available in the form of randomization and on only one map to play on. You couldn't play abyss in free mode. Sandbox would give you access to everything, all maps, etc and allow you to customize your loadout, what equipment your enemies have, how many enemies you want to face, etc. - the itch.io build has this, in essence it's the closest thing to a Half Sword sandbox mode.
I understand what you mean though. Like I said the current free mode could definitely be improved on, but I think a lot of people misunderstand what "free mode" is suppose to mean.

I honestly just want a free access to the weaponsmith and access to all armors (Untold time has been put towards gathering all the gear I want for different builds). I insure every piece I find so the progression is practically a free mode at this point for me since there's no risk, but it would be nice if free mode felt more free. I could care less for the enemy loadouts, atp just give me buhurts and map picking in freemode.

you can still spin kick in ea, just a bit harder. I like the sword fighting in half sword so far. I haven't messed around with too much tech yet, just getting the basics nailed down and practicing and such but I plan to begin experimenting more and more. It seems they really took weapon weight/PoB serious and crafting a sword that's properly weighted and balanced can make a lot of difference in how it moves. Same with maces.
Been practicing with stuff like the baron sword too, a lot of people hate on it but it's not too bad once you practice with it some. I think to really properly wield it you'd also have to be 100+ kg, which takes some time to get to

That's not always the best area for PoB. Typically swords are balanced a bit forward of the guard. Depending on the length of the blade it can be anywhere from 4 to 12 cm, but yeah. Look into how historical swords were really balanced, pretty interesting.

I can't use any bauernwehrs as side arms because if I ever have them sheathed they will eventually cause some jank and end up pulling me in a direction or blocking me from walking or some shit, which sucks because I'd like to use them. Red is from the abyss, typically - there have been times I loot items from outside the abyss that were red, but it's rare.
As for orange, it's not so simple. Here's a write up I did on it if you're interested -
I've been investigating this because it's not quite clear.
From what I can tell, it's caused by when you insure a weapon/piece of equipment that is unique/has a unique model, for example the big two-handed axe, or the big candelabra (counsellors staff) etc, you insure that item, and then you go to the abyss and find that item in the abyss and take it back with you. That version you took back with you will be orange, and it will also turn your other item of the same model that was already in your inventory orange, as well as make any future appearances of that item orange (such as at the merchant, etc)
Now there may be more to this, it's not exactly clear what the parameters of orange items are yet, but I've been investigating it for a while and so far this is what seems to be the case.
It's also worth noting that if you die/retire and start a new character on that same save and inherit your old items and such, all of the items you had that were orange will turn back to just regular insured yellow. Also, orange items are automatically insured as well so you can't lose them.

i know a buddy of a friend who worked construction with friends from the military, and he was talking something about an acre or around that much that managed to have a whole lake on the property. It was either that, or jus a chunk of land with a cabin and lake, along with the forest around it going for 17k somewhere inland on the east coast by the mountains, with a town not 15 minutes away

Note the placement of the river and certain buildings and such. So they aren't just randomly placing buildings and what not, Frankenburg seems to have a particular design they're sticking to, that is so far consistent between artworks. Very cool imo
