YO any advice on fighting the third gate boss without instantly getting oneshot

i get through the executioner fairly easy considering, if i cant get him at a distance i grab the knife and break guard and grab him and give him the peasant special, the reaper is just simply dealt with by breaking guard, but once you fight the knight its just so mismatched, i go to step in for a swing and its instantly head lobbed in half

Just played the Half Sword demo yesterday and I’m seriously impressed. Played for 5 hours straight.
