None really, poor weapon design. I like using the 4 prong hammer on the front, and the axe head on the back. The axe head cuts into gaps pretty often, and lesser armor people just get sliced up. The hammer part is the best hammer head in game and makes quick work of armor too.

I don't feel it has any affect on performance or sluggishness. It is just a thing that takes control of your weapon to posture for a defense.
Some of us dislike this, and want full control, for better or worse. So we use this method to disable it.
