Go in and test. All stances lie in a circle. Place your sword in one position (point A), and move it to another. (point B) Take note of where your weapon swings. Then try again from point A and adjust point B until you find a swing that you like.

Then just do it again and again, practicing doing that one swing over and over

You can also try halfswording if you're using a sword. Geezmo has great advise on the methods though. A lot of it comes down to understanding the movement of your swings, you can also incorperate a sidestep while swinging to help motivate your strike.

Willie is a bit 'rubbery' in this game, but you can use that to your advantage.

Try sticking to a single style of weapon for a while too, since a lot of them behave differently on the swing.

For a Pole Arm, it could work too. But when it comes to spears, there really isn't any super technical stuff to learn. Stab, and that is basically about it. Outside of that, it is leverage manipulation in the bind and grapple. But this game does that stuff pretty poorly vs real life.

a lot of polarms in hema teach you that stabbing isn't the ONLY thing you will be doing with those weapons, its a lot of bashing, slashing, tripping and using sword like hema forms to your advantage

Second match was all stabs

Third match more stabs.

So, out of the three times it was anything but stabs, it only worked once. I maintain that stabbing is the best thing you can do with a spear lol.

I've actually been using how the halfsword works to grab. Instead of just going to straight half sword, you have to physically grab the blade, so I swing it around behind them, then swap to half sword to lock em in. (I also often use this against salet helmets to remove their head from their torso)

you really only stab in a few instances outside of ofc war, in Fiore manuals he states that swinging takes a lot room with a spear so while it is common to do swings with a spear, stabbing is always seen as the "Go to", in Guard of the true cross, stated you must stab into the chest when presented or have the ability to. in another example right guard of the window states that you will strike yours in passing into the chest

the stab in Fiore works, states that the stab is a riposte move

something you would do AFTER a parry

A stab is basically NEARLY the same as in sword related hema art, where you do it when you have a opening, parry then riposte, or in a bind, the same rly applies to spear. ofc you can do it whenever but the move is applied in the same instance regardless

I got the buckler to stay out forward without holding the RMB somehow a couple of times by tapping it 2 or 3 times and releasing it, and then was able to use the sword normally while being protected by the buckler without it going around, but i can't get it working consistently for some reason.
Does anyone know about this? Having buckler out in stab mode while swinging sword in normal mode is infinitely more useful then normal controls where buckler and sword move together wherever i swing, and if i can do that consistently, i might start using the buckler, please tell me if you know how that works

It uses an old blower from the 1800s he scavenged, and I use a railroad tie as my anvil. I found an old sawhorse and worked on it to make a forge and tool stand, as well as a table.

Aluminum keeps off oxidzation, copper gives it a strong shape and cheaply fills it out.
