I have a problem which I cannot fix using common methods (reinstall, restart, checking files through steam). Every time I achieve a better class (better than beggar), I just can't use it. I see my loadout in main menu but I spawn without anything else than beggar's stuff. Worse things happen when I try to play free mode - I can't choose any class and I spawn absolutely naked. Also all of my settings reset everytime I start the game (resolution, quality etc.). Has anyone experienced that kind of bug(?) or am I doing something wrong

people have different schools of thought on sprint, but I personally believe that you should almost always be holding shift unless you are kiting multiple enemies, and even then it should be used a ton

This issue occurs when users do not install or run the .exe as admin, this does not give the program the right permissions it needs to populate Appdata.
Issue: HalfSwordUE5 folder is not found in Appdata folder.
Fix: Run as Admin. Right click on Half Sword Demo from your steam library from the popup navigate to Manage>Browse local files. In the folder that pops up find HalfSwordUE5.exe the file extension .exe may not be visible with your folder view settings the file type will be Application.

so this is an example of using dodge to close distance instead of creating it
you can do it while locked on, but it is much less pronounced, I use this same motion to kinda dodge backwards while holding sprint and delivering an overhead, so you can make space while moving your feet back to add power to the downward swing, if you mix that with kicking shield rushers they crumble
to dodge you sprint, strafe, and look the opposite direction
and it does this movement boost thing

I’m not sure who told you to lower max fps but, typically the problem is the blood as stated in the recent #updates post. You can limit crashes by ether turning down, or off entirely, the blood slider in settings

yeah it's not a stance change it just makes your guy ready to move faster at the cost of using stamina
at lot of times as I get better I've gotten the discipline to just tap or hold shift only when I'm doing strikes or making a particularly fast movement for the sake of stamina but it seems like you can sprint around a few steps either direction and recover the stam fast enough for it to not really be an issue unless you're just running

did the guilds use to require acceptance? I was going back in the chats and I saw a lot of mentioning of "joining" the guilds, of people asking if they could send clips to be worthy of the guilds, and in general a lot more guild-related, community-oriented speaking, instead of what it is now where they send clips without abandon.
we need to reallocate the guilds and get them back this way. have the respective masters of each guild judge people's clips and then allow/disallow them into the guild, where they can, if accepted, present their clips and their ideas on how to further the respective gameplay of that guild. too much is it now, "here's my gameplay" rather than "here's an interesting move you can do, and here is how it is applied". all in all it seems they've lost all structure which I never knew, but looking back seemed so much better an alternative. people discovering new ways to play the game, new mechanics, new behaviors.
of course, everyone would still be able to view the guilds, but as mentioned, be restricted from making an entry, because again, they should be new and valuable insights into the game by someone of proven experience rather than pure gameplay itself or uninformed opinions, both of which do little for fostering a community.
looking in the pins of the guilds, you can see plenty of this former community, where they pioneered, and were then able to share with everyone else. when was the last time something was pinned as useful? months ago, by all accounts, way before even the newest big update. most discussion that has happened since I joined has been in passing on how to play the game from its basics, and as of yet, other than entries I have proposed, I haven't seen much in the way of innovation in the guild I frequent. even by clips, a guild post is made once in a blue moon, and outside of the small rudimentary discussion, nobody talks. it is so stale now, even though there is so much work to be done, and so many people to teach.

but a simple step off line is enough to be considered a dodge

i played a lot of for honor so the lock on system in this game works pretty much the same as that
let go of m1 or "the lock on" and press again to re-lock to a different target etc
