every time i rank up i get a championship match the enemy has a weapon i need to pick up a weapon, i run to pick one up i either trip myself or get cut in half in one long axe swing

You have to time your pickup. It's not like other games where you hit button and weapon warps into your hand @hallow sentinel

press it on approach and make sure the side you're picking up is the hand you've pressed (e for right side pickup q for left)

further, you can spin out of the pickup to keep your balance even easier

@hallow sentinel if you just go to the practice range and drop your weapon, you can practice how to pick it up in a low stress environment. Just know it's possible to do without missing or falling almost 100% of the time

double tap f for slo mo to restart get up attempt. you can grapple your opponent on the way up if you think they are going to hit you down again

I think slo mo is underrated. you do see more people using it lately. It has a tradeoff of stamina use which makes you easier to knock over when its low

I use slo mo more for smaller weapons where you need precise blocks and attacks with little reaction time

once you get more armor and bigger weapons it's kind of hard to justify

every opponent has a weakpoint, even in knight. The more armor the more precision you need with swings to hit gaps and the easier it will be to just focus on blunt damage

Trying to use them in Ultimate Challenge when you only had that or a short mace was torture. I ended up just swing it like a baseball bat and trying to clip a neck with the end.

It seemed like the bots had aimbot with theirs, so a stabby fight was a no-go
