I'm liking the game but it would be nice to have an "easy" mode where your progression doesn't reset when you die. Like, I don't want to keep playing the same peasant and farmer shit over and over again. To me the promise of the game is about swords and whatnot. not farm implements and candlesticks. Nobody said you suck ass. It is objectively a skill issue, you haven’t played enough to get good to the point where you don’t have problems making it through without dying. You got the solution, if you don’t like gauntlet then dont play gauntlet. That’s what free play is for. If you want progress, well then Youre just gonna have to play until you get better like literally any other game

There are also a few more ways to not be sent back to zero, and the earlier tiers are way more unforgiving than the later ones.
- You can always hold G to give up, losing one fight of progress in exchange for surviving.
- If you have no time to do so, you can also press escape and go back to menu as long as you aren't considered dead already, you will also lose one single point, and be able to play again at the same level.
That won't protect you from instant death, but it can help a bit more too while you get more used to the game.
As you progress, you'll get more armor, meaning way less instant deaths
