It seems to be a common issue ATM during the ultimate challenge specifically with blood/gore optimization. People have reported that lowering/disabling blood and gore values in the settings helps tremendously as a temp fix. Tis the best we got for now

because I've notice the weight and physics change on the sliced gibs, so its not like its duplicating the body and making parts invisible

I have used a peasant with a pitchfork to get through commoner more than I've used a commoner

IF I was going to use a commoner I personally would choose a double handed sword over single with shield. Small shields are hard to use and you get better strikes 2-handed in my opinion

Trust me, grotesque will help a ton.

Go against him with a peasant wielding any sort of polearm and he gets easy kill instantly.
But there is some fun in beating him with a longsword since that was the only time I had to try and use some actual fencing in order to beat him

With longsword your best bet is to hold your sword forward and after he hits on your sword do a quick slash on him. In case it went smoothly you'll cut him badly and will basically win the fight

there is always a large knife in the middle on the first boss. I will try to grab gloves and/or a helmet and then go for that knife unless there is a large candlestick present. Your best bet against that axe with or without a helmet is to get in close and cut him up or knock him off balance but the axe is much harder to cut you with up close. The 2nd and 3rd boss idk what you mean because you choose your weapon by hitting randomize (free when you first hit each tier) and it should be the peasant pitchfork for both honestly
