Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.

When it comes to knives, you should only use the butcher knife and the kitchen knife (the two big ones), and stabbing with them is ill advised. I just stick to slashing the throat. Normal willies will always give up if they're bleeding out like that

Not with the knives. Stab damage is based on depth. The butcher knife can get good stabs, but not the kitchen knife. Slashing the throat is a better option, especially because it leaves you less open to retaliation.

Yeah but you're just vaguely swinging in the neck/face area. Try making more diagonal cuts to the shoulders and arms. Also go for the legs more, they're a real juicy target.

Half-swording is my usual strategy against the placon guys. It's real easy to shut them down with half-swording by trapping their spikes against your blade and then impaling them.

You shouldn't swing to knock things aside. The willies don't give a shit if you hit their weapon. Parrying isn't too hard. You set your stance by holding shift, then place your weapon out extended in front of you. Whenever a swing comes in, move your mouse slightly in the direction the attack is coming from to knock the blow offline, then IMMEDIATELY riposte and swing back in for the enemy.

I think that's simply a matter of practice. Getting better at recognizing an attack from the right faster, and being able to meet it quicker.

i think the biggest issue with the demo is the settings menu
