I first found out about HS from a Youtuber friend in 2022. The Discord had just been opened. I joined and lurked for over a year.
I was really impressed with the early demo and became very interested in the development process. When I become interested in a subject I consume as much content related to it as possible. I also enjoy a good discussion and providing information that I have collected about the subject (Teaching is advanced learning).
I lost my job due to chronic back injury and so I ended up with allot of free time. HS became my life, I spent all my free time playing and hanging out in the Discord helping out and just being involved overall. After a few months of being regularly active I was eventually invited to join the modteam. I resisted at first (moderation changes ones perception of a community) as the community grew I saw a need for more help so I accepted and joined the moderation team.
In the late spring/early summer 2024 Half Sword Games announced their partnership with Game Seer. Visceral (Now Pierrot Le Fou) the CEO of GS joined the Discord and introduced himself and the long term plans moving forward with HSG/GS in regards to marketing and PR. During this discussion he mentioned their intent to hire a community manager.
I have been involved in indie game development community management since 2007. Most notably I worked closely with the PR manager and Community Manager during the development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. During this time I learned allot of what goes into the job and got my first experience behind closed doors of game development. Unfortunately I did not have a passport and remote work was not as common or as easy in 2012, so when the opportunity open upped for a new CM I was considered but the opportunity was given to someone else who already had the ability to freely travel (in addition to much more relative work experience).
This experience, my knowledge of the game, the dev team, and their work flow made it easy for them to consider me. After interviewing with GS and then HSG they decided I was the right fit and was chosen for the position.
Passion, experience, and knowing when to pounce on an opportunity when it prevents itself in the end is what got me here.

willie is actually insane stuck fighting infinite copies of himself while lost in the abyss. when he dies in the arena he finally wakes up from his slumber in the abyss and where he fights and goes back to the arena, that's actually him going back to sleep in the abyss to fight in the dream arena again. only when he beats the gauntlet does he get sent out of the dream and the abyss and go back into the real world, where he is a peasant with no money, no food and no hair😎

I kinda wish there was a stance change button to allow the weapon to swap between defensive and offensive modes, though given the nature of Half Sword, there'd be no point in using the parrying part of the weapon
