To delete your save and fully reset your progress, back up your save or make multiple saves:

1. Make sure you've exited out of Half Sword then turn off Steam Cloud saves in Half Sword Properties>General

2. Press Windows key + R to bring up a run box, in the run box put %localappdata%\HalfSwordUE5\Saved\SaveGames and click OK or press enter, once you're in the folder, delete the 'GameProgress.sav' file if you want to entirely reset your progress.

3. To back up your save, copy the GameProgress.sav file to a designated folder named something like backup1. If you need to revert your save to the backup, simply copy the file back into its original location and overwrite.

4. To create multiple saves and switch between them, move the GameProgress.sav file to a designated folder named save1 or some such. When you start Half Sword again it should play the intro cinematic and let you create a new character. From here, if you want to play your old save, move the newly created GameProgress.sav file that's currently in the SaveGames directory to a designated folder named save2 and then copy or move the old GameProgress.sav file from the save1 folder into the SaveGames directory.

The folder names used here such as backup1 and save1 are just placeholders, they can be named anything you want.

I personally did not expect too much of the devs and its clear others expected too much. It's a small team. most of their optimization mistakes are really silly, but on other things they showed how much talent they have.

my guess, some people just have EA fatigue, like yeah everyone can understand a game is unfinished, buggy etc etc

and its great that the devs have been pretty quick at fixing a lot of issues, but its like... the point of EA is to get people to buy the game in an early state, so people get super excited for that and obviously wanna buy the game theyve been waiting for, even if its unfinished

so even if you expect the game to be buggy and whatnot youre also expecting a certain level of playability, like REGARDLESS of the EA stamp and the devs saying in the game "guys listen its unfinished" that does not soften the blow when the game releases the way this one did and you cant really close that can of worms once you open it which is why releases are so important for a games health

yea for sure, and i think they should get some credit for getting the game in a much better spot early on

but like not even something as basic as the split-screen mode even really works and they probably have to work on so much other basic stuff before they can even touch tertiary things

they 100% controlled the release, nobody was forcing them to release the game when they did ya know? they couldve delayed it another 2-3-4 weeks maybe another month or two and nobody would really be that upset like they are once the game is purchasable

tip: if you feel like youre falling over try to walk in the opposite direction of the fall. this can help with balancing. I guess willie doesnt have reflexes to stop himself from running headfirst into walls, so inverse kinematics is our job too.

It's like 80-100fps and I'm running ultra quality and the rest medium settings, epic foliage which decides like pretty much the most of what the game looks like. I tried putting the shading and lighting stuff to medium too but it wouldn't save idk why but I don't think it would've made that much of a difference ngl
