For duels you have longsword, sword and buckler, sword and heater shield and polearms. For mass battles you have all the above, and falchions, maces, long axes, short axes and halberds. Zweihanders are very rare to see because they are not effective in this sport.

Yeah you’ll have a tough time using one in buhurt. They’re cool, and fun, but you’re just not gonna be doing enough damage with them and it will severely limit your grappling ability. I also don’t believe there’s any duelling category for zweihanders. Your best bet would be to focus on longsword for duels, and polearms or falchion and shield for mass battles

Ah, buhurt is far less technical than HEMA. The most technical we get in mass battles is using MMA, Judo, Jiu Jitsu etc. some people use authentic technique in duels but not really. Buhurt is considered the be the ‘hit really hard and hit a lot’ side of medieval recreation sports haha

The polearms are still godawful. Stabbing still sucks. Still can't rebind the controls at all to actually help mitigate some of these issues.

I get it but typically with these kinds of things you see incremental fixes and changes. I'm not saying they have to fix it overnight but you'd think they would need to test this kind of stuff through multiple iterations.

They basically dropped the demo update and made 3/4 of the weapons borderline unbearable to use, made willy drunk or something, and then gave the AI better balance and weapon handling than we have as the player.

It's just a frustrating turn of events. It feels like they tried to make the game harder not by increasing the AI's actual difficulty but by effectively making them more stable than you are in both stance and weapons, which just is not satisfying to play against IMO. It feels like whatever they did to the physics sacrificed a HUGE amount of the accuracy with strikes that you could get in the playtest.

Plus it didn't even make it more difficult really, just less satisfying to play as it feels like half of the kills now come from just flailing around.

And/or me or the enemy fell over and can't get back up.
