I dont think you can customize loadouts specificially but the Mount and Blade games have large scale wars where you can fight as one of the troops on the ground

I noticed swords are clunky sometimes too because of my wrists being weak af, sometimes I swing and willie doesn't cut but just does the flat side towards willie and completley misses

long range weapon is literally the way to go in half sword EA, when I had a pitchfork I rushed through first 3 ranks and then I got me hands on a halbert and finished the game in no time
