I think there needs to be different movement sets that can be swapped too via hot key or contextual actions, for example if I pull my dagger as a sight and grab my opponent I believe the game should contextually swap my dagger to a reverse grip and give me a stabbing type moveset that suits the type of grappling I am engaging in

another thing, if youre halfswording and you start to see the screen darken, its cuz ur getting tired. holding down the mouse buttons whilst in halfsword mode for a long time will drain stamina, so if youre in a lock against another armored willy it could be because of that. just let go of the mouse buttons briefly so you stop swinging and fighting against them, and youll regain taht stamina
