some way shape or form. Split screen barely works, the game still crashes just as frequently, and its hard to enjoy the game because of all of the issues. I want to enjoy the game and have hope for the development, but we havent even got any updates to the work in progress channel, which they loved to use when they were developing the demo.

It is the keystone of the issues with the way the combat feels in EA. All reporting across the board is that despite getting used to the adjustments in stances and reaching maximum strength wrists feel to weak and flimsy.

It really shows on polearms tho, you cant make your polearm like past 2 kg otherwise it feels pretty sluggish unless your willie is really strong

At the time of closed testing it was not widely reported, and those who reported it were also not sure if was weapon specific or strength mechanic related.
There is a common issue in small scale testing with 'toxic positivity'. Sometimes things are under reported due to hype, and or not wanting to come of harsh.

Concussion is ofc normal and expected, the head is like one of the few valid targets of blunt damage, but getting completely detroyed by hits to the limbs and torso is too much, and yeah even on the head its too much at times.
