also tanking and learning to deflect blows into my armor

but that comes with polearms in general to me

mainly tanking is just about knowing where you're exposed so you focus on defending there and can take hits elsewhere.

Like veteran has a weird cuirass that leaves your upper chest exposed, so I defend a bit higher and let my stomach take hits if necessary
