hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know that the halfsword demo runs great on steamdeck ootb,no tinkering required. On medium settings you get about 60fps in the duels, but more than two willies will tank the framerate to about 25ish fps. I'm still having a blast and using the gyro on lower sense compared to the stick gives you a second mouse input to adjust your weapon position and deflect blows. I'm having a blast so far! On steam it says "unsupported" for steamdeck, maybe someone should update that to "playable" 🙂

if you're playing the abyss from the menu, you don't get out, it's a roguelike mode, so as you keep moving, the armour and gear gets better, as do the enemies, it's just an endless mode

It seems to be a common issue ATM during the ultimate challenge specifically with blood/gore optimization. People have reported that lowering/disabling blood and gore values in the settings helps tremendously as a temp fix. Tis the best we got for now

what's the blood value set at in the settings? Try disabling that and keeping gore where it is— we aren't quite sure if it's an issue with dismemberment, blood, or both— so give it a try with disabled blood in the settings.

Regarding gore, try just disabling blood first and leaving gore where it is— if it still crashes, it is likely an issue with the gore slider

First of all, thanks for the feedback—I checked out your photos and they look great! I really like the filter you used, it gives them a nice realistic touch.

As for me, I mostly go with my gut feeling haha, but lately I’ve been sticking to a few rules when taking my shots:

I use a very low FOV to create a more striking visual effect

I play around with camera rotation to make things feel more dynamic

I usually keep autofocus on default or slightly more sensitive

For colors, I go by feel too—on my latest shot, I tried to bring out the red tones and then tweaked various settings until I got something I liked

Also, pushing the graphics settings to the max definitely helps a bit too haha.
