As for swordplay and anticipating how to parry, it's knowing your own weapon just as much as your enemy's.
Maneuvering to protect yourself from the enemy's lane of attack, whether shielding with armored arms, crossing off a path with your blade, or pinning them and denying any effective movement.
There's a lot of stuff that goes into it and playtime does help, but knowing what to practice helps even more

Anything but cinematic 💔 your computer will turn into a jet engine
you can try running it on dx12 and see how your PC handles that. Dx12 applies Lumens and shaders, which can sometimes bog up the pc

you can try dx12 but it might work better with dx11. All depends on your rig.
Framerate and resolution also depend a lot on your monitor and such, match your resolution with your monitors res. (Should be set proper by default usually)

the best way i can try to describe it is something like this; Longsword, fully drawn back over the left shoulder right? instead of making a roughly 45 degree swing to any point on the body, it stops the swing, and redirects me entirely either to guard legs, or it keeps the sword upright, changes guard to the right side and lowers it again
like it puts it in the state of rotating blocking positions rather than completing the swing, leaving me entirely open every time it happens
